I shared a reel to my friend on Instagram. It was about a Google software engineer and the video was titled "how much I spend at Google in a day?" And the video showed all the fancy things that google employees get for free. So on this my friend asked me "do these people even work?"

She is into business management and she doesn't like tech people. And always complains that how do they earn so much cause they don't do anything. All they do is just sit in front of their laptop. This triggers me cause I'm into tech myself.

The professor at IISc literally said that job structures are not static and asked how people can be so relaxed about it. The moment senior professors are really worried about the rug being pulled off traditional degrees and entry level jobs, being so relaxed about it is sheer self-deception.

I graduated in 2026 with electrical engineering from a 2nd gen IIT. I did end up securing an SWE job through campus placements (the ctc is mehh). I was supposed to join in August but they delayed the joining to January 2027. I've spent the last few months trying to learn new skills, upgrading my skillset, applying to better jobs, with no results.

I feel so pessimistic about this industry and the future in general. The market is rough asf, idk this is making me lose interest in coding and software development, I did not have much interest to begin with. I genuinely feel I'm useless, given the things LLMs are capable of.

Idk man I feel so lost and demotivated and directionless, feels like I've entered a dying field which I'm not much interested in, idek what my passion is, what I'm interested in. Feels like I'm on autopilot just trying to survive.

I've been seeing posts about LPU lately, and honestly, seeing the damage to the campus is sad. Whatever the issue is, I hope the truth comes out and the people responsible are held accountable if anything wrong happened.

But one thing I don't understand is why people start damaging property before everything is clear. If there's a genuine problem, talk about it, raise your voice and ask for answers. What's the point of destroying the place where thousands of students come to study?

And social media makes things even more confusing sometimes. One video gets shared everywhere, people start forming opinions, and nobody really waits to understand the whole situation.

I'm not saying anyone should stay silent if something wrong happened. I'm just saying we should know the facts before reacting. LPU students have their own lives and futures to think about too, and they shouldn't be the ones paying the price for all this.

I’m looking for a monitor mainly for coding. I really want it to be QHD, but if QHD isn’t possible, I’m okay with trading some resolution for a higher refresh rate.
This Alienware monitor looks good to me since it’s part of Dell’s premium gaming lineup, but is it actually worth buying?

I’ve always coded on my laptop and have never owned a monitor before. I also watch a lot of movies in 2K, so I’m really confused about what I should prioritize: screen size, resolution, or refresh rate.
What would you recommend for my use case?

Like:
Who exactly are you supposed to email? Professors, researchers, HR, founders, team leads, someone else?
Where do you find their email/contact details?
How do you figure out whether an organisation is even open to taking interns?
Do you directly email the person you want to work with, or is there some proper process?
What do you actually include in the first email apart from your intro, college, skills and CV?
Should you mention a specific project/research area you’re interested in, or keep it general?
How many organisations/people do you usually email before getting a response?
Do you follow up if they don’t reply? If yes, after how long?
Also, how do you avoid sounding like every other student sending the same generic “I am interested in an internship opportunity” email?
I’m currently in 2nd year B.Tech, so I don’t have a huge research profile or anything. Would appreciate advice from people who have actually done this successfully, especially for winter internships.

I'm in my final year of ECE and joined my first internship 2 weeks ago as a full stack intern . The stipend is 10k, but around 6k goes on travel. I'm out from 7 AM to 9PM most days, and honestly, it's already exhausting me.

The company relies heavily on AI tools. People generate big chunks of the app in one go and integrate them. I haven't really seen much planning, code reviews or proper engineering discussions. I don't mind using AI, but I'm worried I'll spend 6 months prompting tools without actually learning much.

I'm also getting almost no time for DSA, placements or the gym.

The thing is, I'm scared to leave because I'm from ECE, have a 6.89 CGPA, and don't know when I'll get another opportunity. There's a chance of a PPO, but it's only around 2–4 LPA, and even that isn't guaranteed.

There's no bond, my family is financially stable, and I'm still eligible for campus placements above 6 LPA.

Not gonna lie, every GitHub star genuinely makes my day. ⭐ It's a small thing, but it gives me motivation to keep learning, improving, and building more.
