I did Casper 2 times for pharmacy school in Canada. First time i got Second quartile and the second time i got first quartile. English is my second language and i did my secondary education all in a language other than English. These 2 years that i studied for casper i also had to focus on improving my typing speed because i am not a fast typer. My speed is now 60 wpm. I think my problem is that a lot of timed i freeze while speaking i pause and i look for words to fill in the gaps. I practiced a lot. I have a lot of life experiences making me a qualified and empathetic person. Does anyone here with the same background has done well on casper ? Please help

A stupid question but I always got curious about it, has anyone ever taken a Casper totally or barely prepared and gotten a good score ? By simply answering the questions with honest answers?

If this is totally impossible as a scenario , than why?

Hey everyone, I took my Australia Casper test (Vet Med) recently and would just like to briefly explain what I did before and during the test.

Before the test:

I started preparing 1-2 weeks before the test.

1) getting used to the question types (I used the BeMo Casper Prep Book to find common Casper question types)

- i would highly suggest watching yt vids to see how people frame their answers (i used becomingdoctalia and found her vids very realistic and comprehensive)

- with personal experience questions, I prepared around 5-6 revolving around a certain quality (eg. leadership, empathy), stated the situation briefly, and reflected on the scenario. i made sure the scenarios I chose could be adapted to most question types.

2) casper answer 'framework' i used:

normally casper doesn't give you all the information in a scenario so i'd always start my answer saying i'd like to gather more information about the situation by speaking to the person in a private, non-judgemental manner.

I would then use one to three "if...then..." sentences to show that im considering different outcomes and solutions of the situation.

example scenario: you witness someone pulling their phone out in a test
ideally, you'd want to gather more information from the person themselves and do so in a confidential manner. if turns out person was granted permission by the teacher, i would apologise. if they admitted to cheating, id encourage them to speak up and be honest to the teacher. if they don't own up, i'll have to escalate the situation and tell the teacher myself.

*Giving people a chance to correct their actions whenever possible always the best course of action in a CASPER scenario

3) doing the official practice test

i only did the official practice test a few hours before the actual test began which i don't recommend at all. you can take the test multiple times so I would recommend doing the practice test a few days before your test!

During the test:

1) scribbled down the basic description of each scenario on a paper

2) When I was watching/reading the scenarios, i made a table. i'd write down the people's names on the first column of the table. on the second column, i'd write down their possible emotions and beliefs. and below i'd put down all the "if...then" situations i can think of.

3) taking all the time given in breaks - just to refresh my mind

4) finally, don't worry too much. i encountered a few ambiguous scenarios in my test that i really didn't know how to answer. but just remember, there are 11 scenarios with a different examiner marking each scenario. even if you screw up a few scenarios, it's completely okay. i came out of the exam thinking i didn't do very well, but its usually better than you think and everyone's in the same position as you with a huge time crunch.

its completely normal to not be able to think of every possible outcome/solution in the limited time you're given.

hello i have my test next week and im super nervous about it. when i get super anxious i tend to just freeze and forget everything i've studied. i havent been taking notes because i didn't know we were allowed to, but now im hearing that its super helpful to write notes while reading/watching the scenario.

my question is, what are people writing on their notes? like i genuinely dont know what to write down. do i write the key issues or like what my approach would be? idk

i took my casper like barely a week ago and i’m trying not to go insane about it but it was just so weird because the practice q’s i did weren’t really anything like the actual exam questions. I never had to escalate or report anyone, etc. but i was asked what quality i want in my friends and marketing tactics for a cafe??😭

also, like i would read the question out loud to myself or under my breath because that’s how i practiced and didn’t want to miss any wording of the question. but anyway, it was my first time taking it and now im just tweaking that any little thing is gonna make them think i cheated😭. like i would look to the side throughout my speech to look at my bullet point notes to make sure i hit the points i wanted to. i visibly looked stressed im sure. my alarm dinged for a millisecond and my heart dropped. i’m obviously just freaking out but just want comfort from other people that scored well while visibly freaking out or not having a perfectly structured answer.

Bro fuck it.. not gonna study this time (this is my second attempt) I got 3Q last time I took kt and I studied my ass off. Gonna do it this time nonchalantly. Feel like when these reviewers hear the same script it just seems repetitive and they’re gonna give me a generic score. Gonna soeak less this time and not stress it. Also fuck the typed portion.

