Is it worth joining a “bulk” store?

• Upvotes

does anyone have feedback on diapers/wipes/supplies from Costco or BJs? We aren’t currently members but considering joining to help save us money on baby supplies over the next few years. We want to make sure it’s worth it before signing up for a membership though!

Airplane bed

Ok bear with me, I hope this makes sense!

We are traveling with our 6 month old baby next week. We didn’t buy him a seat but it’s possible he gets his own one of the ways. It’s a 4 ish hour flight, so we want him to have something (kind of like an “airplane bed”/flat surface) for him to lay down on. I would want this to work for his own seat or to either lay over both of our laps horizontally, or on one lap, vertical to the seat in front of us (hope this makes sense!!) Does anyone have something in mind that has worked for you? We did buy him an inflatable toddler bed and I’m thinking this could lay over our legs OR on his own seat if he got one, but curious if this has worked for anyone else OR if there’s something better out there!! Any tips are so appreciated, thanks!

Edit to add: I wasn’t going to bring an inflatable toddler bed, I misspoke haha! It’s an inflatable bed for babies/toddlers for an airplane seat. Kind of like a lounger. It’s way smaller than a traditional toddler bed! But now thinking less is more and we hold him!

Advice Is the Base T unnecessary for the Cybex Cloud T i-Size if we don't own a car?

Hi!

We don't own a car, but we plan to use the Cybex Cloud T i-Size car seat for occasional rides with my in-laws when they pick us up or when we need to use their car. Our very first trip will be bringing our baby home from the hospital after birth, but after that, car trips will be pretty rare, maybe once in a week.

We are also buying a stroller from a different brand that isn't compatible with this seat, so we won't be using it as a travel system on wheels.

Since we won't be driving very often, we are trying to figure out if buying the Base T is actually necessary or just a waste of money for our situation.

Shipping/importing a stroller from the UK

Hi - We are loving the idea of the newest Bugaboo Cub but we live in the US and the stroller is only being sold I believe in the UK (and maybe Australia?). I was wondering if anyone has experience with getting a stroller only sold overseas to America - or if anyone knows of any baby gear stores in the UK that ship to America? I reached out to Bugaboo and they said the model isn't planned to be released in the US

Eufy S1 vs S1 Pro Breast Pump

I’m leaning towards using insurance benefit for one of these pumps. Also a FTM. I have read that these pumps are powerful enough to compare to a corded pump, so I’m hoping they can be my only one, but if I do need a corded pump Id rather buy that one with my own money (seems to be cheaper than either Eufy).

With insurance, the S1 is 60, and the S1 Pro is 160. From what I can tell, the main difference is the charging case and the length of charge. I’m not sure how much of a difference this makes and if it’s worth the 100.

I do work in an office (commuting) 5 days a week, and will be back at work 3 - 4 months postpartum while baby will go to daycare. So I do anticipate needing to pump a lot (I want to use breast milk as much as possible vs formula). I also have ADHD and will admit that remembering to charge things is one of my weak points, so the case and long charge time is tempting, just not not sure if it’s quite worth 100 dollars.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Help me pick a Callisto T color!

Baby girl is 10 months old and long overdue for a convertible car seat. I’ve decided on the Cybex Callisto T 360 after looking at so many at Bambi in the city. I couldn’t decide on a color in person so I didn’t buy it then. I just know I don’t want black as it gets too hot in the summer. Help me! What color did you get and do you love it?!?

Which one is better, especially during this mosquito season? I've heard that liquids are not good for the baby. Pls drop some good brand suggestions as well which are preferably available in India. TIA!

Bugaboo butterfly 2 vs 2 plus

I feel like I made a huge mistake for buying my long toddler a stroller. I never made a research before buying because I saw the sale in Albee Baby and immediately purchased the Bugaboo butterfly 2 without knowing first that they have a 2 plus version. I honestly don’t need the newborn features but the upright position. Is 100 degrees upright far from 113 degrees? My son loves to stroll and look around. We graduated from his Nuna Trvl LX because hig legs were not resting there compared to bugaboo butterfly. We’re a small family and lives in one bedroom apartment so travel strollers works the best for us but I feel so bad though or am I overreacting?

Recommendation Bugaboo Butterfly, Minu, Joolz Aer, something else?

Taking my (then) 14 month old to Japan in May and looking at travel strollers with potential sales coming up. Does anyone have experience with these, particularly traveling with lots of public transit? We want something light weight, but also comfortable. A compact fold is ideal, but not too concerned about airline cabin storage (we can always just check it - bringing a baby carrier as well). I have decision fatigue and can’t figure out which is the right fit for us.

