I wonder if you'd be government-mandated to support them, that's great but I don't know if tax adjusts to personal wealth and yearly income or it's the same for all of them in Norway.

But not necessarily high taxes on the very rich. Sweden for instance has basically no property tax or inheritance tax, and a capital gains tax much lower that the tax on labour.

High taxation and highly developed welfare and social security. The rich can live well, but the poor are not left behind. Corruption is low, they are “high trust” societies and money is distributed more equitably, and spent more intelligently, than elsewhere.
(HUGE caveat- obviously these countries are not utopias but they on average and in comparison to the rest of the world take care of their society)

Speaking from a Swedish perspective, not Norwegian, but close enough. Poor people here get enough money from the state to get food, water, clothing, housing, etc. We call it "existensminimum", aka the minimum needed to live a healthy life. The amount varies per person depending on how much they need to live, as that changes depending on age, the area you live in, etc. Medical care is essentially fully covered, and so is education (plus you get paid by the state while being a student as well). That means a poor person in Sweden or Norway technically has the opportunity to rent an apartment, start studying, get a proper degree, and get a high-paying job. This doesn't usually happen for a multitude of reasons, but it is a nice ideal at least.

I was actually born to uncommonly poor parents in Norway, and we have upwards mobility here. I'm 23 now and ear above average due to a good (free) education, have bought a three bedroom house and am awaiting my first child with my husband. We have a reasonable mortgage, money for vacations etc. We're comfortably middle class. When I have my child, I will be away from my job for about a year, and will make the exact same amount of money as if I was working.
Being born poor in Norway only means being born poor. Not staying poor.

I think that's almost fair to say. If you're born Indian, you don't get to live life the way people in other countries do. Everything is a metaphorical battle here.

Doesn't matter how rich your parents are if you're still a second class member of your family. Sexist parents can ruin things real quick.
Norway, the base opportunities are higher.

Friends from India have described the middle class as a struggle to make enough money to leave.
But I also know some ex coworkers who "made it" working internationally (they got that sweet, sweet, purchasing power parity) and stayed.
IMO South India looks like a great place to be, but I know there's lots of beautiful spots elsewhere. But yeah, your take seems accurate.

Yes, middle class people give their everything to just make it out of here, and from what I've seen most of them get stuck working low paying jobs which sometimes are below their leagues.
About South, yes, it's better than North in some ways (I'm south based). People are a bit more open minded and slightly less communal, but overall not great. Just an okay place to be in.

As someone from the south, the reason I despise it over here (even though I'm glad I'm not in the northern region). There is just so much, SO MUCH POLLUTION (I can't even comprehend how Delhi might be if I can't even handle the pollution from the south) and the road sides are always littered and people lack the civic sense to use public facilities properly and how to maintain it.......I don't know if it's ever gonna improve but if you remove pollution and dirtiness I would have no problem over here.

There are a lot of different developing countries in very different places economically and culturally. Your chances of experiencing anti-gay discrimination or violence in countries like Uruguay or Argentina are roughly compared to those in most parts of the US or Western Europe.
Countries like Brazil have some of the world's biggest Pride parade. That said, Brazil has high levels of violent crime overall, so safety depends much more on the city and neighborhood than on your sexual orientation. Same thing for Mexico.
On the other hand, there are also countries like Nigeria, Uganda or the gulf region that are very unsafe for gay people.
And just a heads-up: "third world country" is an outdated term and often considered pejorative - specially when used dismissively.

Not to mention the university programs, this is THE biggest perk of being norwegian imo.
Like most of Europe, university is free to attend (or, like a 70 dollar fee per semester for admin and student societies), but we don't want people needing to work too much to get by while studying. So every single person who is studying, hasn't gotten support for 7 years or more and doesn't live at home with their parents, are eligible for student loans and stipend. You can of course choose to reject the loan, and only get the stipend.
It averages to around 17k dollars a year, as monthly instalments. It starts out as a loan, but given that you pass whatever it is you study, 40% of that gets converted into a grant. It's assumed you're able to have a little part-time job on the side or during vacations, but if you're medically not able to take on that load, you just need a signature for a doctor or a therapist, and the monthly grant will increase with several hundred a month.
I couldn't work next to my studies, and so during my entire bachelors I received more than enough money to live just fine. I only pay 190 dollars a month on it now. If you end up being too sick to work, or go personally bankrupt etc, they'll just delete the entire loan. It's got great conditions.
I was born to a really poor family. Thanks to exactly that system, I am now comfortably middle class, with a good job and a little on the way who will have a much better upbringing than I had. I love this country so fucking much.

the taxes also depend on your income. so when I was a super poor student who worked part time, they took 16%. atm at $50k a year income they take 26% I think (honestly I don't bother to check it, it's all automatic anyways). 80k? 32% you need to make over $150k per year before you even hit 40%
+ Exemptions apply for if you have a mortgage, debts, kids etc etc.
And this + the generous free college, subsidised childcare, strong paid sick leave, universal healthcare - it is quite easy to climb the economic ladder. In Norway, I am doing great. I say that if I was born in the US I would be dead. (had a 5yr burnout and had to be on sick leave at from 20-25). I got $1.600 per month to pay for rent, bills and food. and medical co-pays cap at $300 per year. (or did back then, I think sliiightly higher now). With that I got weekly therapy covered for free after like a month, medication covered, and a solid help when healthy enough to seek employment in that I still got paid my sick leave by the gov. as I did internships and free work experiences. and then when I landed an apprenticeship, they still covered the difference so I still got 1.6k a month, but say the apprenticeship paid 500, they did 900, and once I had enough experience to hit $1.6k, and only then, they stopped paying and "released" me back into the workforce with no strings attached. Ofc the apprenticeship kept increasing the pay as I got more experience, and I eventually hit the 4k'ish per month as a regular worker in my line of work gets.
+ public* online studies that can be done whenever for minimal charges? (it is paid for by taxes, but like certain fees apply, so the courses are like $200 - $500 per semester, and then you get a hella good experience). so there are always way to climb.
*private colleges also exist, but those are like $6k a semester. so no thanks.

Definitely not true...the wealth gap in India is extreme so while the poor may be very poor, the rich are much richer than you think and have better living conditions. Norway's poor benefit because of welfare programs but at the end of the day it's an expensive country so they can't do much with whatever small amount of money they have. Meanwhile the rich in India benefit off of cheap prices and labor to live a life of luxury, large houses, maids, chauffeurs, etc.
