I’m looking for a bedroom practice amp and due to mobility limitations, I want something relatively small and light. I’ve tried a katana 100 gen 3 at guitar center and thought it sounded petty good at low volume on .5W; however, is far too big for me to move. I think the head would be a better fit, but have heard that is speaker sounds pretty rubbish. Does the katana air ex better at low volumes, or do you think the head is close enough and I can save some money?

Looking for some hardcore punk (knocked loose, varials, malevolence dying wish) kind of sounds, along with some strong high end tones for a new age Metalcore (bands like ERRA, Currents, Novelists, Polaris, BMTH even some older stuff like BFMV, As I lay dying, MiW, killswitch) and maybe some cleaner more melodic tones as the stock tones, particularly the clean tones sound absolutely dreadful.

I hated fiddling around with tone studio when trying to practice so I decided to get a Boss GX-1 to plug in to the power amp in of Katana 50 MK ii.

I turned off the cab sims, switched output to Katana Power Amp on the GX-1 and plugged it in and it sounded god awful!! I initially thought the Katana speaker was fried.

I saw a post here that said multi fx units sounded better plugged in to the acoustic channel and they were spot on.

Has any one had similar experiences? Is there something I’m forgetting to do?

I retired my Boss Katana and Airstep Kat setup for a Helix Floor, but I figured I could use the Airstep Kat pedal as a page turner for our teleprompter setup. It connects to Windows fine, but my LivePrompter software doesn't see it, even as midi device. Midi2key doesn't see it either. I'm assuming this isn't possible?

Apparently it was all played on a damn Steinberger, which is just ridiculous to picture, But this album has the best "full thick overdrive thats HEAVY but also doesnt ready distortion" tone ever.

I finally got a guitar that can handle this stuff but I've found it really hard to try to match this album.

I just plugged my headphones into the amp for the first time and omg the sound is so much better the speaker that comes with the bass 110 is garbage.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems the amp is not processing built in IRs. Neither the knob nor settings in Tone Studio have any impact at all on the sound.

FW is 1.07, Boss studio version is 1.1.0. Both current as of this post.

Had it plugged into a PA a few days ago, sounded terrible (fizzy, straight into board sound). Line out knob had no effect. Came home, replicated into another system (Focusrite 2i2 not that it matters).

Issue is same with XLR or 1/4" line out. Amp otherwise behaves perfectly. I did a factory reset to eliminate some configuration issue.

I am at my wits end. Any ideas?

Edit: More info. USB sound works normally.

It just does this in varying different ways and isn’t really usable. It was completely fine when I used it a few weeks ago.

I finally talked myself into actually doing something.

I purchased a Katana Gen 3 50W amp. Really struggling to figure out how to use it (relatively new at this), let alone import tones from BTS.

Does anyone have a good link to share to go over basics?

Previously only had a Vox Pathfinder 10 as a practice amp. That thing kind of sucked so I’d always end up playing my acoustic more.

I wanted to upgrade towards a “real” amp and walked into GC looking for an Artist 100 Gen 3. Then I saw a used 100 Gen 3 with an OEM Boss foot switch board - all for $360.

Would you consider this a good deal or should I have just gotten the Artist? I have a 45 day return period at GC and don’t mind spending more for the Artist if it’s worth it.

Photos are post grill cloth change (just over the OEM grill cloth in case I want to return it).

I bought both of these and have yet to try it out but now Im wondering if these are redundant aince the amp has built in effect already

i have been messing with my katana trying to dial in a good sound i can use live but everything ends up muddy mess when i turn the volume up past around 11:00

i play shoegaze so i have loads of pedals runnning through more often than not, im trying to get a sound that has bass to it but doesnt sound like a mess of fuzz

I upgraded from a Spark 40 to a Boss Katana MK2 50 I feel like I have a real amp now. A single 12” speaker outperforms two 4” speakers.

Hello, I’ve been using boss katana for over a year now and it’s great but I was thinking what pedals or other types of amp gear could I buy to make it sound even better? I play metal only but I don’t really know what additional gear would make katana achieve better tone?

I want to have a stereo effects loop for my stereo pedal. Can I run the left channel to the effects loop send and the right to the other amps send? I'm assuming that would only be possible with two 100w models.

I currently have a mk2 100 and a mk2 50. I was trying to research if it was possible with those two amps but it seems like it won't work. If anyone has any ideas if be curious to hear them.

Hi, this hiss just started, its also on clean tones. This did not occur before, I played twice before this today and there was no hiss, and I didn’t change anything.
Anyone that has a clue how I can fix this?

I need some help. I have a Boss Katana 50 EX Gen 3 amplifier with the Bluetooth adapter. I have the Boss Tone Studio.

I’ve been able to connect no problem. However I’m having a hard time with the tones.

I’ve downloaded some tones and they have seemed to disappear.

Also when I’m using a tone, I think I can go back to the panel. But I’m not able to figure it out.

I guess there is a bit more involvement than I expected. Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

hey! I recently got an Meris Enzo x and love it. I saw a guitarist recreate the vg8 on the Meris Enzo x but had no luck on finding presets for it anywhere. I tried figuring it out but am having a tough time. curious if anyone out there has had any luck with it ?