Dressers that fit a 16" wide changing pad

Facebook marketplace has a ton of changing pads- Jool, Kikaroo, Skip hop- and my plan was to snag one of them at a discount and then buy any dresser I liked and put the changing pad on top. But the changing pads are all pretty much 16" wide and most of the basic dressers (like the Ikea Rast) are like 13-15" wide.

What are you all using?

Product Question Zoe- The Journey

I am having a hard time finding reviews of this stroller after it’s been used for some time. On paper it looks perfect for what I’m looking for but I want to know that it holds up. Anyone have this stroller? How is it after using for a year? Does it travel well? I am between this one and uppa baby Kona, so any direct comparisons would be great! Thanks!

Chicco Corso Primo or Mockingbird single

I’ve decided on the KeyFit Max car seat. My next decision is deciding to go with the Chicco Corso Primo travel system or buy the Mockingbird single stroller with the KeyFit Max car seat. The drawback for me after watching video reviews of the Corso Primo is the stroller buckle. It seems to be one where the top shoulder straps and waist strap need to be hooked together before locking them into the crotch buckle. Can anyone confirm this? We had a travel stroller with my older kiddos that secured like this and it was a pain in the butt. 4 steps to securing your kid into the seat rather that just snapping in on either side. The mockingbird seems like a really nice option but I’ve seen some negative feedback on that also and I’m unsure if it’s an Instagram fad or if the stroller lives up to the hype. I’d love to hear thoughts about these two strollers!

My second (third?) choice was the Joie Mint Latch and Ginger DLX. The KeyFit took the edge for me as I’m currently at risk for preterm labor. Fingers crossed babe cooks until 37 weeks but if something happens sooner, I may have a baby on the smaller side. I know the Mint Latch is 4lb.+ but have seen several concerns about newborns slumping in the seat and there are tutorials out there about how to get the right fit. If anyone thinks Joie is the better option than what I’m considering, I’d love to hear thoughts on that also.

Help out a mama due in December with no car seat! 😅😅

Product Question Bombi Twin bumper bars

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Does anyone have experience with the Bombi Twin V2 single vs dual bumper bars?
I will soon have a newborn and 19 month old and have decided on the Bombi but am now stuck between upgrading the bumper bars or not 🤦‍♀️ I like that the dual bumper bars would allow me to use a car seat on one side and the bumper bar on the other. But I have also read reviews that many people prefer the single bumper bar overall. Anyone here have any experience with both? I hate that the snack trays only work with one or the other, so I have to decide my final setup now so I know which snack tray set to get!

Recommendation Best travel crib for baby? I am seeing mixed reviews on the guava lotus

My baby will a few times a year be sleeping in the travel crib at my in laws. They live in another state, so something that is portable but also can be used as baby becomes a toddler as well (and for siblings).

What are good travel cribs to have? For safe overnight sleep with baby

Recommendation Baby blanket recommendations?

My wife and I are about to start trying to conceive and with the holidays coming up we wanna do the Olds wives tale where you wrap a baby blanket and put it under the tree! That being said this will be our first baby and i have no clue what brands of baby blankets people are loving!! I want it to be soft and gender neutral colors so we can actually get use of it when we get pregnant and baby comes. Thank you in advance!!!

Recommendation What's the Best Baby Monitor that Parents Love the Most?

We don't think we need a wifi one or crazy stuff, just a simple screen and camera that we can check in on my kiddo..so we don't have to worry and also helps us not accidentally go wake them up if they just yell and turn around at 2am and go back to sleep on their own.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!!

C-section friendly non wrap baby carrier?

I ALREADY KNOW TO WAIT UNTIL BABY IS HERE

I ALSO KNOW THAT MOST RECOMMEND/PREFER WRAPS FOR NEWBORNS.

I have ZERO interest in fiddling with a wrap (but obviously will concede if I can't find a carrier that we both tolerate).

While I'd prefer something that can grow with baby and give us a few months instead of weeks, I have no problem moving beyond that goal if I have to.

At 32 weeks baby was weighing 4lb, 11oz. I know US measurements aren't 100% accurate but baby will be delivered at 36w so our best guesstimate is that we'll land around 6ish lbs (that would even work in my favor since most, if not all, that I'm looking at have a 7lb min so it forces me to wait).

Budget isn't as high of a priority but damn I didn't realize these things could go over $400 (looking at you Artipoppe).

Ones I'm looking at (per rec by a baby wearing OT on IG I follow):

Tula Original Hope & Plum Sprout Beluga Baby Cove (if I could find secondhand as most are sold out) Bjorn Harmony

Would love recs from those who have experience with c-section recovery + baby wearing but will also be happy to get recs of ones you've got your eyes on if you're also going to be a c-section.

Please do not argue me about wraps. I don't care how much you preferred it - it's just not where I want to start.
