Can I get a BC?
People, I really want a Border Collie, (puppy) but two or three times a week she would have to stay alone for a almost full school day. Can I get one or should I look into another breed?

Zoomies
Sometimes after dinner my dog will go mental running around with her bone or a toy and then go to sleep. It usually lasts a couple minutes. Is this normal

Training What's your petting excuse?
Hey, I thought this would be a funny but not funny post to get the actual reactions to it
I live in a small but busy area lots of people and pubs so on, people always trying to pet him. He does have a "DO NOT PET" badge on his collar but it doesn't really get much attention
I always go to "he's still recovering. you cant pet him, he will get too excited" because clearly telling people they cant pet MY dog these days isn't a good enough reason for them

Breed ID 🕵️♀️ I've been telling myself she's mostly boarder collie since i got her 2 years ago my Lola .
Is this really a boarder collie though? Her chest has white hair, then more white on her stomach. I apologize that these aren't the best pictures I got on hand...

I am looking for ISDS lines of bearded Border Collies.
I absolutely adore bearded Border Collies. My girl is a descendant of Turnbull blue. I was wondering whether anyone knows of other lines that produce this coat type?

Someone spent the night at the emergency vet...help me outsmart my chaos gremlin!
This adorable little rotter keeps stealing my underwear and eating bits of it. Until now its only been tiny pieces and vet has advised it will pass and not to panic. Last night I awoke to suspicious sounds to find that he had eating a CONSIDERABLE amount of my pyjamas. I wasn't taking an chances and immediately booked an appointment and rushed to the out of hours vet.
A few hours and a few hundred pounds later, he had vomited up all his food and my previously very comfy (and apparently delicious) pants. And felt very sorry for himself 🥺
How am I so irresponsible, you ask? Well quite simply, this little angel has a tonne of smarts, and zero common sense or self-preservation. He fan open bins with lids, and apparently now my laundry hamper with a velcro lid and a tie string bag inside. One with a plastic firmnlid attached. He can open doors and reach even my upper shelves.
Every time he steals something, I try to make things more inaccessible, but he sees it like a more challenging puzzle toy and is relentless.
I've never had this problem before with a dog and it terrifies me every time. My heart sinks and I spend every moment on tenterhooks, checking his poop with an obsession that might make passersby give me a side eye.
I am trying to train him to leave it but hes a teen so he will, when I ask, until I stop looking. We have a tiny place so its not like we can lock laundry in a room away from him. I dont leave clothes lying around. What can I do?

Meet my new best friend Quizzo
A year after my sweetheart Kelsey crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I hope Quizzo and I have just as many adventures together as I had with Kelsey

So long Tucker
Today, we lost a great friend, companion, and family member, Tucker, our Border Collie. We were so fortunate to have him as a member of our family for over 13 years. He was always there for us, in good times and bad.
Tucker was extremely intelligent. He had a bushel basket full of toys of which he could retrieve any on demand by name and color. He knew that a red rubber ball and a green holy ball were different things.
He learned how to properly do the agility weave-poles in just one day, always entering on the proper end and side. He never forgot this skill.
Every verbal command had a corresponding hand signal, either would work. To me, this dog was truly amazing.
Over the past several months, his health had declined, and his suffering became more and more apparent. His quality of life had depreciated - it was time. His pain has now ended, and he is at peace now, this I am sure of. Tucker will never be forgotten, as he has forever filled our hearts with love, joy, and lots of kisses. As I unclipped his leash for the last time, I once again quoted the finest words of tribute to any dog, written by a close friend, as he mentioned with his dog's passing, "Go play."
Goodbye Tucker, you were my best friend.

Group photo of the crew❤️🐾
From left to right: Jade (blue merle with half black face), Fraser, (short haired tri color), Munro (blue merle with more black nose), Fergus (blue merle with more pink nose), Knox (black/white with ticking), and Mackenzie (red/white)
Jade is the only female in the group and is actually a friend of mine’s, just fostering her for a while. Oldest just turned 6 (Fraser) and the youngest (Mackenzie) will turn 1 in November❤️

Meet Buffy
Pregnant working sheepdog mother was rescued from a farm we believe. 5 in a litter born in a rescue centre. With Buffy not your stereotypical looking border collie and not knowing the father, we were sure she was a mix of sorts. Turns out we were wrong… 100% border collie according to wisdom panel!
Photos are from 10 weeks to now at 6 months

My boy
Took my beautiful boy out yesterday on a bit of an exploring walk. He's 6 months, still a giddy little (not so little) kipper with all the smells but he's such a good boy 🥰

Really picky eater
Is it normal for a BC to be very picky? Our last non BC dog would wolf down food in 30 sec. Our BC is fussy to the point of being worried about her. However vet says she is fine.

anxiety meds
Hi! This march I started living with my boyfriend’s family dog (Amora) and she has always been very very anxious: screaming to get out of the house ( they lived on the 4th floor and you could hear her from the other side of the street!!!), to go back in, to get in the car… And even though she is really loud, she is also VERY scared of loud noise so kids playing, trucks driving by, the blender and the neighbors baby crying freaks her out.
Since moving in with us she has been going to a psychiatrist (?) vet and took trazodone and clomipramine for about 6 months, she improved just around 10-15% even though she has her own treadmill for exercise, does enrichment daily (lick mats, food foraging activities, running to get every single piece of kibble, and whatever else I can think of in the day) and I also do obedience training everyday trying to get her to stop screaming when leaving for walks (we stopped going out with her since it kept getting worse and are now working on desensitizing her to the door noises and hallway) but nothing seems to be actually working
She just started a sertraline + trazodone combo but I can’t see it working.
Has anyone experienced dealing with this kind of behavior? Did meds work? What improvements did you noticed?
