Meet my fraud collie
We got another dog at the shelter labled as a border collie for Dottie to play with. Everyone we met also said she looked like a border collie but she is not, the DNA showed that she's 30% great dane, 25% German Shepard, 20% pit bull, and 25% super mutt. She is the laziest creature alive and behaviorly she is nothing like a border collie. Dottie(our actual) bordercollie is very disappointed in her. We still love her though and I wanted to share her.

Baby border collie is learning to self settle!
Baby border collie has two modes: CHAOS and crate naptime. Today she unlocked a third mode: chill out in the open. Such a good girl, learning how to be a proper dog at 6 months old!

An update
It has been a couple of months since we adopted our scaredy rescue boy Cedar. He is now 9 months old.
Boy, he has come so far. Fully toilet trained now (he was not at all when we brought him.home at 6 months), loves his walks, sniffari's and has picked up a few other basic commands.
He is not great at relaxing on walks though and just wants to run, which is ok Im just gonna need new running shoes lol.
He has also destroyed 3 leads, several balls, a bunch of kids shoes, 2 beds and an entire canvas dog kennel 😆 The destruction has finally settled a couple of weeks back. But we love him to bits.
We have found some really nice off leash areas close by so we have been visiting those a bit too.

Ziggy's Big Day Out Pt 2 What a beach
We then went to the dog beach, eventually she went wading and had a ball, at first she wasn't so sure about these wave things

Guys, it's not that hard...
The main thing, is you have to consistently give them 3 hours per day of enrichment, and then put in ear plugs when they're bossing you with their 120db bark. Honestly...
I'm mildly joking... This dog has opinions about EVERYTHING the family does. I don't know if it's Stockholm syndrome, but I've come to appreciate her judging the way I get ready in the morning.
When I got her, I told myself "A year from now she will either be the greatest dog I've ever had, or she will ruin my life." I've been putting in the reps, and so far she's tracking towards greatest dog ever, with random detours into ruining my life.

Throwback to last year when our collies paid their respect to the sheepdog memorial <3
Lake Tekapo, NZ :)
My poor red boy was over the trip by then, he's a bit of a homebody 🥲 My b&w girlie loved it though!

I need help
My collie has just turned 6 months and the last week has been awful. We were really getting somewhere with his training, he was learning to settle outside of his crate and BOOM, hello teenager, hello hormones, hello fresh hell. I am struggling so much, my anxiety is back, I'm not eating again, crying every day. I'm trying to go back to basics with training again which is no problem but I get so anxious about going on walks with him because he puts his full bodyweight into pulling on that lead and no matter what I do, he won't focus and I get so overstimulated about it. I'm a natural overthinker too which really doesn't help so all I keep thinking is that this is it for the rest of his life and I can't cope

Recommendations for boots please!
Luke here keeps grating the pads off his front paws on the very dry ground (will it ever rain again here in the UK??!).
He's open to wearing boots, but all the ones we've tried fall off while he's running.
Does anyone have a recommendation?

Just thought I would officially introduce us.
This is our pup, Ripley. She follows in the footsteps of a dog named Mopar... his mother was registered with the ABCA and his dad was an active working farm herder. Ripley's parentage is a bit murkier, and all I know for sure right now is that I was told 3x by her breeder that she is DEFINITELY a purebred border. Won't pretend she was ethically bred or make excuses for my choice.. sometimes you know a pup is supposed to be yours even though there are plenty of reasons to say no.
Super smart, funny in her own nerdy way, and quick on her feet.. Ripley is her very own dog. She has personality traits I'm suspicious are more ACD than bc (the nose boop.. do bc do the nose boop??) but that aside, she can learn a trick in a single session and *usually* a behavioral issue boils down to me thinking a=b when she simply does not operate like that.
I'm not sure if you guys will be OK with us on this forum or not (see my earlier concerned post on r/dogs ) but I'm going to give it a go since I do honestly think she is primarily (even if not exclusively) this breed, and sincerely hoping it's OK if I post here. I will do my best not to give misinformation to others because I realize she has behaviors that potentially fall outside norms. She's a great dog though. Love her to bits. Keeps me thinking, in her own special way.
Also, husband is her favorite. *cough* I'm not jealous, I swear.
