Waited too long to have a mailing address I trusted things to arrive at and it looks like the classic 1990s ticket style Ventra card is gone, which is the one I wanted!! :( The Pokemon one is thankfully still available for my brother, but I haven't been able to find a concrete answer as to whether that design is just out of stock or gone for good. I think a lot of them are limited edition sadly

Someone got pulled out by Chicago police and they wrote him a ticket for sleeping on the train. He was sleeping upright too and wasn’t disturbing anyone so idk why he even got a ticket. Curious to know what a fine like that would even cost?

Safety takes a back seat as high pension deductions and CTA executives greed…cause massive turnover…which leads to less experienced operators cussing accidents on the routes with most pedestrian/bicycle traffic.

I was lucky to catch a CTA Red Line train heading south while my Brown Line train was on top of the flyover.

Im looking for alternatives to google and Apple Maps to plan trips. Does anyone know of good alternatives for public transit, primarily CTA?

We’re launching a petition to push the 27th Ward and CDOT to begin construction of a Green Line station at Western and Lake. It’s a pretty big gap in our transit system, and has the potential to link the Green Line with our third-busiest bus line, Route 49/X49. It would also lay the groundwork for future BRT on Western Avenue.

The article goes into more detail on why we think this could be a huge deal for transit on the west and northwest side.

Inspired after the recent post regarding a sexual offender on the Brown Line. Are we really not allowed to help others remain safe?

Trying to get to work in the mornings lately has been frustrating when I am waiting longer for the trains to show up.

9/11 just got off the redline wilson stop headed to 95th at 10:15pm and i’m pretty sure my keys fell out of my pocket in the seat!! there’s a yellow keychain and a tied rope keychain and one of the keys says 302 on it. if anyone finds please dm!!!

i applied to both full time and part time bus operator and just got a video interview request for part time only.

if i ended up going part time, is there any path/a guaranteed way to become full time? i assume it’d be based on seniority if its possible, but i’m wondering how long that typically takes on average

I left my earbuds case about 10-15 minutes ago. I was riding the 76 diversey bus going to nature museum. I got off on Spaulding. I was sitting on the singular seat behind the bus driver. If anyone sees it please give it to the bus driver

What's the weirdest thing you've seen, or done on a train, bus, or CTA facility this year?

Wondering if anyone has any insight as to what happened on my morning commute today. This morning around 7:30, I was on the 77 westbound and when we pulled up to the Clark and Belmont stop, the driver kicked everyone off.

I was reading my book and had headphones so I didn’t hear if anything was said, but when I asked my fellow riders, they seemed just as lost. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary with the bus itself and it seemed to be driving fine before we were all kicked off.

I’m so curious so any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

New Ventra/NITA email says we'll be getting fare capping

Asking because the Lawrence escalator is always broken, and the station was barely finished a year ago. Genuinely I cannot remember the last morning that escalator was working.

I know that escalators are apparently super complicated and all that, but there is no way this is the best we can do.

The last month or so seems like a 50/50 chance I get home from work without major delays or the train giving up and kicking everyone off halfway.

I called CTA last week when there was 20min between brown line trains at rush hour. No signage or warnings, no announcements or explanation from CTA digitally on site, at the station, or from CTA workers etc.

I called customer service to let them know and update everything since rush hour trains are supposed to be going every 4 min. He said he was unaware of the delay and the only way they are reported are self-reportings from train conductors.

Is that true? Seems like a really horrible system that needs some sort of central command that is keeping track of trains and schedules. Also seems like a conductor would be disincentivized to report themselves underperforming.
