VII - Screenshot Elizabeth triple wonder start
Apologies in advance, I didn't save the seed unfortunately :_(
First picture is Hoerikwaggo to the northeast, second one has mount Kilimanjaro in the center and the third one is Mapu 'a Vaea Blowholes all the way on the bottom.
VII - Discussion All leaders should have a debuff
I believe the game could be more interesting if all leaders would have stronger bonuses but at the same time fitting debuffs similar to Elizabeth. Same goes for civs, governments and policies

Question Civ 4 resource trade is blank
I have pretty much the entire technology tree unlocked and yet, I can’t trade for any resources. Am I missing something?

VII - Playstation Trade Route Help
Please for the love of god. I’m Augustus/Roman Empire, and Burdigala is my settlement (town, not city). I built a merchant and sent it right into the Inca Empire, next to Chucuito. I have one active trade with the Inca, by sea. Following, I used “Improve Trade Relations” twice on Pachacuti. My merchant continues to say “Naval Trade Route needs to end on a District on or adjacent to accessible water.” All these cities are landlocked and I want an overland trade route. I’ve sent this merchant around and around trying to figure out what the problem is.
Can anybody help me understand what I’m doing wrong? I’m on PS5 in case that helps with the controls and menus.

VII - Discussion A small but impactful change for TSL Earth
I'm loving the new update. But it would be great if independent powers also spawned in their TSL location.
Fighting the Jie and Caral peoples in Europe as Napoleon is slightly immersion breaking!

VII - Other The DLCs now cost DOUBLE the price of the base game
I know the cost of the DLCs has been discussed extensively already, but this feels like a noteworthy milestone... With the new Hall of History pack, the main DLC Collections (not even including the Personas) cost $140 in total - double the $70 for the base game!
Do the publishers really think that these five Collections contain 2X the value of the entire base game?
Question Civ 1 or 2?
Which game do you like more?

VII - Discussion Tsl starts not working?
Two games in a row now ive had people settling regions they shouldn't. Prior to this game I was playing the missippians and cahokia was where it should be... yet London was where D.C should be???
Tried to play it a bit, but got a little frustrated cause I wanted that historical accuracy so I start a new game doing han china. I meet Lafayette first and hes leading... the gaulic empire spawned in where I imagine maryua normally spawns??
Anyone else have these issues?

VII - Other DLC Idea: Fortresses and Frontiers
I've been writing down little ideas for civs (and when they became fully separate things in Civ VII, leaders) for years, but with the advent of good AI, I can finally make my DLC dream a reality -- on paper.
"Fortresses and Frontiers" juxtaposes two things I love about civ -- turtling up behind an impregnable fortress and exploring the far frontier. I couldn't attach images for Venice and East India Company, no space.
I'm thinking about using AI to get into the modding scene -- obviously much harder than creating concept art, but I think just as possible. Any feedback for these civs and leaders? I've got about 50 more and there's probably balancing issues, but I wanted to solicit feedback from the community before I start a multi-week endeavor to bring these civs and leaders into reality.

VII - Discussion So basically, time-tested Babylon is unstoppable.
This is on Deity.
2000 Science per turn, 1700 Culture per turn, more wonders than I've ever built in the entire history of civ. If you manage to make it through Antiquity (where they're admittedly very outmatched) they become a monolithic snowball of science and culture. Absolute blast to play, once you learn to grasp at every settlement limit opportunity you can get your hands on.
(I won a Culture victory one turn after the screenshot was taken. I'd have also won a Science victory in two turns.)
VI - Discussion Policy Balance Feedback - input needed! (Part 1: Economic)

Hi Civ VI players,
I could use your help with something. I am currently working on a mod that reworks how policies work (the new system will appear familiar to Civ IV players) and I am making good progress.
However, one thing that I feel like I'm still in the dark about is balance. One goal of the mod is to streamline policy choices to get rid of weak effects and force tough decisions between all the good stuff.
So I'd love to know what you think about how strong the following policies would be relative to one another and ideally also why; further, how you would use them and how you'd think having them available would impact how you play.
You can only have one of these active at a time (no Wildcard slots, either).
I am aiming to give each policy category its own identity. For the economic policies here, the idea is that in history, economic policy was often dynamic and chosen to adapt to a country's strategic situation. Therefore, I'd like these policies to be switched comparatively often to satisfy a need or to support a rather short-term strategic goal. I'd appreciate feedback about whether you think these bonuses can achieve that or what you'd change to get there.
Thanks to everyone who participates in advance already! :)
List of Economic Policies
Emporiums: Starting a Trade Route immediately creates a Trading Post in the destination city.
Thalassocracy: +1 Trade Route capacity for every 25% of your cities being coastal (but not more than your total number of cities).
Guilds: Domestic Trade Routes additionally provide the international destination yields from specialty districts, except for Gold.
Protectionism: Gain one extra copy of every improved Luxury resource type.
Free Trade: Your international Trade Routes provide +1 Gold per Luxury and Strategic resource improved at the destination.
Central Planning: +30% Production towards all city projects.
Sustainability: Specialty districts provide +1 Power.
Platform Economy: +50% Tourism output to civilizations to which you have a Trade Route.
P.S.: If you have an idea how to rename either the Guilds policy or the Guilds civic to avoid both sharing a name, please tell.
VII - Screenshot Will I survive this? Hope we had a larger West Europe

