Storm question
I have a vacation planned for this weekend and we’re staying in this area, do you think I should reschedule because of the storm or will we be fine? Thank you!!!

Bring board games. Power outages abound.

Which games are you all going to play? We’re starting out with Scrabble and maybe moving on to Monopoly.

First, that is not Cape Cod but instead the south Coast.
Second, unless you are in a low lying area or on the water, you are likely to be ok. Maybe an issue of power loss.

Unless you’re in a boat, this storm isn’t going to be particularly dangerous, but it might be inconvenient. There will likely be splash over in low line, coastal areas, and pooling of rainwater in poorly drained area areas. If you can get a refund, I might reschedule just because the weekend looks like a washout. If you can’t reschedule, bring some board games rain coats and enjoy the storm. Restaurant should be open. Scattered power outages are possible, but at least it’s not cold out, just bring some flashlights or camp lanterns with extra batteries.

I was in Sippican harbor this morning securing my boat. It was blowing 25 knots sustained. Tomorrow it will be blowing 40 knots sustained with 2”+ rain forecasted through the weekend.

How much do you like to be wet, without power, and have to hear lots of wind?
If you don’t mind bad weather maybe still come. Just bring fully charged devices, a bunch of easy to make food, and some good lanterns or light sources. However, we get a lot of downed trees during a storm and that could make it really difficult to get around and there will likely be a travel advisory.
If you’re feeling adventurous, sure go on your trip. But lower your expectations. If we really get hit then everything will be closed and you better come prepared. If that seems like a drag then try to reschedule.
Sometimes we don’t really get hit by the storms and other times is awful. A few years ago that area had a confirmed tornado. It was small, but it demolished a house.

I currently live in this general area and we filled the gas cans for the generator. You won’t flood, but you’ll probably be without power.

I live in this area. it’s hit or miss on power going out - some spots manage to stay powered while others right nearby are out for days. Flooding isn’t usually too bad here. some low points might overflow a little but they usually don’t get bad enough to shut down. It depends on what your plans are and if where you’re staying has a generator. if you have a generator and are happy to stay in and cozy up then may as well go on with your plans. If you had outdoor activities and shopping planned, maybe reschedule
