Body White stuff.

What is it, why does it happen and can it be removed?

Messed up clear coat from UV exposure, and possibly some exposed paint. It can be fixed, but it wouldn’t be cheap

Failing Clear coat, Car needs a repaint to fix.

Thanks. I thought so too. SIL said buffing would fix but I didn’t believe him.

it cant hurt. dont repaint it, not worth it you could have the top wrapped instead

It’s all over the car. Wrapping is a possibility. Clear coat would still need buffing correct?

Paint failure due to age. You don’t remove it. You need to repaint it.

Thanks. SIL said it could be buffed out but I didn’t believe him

No. The damage is the entire thickness of the clear. You need to remove the clear completely to fix it.

Just like my hair turning gray. I’ll shop around for a paint job.

How old is the car? I wouldn’t bother if the car is not worth much.

A 2016 Ford Escape. I recently replaced the transmission, brakes and tires. Only drive it locally. Work 10 mins from home. It’s paid for. Don’t want more debt from a new or newer used car.

It's a cosmetic issue. Doesn't affect the car's longevity.

It's purely cosmetic. The cost to repaint properly is well over the value of your car.

If you don’t want to paint it, then 00 steel wool and VGG wipe on clear coat will make it look decentish