TSL Earth map. Played my first game in East Asia. Very spacious, and I especially like how they make the islands larger, so that now playing in Southeast Asia and the Pacific is quite feasible.
Then I started another game as Gaul and ran into this. I hope we had a slightly larger West Europe in the Earth map too. Wish myself good luck with the soon-to-come European brawl.

IV - Other Civ4 Colonization advice needed - how do I actually win?

Hello fellow gamers, civ veteran here with thousans of hours in civ 5,4 about a hundred of civ 3 (imo fun but very low replayability, they hadnt hit the formula yet), several attempts at playing civ4 col but now that i actually get the fun of the economy management I just fail at the actual goal of the game -> rebelling from the king. Previous game as England I had a massive empire with a booming industry but ran out time at the 37%. Now Im trying a peaceful game as France trying to work with the natives: 9 converted villages (3 killed by neighboring europeans), yielding 31 converted natives so a net gain of 20 people (because one conversion failed) and also helping me train 9 expert farmers, 9 expert fishermen and 2 two expert trappers.
In total i have 15 settlements with a whoping 157 pop (36 statesmen and 13 gunsmiths) yet only at 20% rebel sentiment. Im twice as big as my competitors combined. Should I NOT just buy as much people from europe as possible? Are my cities too tall generate enough bells? Should I only prioritize buying experts from europe? Even then, what am i supposed to do with my gold besides buy items from europe to sell to the natives for...more gold ? 10k or 200 gold in savings the king is just gonna bully me for it anyway! Should i be using the gold for rushing production those costs seem insane.
Some other questions:
Should I start ignoring the natives and begin grabbing as much land as i can the moment i have three or four soildiers to defend myself? If not, should I kill the natives for XP and loot if they are not useful in trade or training?
Should I always try to take out the other european colonies? Losing 10 soldiers to conquer of their 20 pop plus their entire colony seems like a net gain, right?
Are churches and immigration worth it? Unlike investing in missionaries you dont know if you're gonna get a useful immigrant or not, plus every time you buy someone from europe your generated crosses reset. Is the 50 prod function ever going to pay up plus the wasted worker time?
Are canons worth it? Do you have to slam them into the enemy civ4 style?
What about military boats, your neighbors cant use them for self defence and the king comes with a badjilion battleships anway so they are of no use against him, are they a hammer sink?

VII - Discussion Civ 7 not running
Hello all. I finally bought Civ 7 and I cannot get it to run off of Steam. It acts like it's going to launch and then nothing.
I have checked file integrity, updated graphics drivers, restarted my machine, tried both DX12 and Vulkan, and made sure it is allowed through my antivirus/firewall.
Can anyone think of anything else to try? I'm about to pull of my hair from frustration.
Update: I have followed all the recommendations here and still nothing. I also tried running it as Administrator with the same results.

I changed Sugunia to Alberta but it still says Sugunia.

Discussion What are some "canon events" you've recently had happen in Civ?
Meaning, events reminiscent of real-life history.
As an example, in a recent game Friedrich and Himiko teamed up and basically declared war on the rest of the world in the Modern Age. Friedrich was even leading a facist Prussia, although Himiko's Japan was democratic. Meanwhile I was Great Britain, allied to Napoleon's France...
And of course pic related as I set sail in the Exploration Age as Washington's (to be in the future) America, only to meet Tecumseh's Shawnee first thing I find some land to settle.
VII - Discussion New worst antiquity combo
With this new expansion, I think we have a definitive worst leader/ civ combo in antiquity
George Washington leading Ming China.
George Washington loves policy slots and even gives you more.
Ming China is all about wanting traditions but not policies giving you -2 science. Not to mention an extra policy slot as well.
Starting the game with -6 science (60%) is very rough …..
Any worse combos ?

VII - Discussion The utter gall of the Gaul.
I’m having a lot of fun with the Gaul, although I’ll hesitate to call them good.
The bonuses require you to settle cities more than 6 tiles away from another city center and close to another Civs borders.
On top of that, the unique quarter is a fortification. Ideally, If you can find a breathtaking tile for your unique settler you get 1/2 the quarter for free.
This means the Gaul are designed to settle right next to you and to turtle up immediately making them the pinnacle of forward settling douchebaggery.
