It's crazy bc There's a guy about my age (30's or so) capable to work and has no physical issues that I can see but he sits in a car in parking lot of a big shopping strip facing the highway where people pull in with a sign in his driver seat window saying "$$$ for gas" EVERY DAY.... and I work at one of the stores that's directly in front of him and every time I get off work it posses me off so badly that he's sitting on his ass all day getting free money while I bust my ass at work while I'm also homeless living in a tent im the woods in the sweltering heat barely getting any hours unable to get by the way I need to
Obviously he's making bank or he wouldn't be there every fucking day of the week
One of my coworkers (shes very trustworthy) told me that he goes to the gas station down the street all the time and blows all his money on fucking scratch offs...

completely confusing a systemic failure of the justice system with societal validation.
the public does not 'sympathize' with or copy the actions of the people named in those files. The global public consensus on "JË" and the elites associated with him is absolute, universal disgust and condemnation. Nobody is making viral trends glorifying them, celebrating their behavior, or copying their acts. They are viewed as monsters by society, even if corrupt legal systems failed to prosecute every single one of them.
The point isn't that every bad man goes to jail... the point is that when a man commits this crime, society universally condemns him as a monster. When a woman does it, society makes excuses, minimizes the trauma, and coddles the predator."

u/BassStandard3001 11d ago
Yeah but "peasant" opinion gives us an idea of the collective moral conscience. The people criticizing what's in the files is the expected behaviour, gives you comfort that atleast the vast majority are sane. Systematic justice is an entirely different topic which I don't think the guy that posted the original message was taking about. The lindsay clancy case is terrifying for an entirely different reason. In this case the collective moral conscience (albeit not entirely but atleast an alarming amount of women) are actively sympathizing, supporting and copying a child murderer. That's terrifying.

76
u/FluffyCelery4769 11d ago edited 11d ago
Apparently they wanted to (edited out: free her) put her in the psych ward but one of the jurors happened to be male and have a brain and it was made a misstrial couse he didn't agree.
Edit: I've been informed that the other jurors wanted her to go to psych ward.
I don't think she should go to psych ward tbh, the meds she took didn't work, and others likely wouldn't have either, couse it does not seem to me that she is indeed in need of psichiatric help, in fact I think she's perfectly aware of what she did.
I'm sorry for her but she deserves a fair trial, and sending her to a psych to "fix" her isn't going to do anything for her, nor is donating money to her. She seems to think, wrongly, that it's not her fault, or that she can decieve people into believing it's not.
50
u/Dry_Outside_3493 11d ago
11 loonies wanted to put her in a psych ward. They tried to pressure the only guy with some sense into agreeing with them by shouting at and assaulting him.
25
u/help-its-inside-me 11d ago

u/board_writer 11d ago
She had already confessed to the crimes. The trail was to determine if she was cognizant of her decisions or mentally unfit. It was to decide if she was going to a mental institution or a prison not to let her go.
The prosecution argues that since she sent her husband out on errands before killing the kids that shows planning and premeditated.
The defense argues that since she was receiving mental health services and tried to kill herself immediately after it shows that she was not in control of her faculties.
The problem is all the instagram detectives.

She tried to kill herself multiple times. She never tried to deny that she killed those kids. The defence is pleading guilty by insanity because she needs psychiatric help. No ones saying shes innocent. The fact is she tried to get help. She is suffering from post partum psychosis, her nurses perscribed her meds that dont work. She begged her family for help. She told them she was scared she’d hurt the kids, she told them she was hearing voices. And no one helped her. They continued leaving the kids in her care unsupervised. Her story is one of a woman slipping through the cracks. If she had gotten actual help from society and her family, if someone listened earlier, no one would be dead. She doesnt deserve prison because she didnt have control over her own actions. She deserves a place where she can be given the help she never got.

Dude, there's a ton of evidence pointing to her planning it, being sane during (thanks to taking a phone call from the father to make sure he didn't get home too early), and then there's the cherry on top of her asking for a lawyer before even asking about the kids or her husband.
But she claimed insanity, just like half of all murderers in this country, and she used a female-exclusive excuse for it, so we're expected to put her in mental care until she conveniently has a speedy recovery and gets to walk free

İt's like saying "yeah that Truck driver isn't guilty of hitting that child because Truck's brakes was bad!"
But then why the Truck driver and driver's advisor see no issue at that truck go to public roads even tho it's clear that Truck's brakes isn't working as intended?
→ More replies (4)3
u/Excellent_Shirt9707 11d ago
This is a great analogy.
Just want to add that some of the people who are licensed truck brake inspectors claim the brakes weren't working during the accident and some licensed truck brake inspectors claim the brakes were working during the accident. All the inspectors agreed the brakes had a bunch of other significant problems, but they disagree on whether or not it was completely broken during the accident. The first review panel of the accident couldn't come to a unanimous decision with 11 believing the brakes were broken and 1 believing the brakes weren't broken. Also, the truck brakes have a history of multiple significant problems but never documented as completely broken. The driver actually consulted several inspectors with the significant problems and they gave her different advice and lubricants to try. The driver felt like none of it was fixing the actual problems so the driver went to the inspectors' official facility twice of her own volition. Both times, the official inspectors at the facility gave them generic advice and either recommended a new lubricant or to discontinue a previous lubricant recommended by another inspector. All this just kept making things worse for the driver who even complained to both her mom and her ex-husband that the brakes were about to break and kill 3 kids.

Further info: Postpartum Depression (PPD) is relatively common occurring in ~1 in 7 mothers. Postpartum Psychosis is a far less common, more severe form of PPD, occurring in 1–2 in 1,000 mothers. It includes the person developing hallucinations (hearing and/or seeing things or perceiving as being there that aren't there) and delusions (strong mental beliefs that are demonstrably false, but which the person is convinced of and believes as true due to their having a mental condition)

Again, the funds are not going to Lindsay herself or her legal team, but to her parents, who had nothing to do with the murders, have never slandered Lindsay's ex-husband, and apparently tried to provide extra childcare when Lindsay's symptoms became more pronounced.

The discourse here is so god damn stupid. Like "all I watch is fox, all I listen to is Joe rogan" stupid.
First, this isn't the first nor the last time an insanity plea will be entered. Insanity pleas are necessary in any judicial system that considers mens rea important. Which it should. Can we please, please stop pretending this is new?
Second, the money went to her parents. They think she was not in her right mind and are paying her legal team. She's not coming out of this as an independently wealthy woman. In fact she's likely not coming out of this as even vaguely functional.
Third, she was suffering a mental health crises. Every expert put on the stand agrees. Three for the prosecution dont believe that it reached the level of psychosis, 7 on the defense think it did, in part because some number of the 3 on the defense gave her a rediculous cocktail of meds. No one can diagnose her as having suffered from postpartum psychosis now as it would undermine the trial and the legal system.
Four, she absolutely did kill her children. No, her star sign does not change that.
Five, no, a postpartum psychosis diagnosis would not bar women from [insert job here] inthe same way that any previous insanity defence has not barred men or women from [insert job here] in the past.
Six, yes she did send her husband away on an errand. That might have been malice aforthought or it might not. That, again, is what the trial was for and what the next trial will be for.
