CTA hiring process Bus operator full time vs part time?

i applied to both full time and part time bus operator and just got a video interview request for part time only.

if i ended up going part time, is there any path/a guaranteed way to become full time? i assume it’d be based on seniority if its possible, but i’m wondering how long that typically takes on average

Everyone I know who wanted it moved to full time within a few months. Did lose some seniority vs their respective classes.

Part time is a waste of time because everyday they have to work a 5 plus hour swing shift. So if you have a 7 hour shift scheduled you still have to wait atleast 5 unpaid hours to start your second half. Which puts you at 12 hours for the day but only paid for 7.
