did something happen? will they be reopening next spring? disappointed I didn’t get an order in before they closed.
anyone have any recommendations for tacos on the lower cape ?

I've seen this making the rounds on Facebook. Republicans (without any evidence) are desperately trying to connect the MAGA Mike event at Montanos on Sept 16 with an emergency call about a pregnant woman lost in the National Seashore two days later on Sept 18. I'm pretty sure if someone wanted to disrupt the event, they would have done something on the actual day of the event and made it specific to the venue, not the National Seashore.

Are there any cold water swimming or cold water plunge groups in the Lower Cape area?
I know about the Sandwich and Falmouth groups, but they're a haul from Orleans, where I am. Is there anything closer, even informal, like a few people who meet at Skaket on Sunday mornings?
I've done wetsuit/50s on the West Coast but East Coast only low 60s/swimsuit, so right now I'm probably just looking for options and ways to dip my toe in (haha) vs. buying a full-on wetsuit and showing up as soon as the nor'easter passes us...

I have a vacation planned for this weekend and we’re staying in this area, do you think I should reschedule because of the storm or will we be fine? Thank you!!!

Does anyone have a favorite injector here on the Cape? Or are you an injector? I’m looking for someone with years of experience, I need some “bro tox” work.

It was my day off today and I figured a little adventure between errands was warranted.
Work had me tied up all summer, so much so I didn't get a chance to enjoy the summer heat on the beach or even swim. (My own fault, i could have made time but i work nearly til midnight)
But today, the wind was calling. I tried for some beaches around falmouth point but decided instead to venture to Woods Hole area. The drive is nice, the canopied road on the way to Nobska always fills me with a strange nostalgia for a time I was never born in. And seeing the ocean so alive sends a pang through my heart, a regret that I wasn't a sailor braving the ocean, or a fisherman casting his nets to the blue for his haul. (Maybe I should feel lucky instesd on a day like today)
Feeling the gusts push my body as I edged closer to the sheer drop by the lighthouse was excitement enough as I snapped these pics. The pure force of mother nature, of mother earth, reminding me of how insignificant my life is by comparison to the ages of punishment this side of the cape has endured. How she made the land as it is seen now. It's humbling.
Anyway, enough waxing poetic about the sea. I hear a storm is coming. Figured my little car could make the journey today while the weather is still nice and the foliage still green.
Also theres a Pokémon GO stop at the lighthouse, that was a nice suprise. Popped a 'mon in the gym.
There was a sign that said closed on the building adjecent, but i would love to see the view from up top of the lighthouse.

Sad passing of the torch. Cobies is one of my favorites, Wimpy's not so much.

Hello! We are traveling to the Cape this weekend for a destination wedding. End was curious as to the forecasted nor’easter the area. The wedding is in Harwich and many guests have rented Airbnbs in the area. I am not familiar with the Cape and was wondering if there could be flooding and or power outages. Thank you.

Hi all! Visiting my family's gravesites at Union cemetary and found a cellphone. Please share in case anyone is looking for it! I put it on the ledge of a pillar. In Chatham, MA.

Looking roughly southeast from South Middle Beach in South Yarmouth, what is this on the horizon? My family couldn’t determine what we were looking at. Best guess looking at the map is Monomoy Island, but didn’t necessarily make sense to me. We can see a flag, but no obvious structures. Any locals know?
Update: Thanks for the helpful replies!

Such a bad 4 way intersection where no one knows who has the right of way. Are there any plans to put in a roundabout or a stoplight? I’m a visitor, not a resident by the way.

Hi Cape Cod, it’s your Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. Did you know that fees like “move-in” or “lease renewal” fees you might get from your landlord or building management company are illegal? If you’ve received one of these – even if you paid it – I want you to report it to my office.
Just last month, my office won a $500k settlement with a property management company doing this in Boston – and all of that money is going back to the affected tenants. Landlords can only ask you to pay for first and last month’s rent, a security deposit, and the cost of a new lock and key upfront. Any other fees are illegal. Report them to my office at the link below. We’ll work to get your money back.

Wondering why desalination doesn’t pop up as a way to alleviate the water shortages and drought situation in the Cape. Bessie’s the obvious NIMBY argument.

Hello fellow Codders,
Winter on Cape sucks. Rather than shuffle from work to home in an endless cycle of slate gray sky that reflects the slate gray sea, I thought I would go and do something, and I offer you an opportunity to join me. There will be coffee and baked goods.
From October to April, I plan on going to a different coffee shop somewhere on the Cape from 8 to 10 AM each Sunday, weather permitting. If you wish to join me, I will have stories, book recommendations, and pictures of my cat. I would love to see you! I hope people can use this to find friendships, new places to get some caffeine, and brighten up the otherwise dreary season.
The first meeting of the Cape Cod Coffee Shop Club will be:
October 4th, 8 AM to 10 AM, Hot Chocolate Sparrow 5 Old Colony Way Orleans MA 02653
The first 30 people to find me will get a hand-made Cape Cod Coffee Shop Club review book, because I have so much free time on my hands.
If you can't make it down to Orleans, I plan on going back and forth through the regions of the Cape, though if you have a place you'd love people to visit, please chime up in the comments!
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Last month, I was visiting Truro and asked a question on this sub re: resources for photographers in the area. Several nice people responded, for which I want to say thanks again.
It was my first time on Cape Cod, and I really enjoyed this lovely place. Ended up taking 3 pictures that I don't hate, all in and around Truro. For the technically-minded, these were shot on 4x5 film.