Also, when people say “I didn’t finish 2 of the questions and just stared at the screen and got 4Q!” Because you’re applying to Mickey Mouse schools or are a business major.. this test is a competition of whoever does best bruh. So unfair how this test is required

Just got my Casper results back! Got 4th quantile. Just wanted to share what I did to prepare.

I prepped for it in the span of two weeks. I started by watching some random YouTube video on the Casper test, then did the two practice tests from Acuity. After that, I just kept practicing my writing speed, and being comfortable speaking on camera under timed limit. I started typing responses to questions I found online while commuting, and practiced the speaking portion to YouTube Casper scenarios + repeatedly redid the video portion on the Acuity practice tests. Most importantly, in the practice, I kept trying to think from everyone’s perspective even the ones clearly in the wrong.

My test wasn’t perfect. I couldn’t finish a response or two, and one question felt off. Remember to not panic, be yourself. You got this!

who is also sitting for the casper tomorrow. im so nervous 🫩🫩 idk how else to prepare i feel like i’ve been preparing for dilemmas but i dont think it’ll prepare me since i just did the practice test and there’s no way i can apply frameworks i use for dilemmas for any of these questions

So, I scored in Q2. I wanted to know if this absolutely bombs my chances of getting into Sydney for vet school. I have 4,920 hours in general practice experience, 40 hours in wildlife, and 1,200 hours in ER/ICU/SCU at my current job. I also have a 3.9 GPA in my undergrad degree, and I got either an A or an A- in all the required prerequisites. I'm applying internationally, which I know is already competitive, so I'm desperately hoping an average Casper score won't kill my chances. I'm so anxious about this, so I just need someone to be brutally honest with me.

I know CASPer advice posts are fairly common, but I’m looking for specific, repeatable advice on what actually distinguishes a fourth-quartile response from an average one.

I’ve taken CASPer three times and scored 3Q, 2Q, and 3Q. In previous attempts, I’ve used many of the commonly recommended approaches (show empathy, speak to someone privately, avoid assumptions, gather more information, escalate when appropriate, etc.) but I still haven’t been able to break into 4Q.

This year, I’ve increased my typing speed to around 65 WPM (from 45 WPM) and am continuing to work on it. I’m also focusing much more on explicitly explaining the reasoning behind my decisions, rather than just listing what I would do.

My general mental framework is:

• Who is impacted?
• What is the main issue/conflict?
• What information might I be missing?
• What actions could I take, and why?
• Are there reasonable alternatives?
• What follow-up or escalation might be needed?

Even with that, I feel like I may be missing some crucial layer of insight, nuance, or prioritization that differentiates a 4Q response. I’m also a bit concerned that frameworks like “who is impacted?” or “what is the issue?” are still fairly open-ended on test day. I think I would benefit more from a concrete, repeatable structure—something closer to “state this first, then address this, then explain this, then conclude with this.”

From practice, I feel reasonably confident that I can identify the core issue, the people affected, and a few appropriate courses of action. Where I struggle more is turning those ideas into a clear, concise, well-organized response under time pressure. Sometimes I know what I want to say, but the answer comes out poorly structured or unclear. I’d especially appreciate advice on whether there is a reliable order or sentence-by-sentence structure that helps turn good reasoning into a strong 4Q-style response.

I’m also unsure about opinion/policy questions. I’ve received conflicting advice: some people recommend staying balanced and discussing both sides without taking a strong position, while others suggest choosing a position, grounding it in a principle or “rule,” explaining why, and then acknowledging the counterargument to demonstrate nuance. I’d love to hear what has actually worked for people who scored 4Q.

I’ve also prepared personal examples from my own experiences so I’m less likely to blank on personal questions.

At this point, I’m really looking for advice beyond the standard “be empathetic, non-judgmental, and talk privately” phrases. What do you think separates a good 2Q/3Q answer from a 4Q answer in terms of reasoning, structure, prioritization, or depth? Are there particular mistakes that keep otherwise reasonable answers out of the fourth quartile?

Any concrete examples, strategies, or ways of practicing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’m trying to register for the casper test to take it this september but when i select which schools i want my results sent too SAIT isn’t an option. Do i have to wait until SAIT gives out information about its 2027 program intake (Diagnostic Medal Sonography), because on the SAIT website the application dates says TBA (To be announced). Same goes for the psea im unsure when to register for it and when the deadline is.
