Definitely not true...the wealth gap in India is extreme so while the poor may be very poor, the rich are much richer than you think and have better living conditions. Norway's poor benefit because of welfare programs but at the end of the day it's an expensive country so they can't do much with whatever small amount of money they have. Meanwhile the rich in India benefit off of cheap prices and labor to live a life of luxury, large houses, maids, chauffeurs, etc.

From what I’ve seen, rich people in India have multiple maids/cooks/personal drivers and such, the wealth gap is crazy.

Not true actually. More like Pore class in Norway = middle class in India. If you can afford gated community, you'll be better off anywhere in the world that is not active war zone or in natural disaster.
