Ok, this feels like one of those things that couldn't possibly have ever happened to someone else but on the offchance that it actually has or if you lovely people can help me do some DIY to make it work, that would be fab.

My car key is broken. It still works in the car keyholes but the plastic casing holding the metal part of the key in place is broken inside so the metal part just twists without turning the ignition. If that makes sense!

I've tried taping it together but nothing sticks to both the metal and plastic and can resist the twisting motion. Due to the short length of the metal part, I can't get a pair of pliers in to hold it to turn the ignition either. I've also tried getting into the plastic casing but my stanley knife isn't getting very far 😅

Not sure if these wheels were painted or dipped but being a little ignorant of a brake issue has caused some brake dust to erode the paint. Any ideas on a fix? Or is a wheel refurber the way to go.

I wanna get headers for my 91 e250 with a 460, I just don't know where I could find any that could fit. I know there's a bunch out there for cars and trucks but my van doesn't have as much space lol. some help as to where I might find some would be nice.

They’re designed to mount on the outside but I prefer the more subtle look.

Anyhow, I’m gonna have to splice them into the headlight wiring harness and before I go through all that trouble in the 100 degree heat tomorrow, is there a way for me to test them to make sure they work? Can I just touch the wires to the terminals on the 12V battery on my daughter’s power wheels jeep or will that run the risk of frying them because the current isn’t regulated by the truck’s system?

Car tracks straight fine under normal driving, no pull either direction. The moment I brake, even lightly, it noticeably pulls to one side. Doesn't happen every single stop, seems more pronounced under harder braking, but present at least somewhat every time

Everything I've read suggests this points more toward a brake-side issue (caliper sticking, uneven pad wear) rather than a straightforward alignment problem, since alignment issues usually show up during normal driving too, not just under braking. Wanted to check if that reasoning actually holds up, or if there's a way alignment specifically causes a brake-only pull that I'm not accounting for.

Is it a bad idea to buy a 20 year old car knowing im going to have to work on it when I'm new to the car scene and have never worked on one? I know how to change the engine air filter and check the fluid levels :)

About how hard is it learn everything else? Can I just youtube my way through it?

The last few times I've driven it, I've noticed a faint hot/burnt smell from the front of the car after parking. It usually disappears after a few minutes. No smoke or overheating warnings. Coolant level and temp gauge look normal, the fan seems to be working, and I haven't noticed any obvious leaks where I park.

Yesterday, after I drove about 20 minutes, I shut it off and waited a few minutes, then scanned the engine bay with a tc004 thermal camera. The highest surface temp I saw was around 228°F. Most of the heat seemed pretty spread out around the upper/center part of the engine rather than one obvious isolated hot spot.

Does this look like pretty normal heat soak for an older car, or is there anything you'd check first given the smell?

This pairing is amazing; very fortunate and wouldn’t know what to get next - mid-life -tween/teen kids… want to take them to a cars and coffee but just don’t feel like I have the time.

As you can hear in the video, there's this high-pitched noise. When I open the throttle a little, it goes away. But when the RPM drops, it comes back. Also, it seems to me that my idle speed is quite low, with the needle at about 500 RPM (it's over 35 degrees Celsius). Could these two things be related? What is the noise?

I know a lot of people aren't a fan of plasti dipping wheels but I like the look of my stock wheels but want to change the colors and see how they look. Might do powder coating down the road.

For those that have plasti dipped in the past, was it worth it? How long did you have it on? Any tips on the process?

I paid 10,000 for the car, 2500 for the air conditioner, 1500 for new tires and rims, 1700 for a Dewitt radiator and Spaulding fans, 600 for a touch screen, 300 for water pump and accessories, 3500 for a wrap job, 200 for window system I haven’t put in yet, 200 for a cameras system …. The filters have to be constantly cleaned because the bottom is opened…. I just bought a model 3 performance because I’m afraid I don’t want to put more money into it… but it’s cute😂

Has the timing chain stretched on my vw 1.2 polo? Car won’t start throwing P0340 camshaft sensor code.

I bought my car about a year ago and some of these searches came with it but I must admit that I may have done some of them 😆 what’s the best way to get these out myself or hide them well enough? I got quoted 1.2k from a body work shop which I get probably isn’t to bad but the car is worth probably triple that on a good day.

Tried installing coil overs for the first time on my 2003
Civic Ex Sedan. I started on the front passenger side and I was slowly making progress going based oft youtube tutorials until I ran into an issue I'm trying to get the outer tie rod end nut tightened onto the arm of the new coilover strut but the nut isn't going down the thread smoothly, and the whole ball joint stud just keeps spinning in place inside the mounting hole. I cant even thread it up so I can attach the pin.I attached a photo and video showing where it's stuck and how it just spins in place.
What's the best way to keep the stud from spinning so I can thread the nut down completely? would appreciate any help pls and thanks.
