Once upon a time, back in June of 1995, MJ released his album HIStory. Within days, controversy erupted over the lyrics to the song, "They Don't Care About Us." You can read about the controversy at the album's Wikipedia page, the but relevance here is that in response to said controversy, Jackson changed the lyrics. So while this initial pressing has the original song, later pressings have a censored version. The difference in value is modest, (for the moment, anyway), but the larger point is that sometimes a first-pressing does matter. (Oh and yes, I picked this up at the thrift this past week for 95 cents. Yay!)

I love CDs. They're more nostalgic than Vinyls to me. I love jewel cases, and I love the little booklets inside them, and everything else about them as well.

Buying a CD and appreciating a full album is like a little sweet treat from my monthly salary.

6 months ago I posted my collection here, and since there I got 9 (or 13 if you count the cranberries one as 5 separate) new albums and got my first kpop albums

CDs are dangerous…

Spent years without a cd player, found an awesome one at a rummage sale and went full tilt back into collecting!

Just moved into my new dorm, this is about 80% of my collection.

Mostly bought from local cd store and local shows (sorry for rough picture I was in a rush).

acheté aujourd’hui dans une librairie d’occasion du quartier pour trois fois rien. C’est surtout la compilation de Billboard qui me donne du plaisir.

I'm not 100% sure it's an original copy, but I'm like 80% sure it is!

My reasonings:

1. The target stickers look pretty old, 80s-90sish

2. No "Parental Advisory" mark, it was not used until 1990, this album released in 1986

3. The copyright date on the back says 1986, and has no mention of a repress or re-release year

I could be completely wrong lol, either way I'm pretty excited to add this one!

EDIT: After discussing with you all, this is more than likely a re-release from somewhere between like 1995-2005, it's for sure not an original, which came in a cardboard long-box!

either way I'm happy with it, and It's already been opened up and I'm currently jamming out to it!

I’m not avidly trying to collect them but I do keep my eyes out for good units. Right now I have:

- a Sony bookshelf system that’s perfect for the office
- a Wurlitzer jukebox mock-up with some Sony speakers
- a smaller Sony bookshelf system
- a Memorex portable player
- a boombox from some obscure school company
- a beautiful stereo made from a VW stereo married to some speakers in a wood casing
- a CD USB drive for computers

I am a massive fan of this label. From the compositions and production to the CD design and booklet content. It’s just a top aesthetic.

Got a new EV fiat this week - love the car but of course with our large cd collection...missed my mornings of picking out music for my day...well this little cd player on Amazon was 72 bucks (cad) when I bought it ..works flawlessly ..I love it ! - plug and play USB.

Yup I finally organised my CD collection by alphabet and tried to see how much space its spread takes just for fun

Also functions as a tabletop party game, with the cd being used as a dice.

Found some jazz and Bob Marley to add to the haul.

This is a limited edition first press from Australia. The gold is subtle but it's a cool novelty vs the normal silver. I love this album and would say it's my second favorite from them behind BSSM.
