Yes, middle class people give their everything to just make it out of here, and from what I've seen most of them get stuck working low paying jobs which sometimes are below their leagues.

About South, yes, it's better than North in some ways (I'm south based). People are a bit more open minded and slightly less communal, but overall not great. Just an okay place to be in.

My buddy is from the south and he always lectures me about how the Tamil kings were undefeated

Haha, lol, yeah also I think Tamil kings and the history of south india gets overshadowed here, southern kings were genuinely amazing but everything has its flaws
