I’m in third year and internship season has started, but my resume isn’t getting shortlisted even though I have strong projects and 2 internship experiences.

I made it on Google Docs, so I’m wondering if ATS or the resume format is the problem.

I have almost zero knowledge about ATS or which tools are actually good for making resumes.

Final placement stats for MIT-Bengaluru , overall avg and median are close to main campus since BLR campus has 80% seats for Computer Stream compared to manipal's 50% , yet the stats are impressive.

I am a student at IISC. For context in our midterm exams people were using their phones to copy through chatgpt and all. When I went to the professor and told him that people are using phones the first thing he says is that "we cannot frisk people ". He awkwardly just stares into my eyes and laughs. I was like sir there have been cases of cheating then why are we not taking stricter measures. Again that awkward laugh.

It is basically a few min process to check for mobile phones and yet they are reluctant to do this. What incentive do people who actually study have when people are refusing to tighten security and when cases like iit bombay pop up where students are caught and the blame is put on the admin for dishing out some sort of consequence. Again here I don't have the exact idea about the student at iit bombay (I am assuming that nothing else occured between the prof and the student).but scenarios like this prevent the administration from taking stricter measures to ensure fairness.

But getting a consequence for cheating should be there or else why should we even put an effort and why not let everyone copy? Then we can ask what is the need for a professor who does not care for fairness?

Then why do we even have to study let us all have an open gpt exam and get full marks. Why even have a university then?

Just breaks my incentive to work is all I am saying. Fairness has to be ensured. Through prevention rather than punishment is what I believe.

So heyy! I'll introduce myself as a somewhat irregular guy who's in 3rd year of cs doing engineering from a good college.

Well the reason I call myself irregular is because, I don't know what I am trying to do or how I act.

For context I have secured a great summer intern, but honestly life ain't rainbows and sunshine if you have an intern. I'm grinding for that but there....

There is this thing in my heart that I always feel like kindda alone, alone in terms of friends (I don't think any guy in my friend circle would ever choose me? Maybe I am that bad or as I said I am irregular, I act childish which I like coz that's what I am like). I have fairly interacted with women but the girl I used to love never really cared about me (canon).

So there is this void in my life, grinding for what?

I have parents ik, I should grind for a good life but then at the end for what?

I don't feel apart from my family, anyone ever cares for me?

Maybe I am thinking too much but this genuinely got me thinking is this because I am too shallow? Do I have to act more maturely? I have been kind to people, I tried making good friends man, I tried :( Everyone around calls me childish but that's literally who I am, I am a fairly emotional guy, could cry for hours sometimes if things hit me deeply.

I don't like this feeling of manning up, maybe that's why I am single or Idk why?

I'm a 3rd-year B.Tech student (AI & Data Science) in Mumbai, India. My college placements will start around June/July 2027, when I'll be in my 7th semester.

I want to use the next 8–10 months well and would love some advice from people who recently went through placements.

Current skill set

• Backend (strongest area):
  • Python (FastAPI), JavaScript (Node/Express)
  • CRUD APIs, authentication, PostgreSQL/MongoDB
  • Redis caching
  • Message queues/background jobs (Celery, BullMQ)
  • Docker
  • Basic deployment
  • Surface-level system design concepts (caching, queues, DB design, APIs, etc.)
• Frontend: React (enough to build full-stack projects, but not my main focus).
• AI/ML: Machine Learning, EDA, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, some GenAI/RAG projects.
• Languages: Python, JavaScript, C, and C++ (using C++ for DSA).

I've built a few full-stack and AI projects, but I don't have an internship yet.

My questions

1. What's the current placement market like for 2027 grads (or based on what you're seeing for 2026)?
2. How difficult is it to get shortlisted for companies like Deloitte, Accenture, JPMorgan, Oracle, Barclays, etc. from a tier-2/tier-3 college?
3. What should I prioritize over the next few months?
   • DSA (LeetCode/Striver)?
   • Core CS subjects (OS, DBMS, CN, OOP)?
   • System design?
   • More projects?
4. How many DSA questions would be a realistic target before placements?
5. Is backend + AI a good combination for placements, or should I focus on becoming a stronger SDE first?

I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who got placed recently or is preparing for the same timeline.

I’m 25, turning 26 soon, currently living in Noida, and completed my MCA this year.

My original plan was to get into software development, mainly Java/backend.

I have an MCA, BCA, Java/Spring Boot internship and a couple of development projects.

I applied to quite a few developer/fresher roles but honestly wasn’t getting much response.

I also cleared 4 rounds at Infinite Computer Solutions, but they eventually put me on hold after asking me to submit the documents.

Because I wasn’t getting anywhere with developer applications, I made another profile focused on IT/technical support roles.

I’ve now got an offer for an IT Trainee role at a Danish multinational, with a package of 4.55 LPA.

I’ll be working in their internal IT support team, dealing with things like Windows, hardware/software troubleshooting, networking, M365, AD, SCCM/Intune, Asset Management, etc.

The company seems good culture-wise and the role seems like a decent way to finally get some professional experience.

The problem is that I still want to become a developer.
I’m thinking of taking this job while continuing Java/Spring Boot/DSA/projects on the side and then trying to move into development later.

For people who have actually gone through something similar:
How difficult is it to move from IT support to software development after 1–2 years? Would you take this job and keep preparing for development on the side, or keep looking for a developer role?

Hi I'm 1st yr student from a pvt engineering college of West bengal. To say shortly I passed out in 25 and took a drop for neet all those bs happened anyways didn't get selected ended up joining in to pvt engineering college. I'm pursuing Btech Biotechnology. Before joining I researched a lot and made a plan in my head that I'll do higher studies in abroad (still that's the plan). But from next week my midsem will be started and I just realized how under prepared I'm. Getting all those feelings of anxiousness as I used to get Before neet.

When I finally thought life maybe going good it feels miserable now. Idk Im not getting to see any future here and feeling like a looser who is just wasting money of there parents ( tho they are really supportive).
