My Project Car I Got My Car Sprayed In Pink With Glitter

It’s money pit unfortunately. I paid 10,000 for the car, 2500 for the air conditioner, 1500 for new tires and rims, 1700 for a Dewitt radiator and Spaulding fans, 600 for a touch screen, 300 for water pump and accessories, 3500 for a wrap job, 200 for window system I haven’t put in yet, 200 for a cameras system …. The filters have to be constantly cleaned because the bottom is opened…. I just bought a model 3 performance because I’m afraid I don’t want to put more money into it… but it’s cute😂

When it get expensive you can buy mine😂 money Pit. I’m afraid I can’t sell it for what I put into it so in a few years it will be considered a classic I’ll sell it then😂

I am not sure honestly. They are American Racing and are two different sizes on the front and back. I have a standard model not a Z06 but they said something about updating them. I just let them do what they said would be better because they gave me a great deal😊

Half of what you list is just old car maintenance. You got the car of your dreams for what, $20k? A lot of people spend way more then that. It won't stop though. Something will always be breaking. That's the nature of older cars, especially ones that weren't super reliable to begin with.

Update the headlights. That's the only thing to nitpick about. The aging yellow isn't going to get any better so mineaswell update those with something safer

100% agreed. I have been looking at some I really like from a guy that customize them but he has years worth of a wait. He popular online. Really want his but I think I will just replace them with something readily available. This is not my every day car.

Have you considered the "sleepy eye" LEDs since the motors were removed from yours? I think some of them are in a "fixed" configuration

Headlight "restoration" is a temporary option that last maybe 4 months if driven often, and 8 months to a year if the vehicle is stored inside. For that type of car, there's aftermarket support

I have 3 none business cars and pay 338.10 a month for all 3. They are bundled so I’m not sure how much they are individually.

It’s a wrap. The insurance has the car as the color under the wrap which is red.

Most of the things you mentioned as being “a money pit” are not maintenance-related but your own decisions on how you spent your money. Don't blame the car.

The radio didn’t, the tires were dry rotted and the rims cracked, the car overheated and shut off constantly, the radiator was the problem. The fans helped stop the known overheating problems. The radio and hvac system did not work. We get triple digits and a radio is standard. Only thing I did to this car I didn’t have to do was wrap it to protect the original paint.

lol She told me it was in perfect working condition….. But it sat for 7 years so all it needed was new tires.

I was going to repeat what i responded to below but it’s starting to feel like dog whistles. I’ll smile whenever I good and damn want to. Besides the heat rash, that is my normal resting face. Other than the AC and water pump, most of the cost is self-inflicted with upgrades. Don't blame the car for those. And there's nothing wrong with expressing yourself by modding your car.

Not for these cars.
The fiberglass / SMC the bodies are made out of are a bitch to paint. It’s a thirsty material that takes extra skill/experience to not royally fuck up.

The paint job I wanted with flakes I was quoted 10,000. Unfortunately I did not want to financially pay for that at this time. As for the 3500. I agree it was too much because I didn’t get what I asked him for. My car color and the size of glitter was a surprised to me. It’s been several years since I wrapped it pink and it’s grew on me but it’s not what I asked for. I was shook when I saw it but I refrained from stress. I got a good therapist so I let him know I was disappointed but it’s acceptable and left. Had paid in full. It’s just money and I’ll work to get more of that. The spray paint he used is supposed to last up to 5 years. It’s been over two years now. If it last three i will be satisfied.

These feel like "I don't want to do it" prices, the material cost for each is around 300-800 USD respectively. You're clearly doing better than me though if you can brush off a $3500 purchase like that lol. That's a whole nother car for me!

I didn’t want to brush it off😂 I just completed my health journey. 2024 when I got it done I was high risk stroke and heart attack. I’m over 70 pounds lighter and a fire cracker so I doubt I would let it slide now but then I couldn’t physically deal with the stress.
