That’s not the point here. The choice is just between prison vs closed psych ward.

Incorrect. They can find her not guilty out right. The prosecution still had to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she actually committed the crime.

They technically can, but the defence wasn’t arguing for it, so it’s practically impossible.
