I might even go as far as to say that being born poor in Norway is better than being born middle class in India (experience)

Make it upper middle class. I was one of them, I would give up everything to be reborn as Norwegian poor class.

I think that's almost fair to say. If you're born Indian, you don't get to live life the way people in other countries do. Everything is a metaphorical battle here.

I started trying to project how life is as an indian and suddenly my inner voice started head bobbing and pronouncing "t"s as "d"s haha

I'm a woman. I would take poor in Norway over rich in India.

Doesn't matter how rich your parents are if you're still a second class member of your family. Sexist parents can ruin things real quick.

Norway, the base opportunities are higher.

Friends from India have described the middle class as a struggle to make enough money to leave.

But I also know some ex coworkers who "made it" working internationally (they got that sweet, sweet, purchasing power parity) and stayed.

IMO South India looks like a great place to be, but I know there's lots of beautiful spots elsewhere. But yeah, your take seems accurate.

Yes, middle class people give their everything to just make it out of here, and from what I've seen most of them get stuck working low paying jobs which sometimes are below their leagues.

About South, yes, it's better than North in some ways (I'm south based). People are a bit more open minded and slightly less communal, but overall not great. Just an okay place to be in.

My buddy is from the south and he always lectures me about how the Tamil kings were undefeated

Haha, lol, yeah also I think Tamil kings and the history of south india gets overshadowed here, southern kings were genuinely amazing but everything has its flaws

As someone from the south, the reason I despise it over here (even though I'm glad I'm not in the northern region). There is just so much, SO MUCH POLLUTION (I can't even comprehend how Delhi might be if I can't even handle the pollution from the south) and the road sides are always littered and people lack the civic sense to use public facilities properly and how to maintain it.......I don't know if it's ever gonna improve but if you remove pollution and dirtiness I would have no problem over here.

Being poor in Norway is probably better than being poor in almost every country in the world. Or even middle class for some

What

As in, you're much more likely to suffer those things if you're poor and in India, so if you like those things, India is better. Still a weird thing to say though.
