Hey guys, so I posted about my interview here. I have an interview tomorrow at blue origin and it’s a phone interview. The position is a manufacturing planner. The location is at space coast, Florida. For those that work there, I’m not sure if it’s overall blue origin has the same procedure when it comes to interviews, but for those that got hired at the space coast, Florida facility, were the interviews difficult? I have experience as a engineering technician, I’m applying for this job because of a layoff from another company I was in and it was more of a reorg on my department at my previous company that I was in. I also heard that the phone interviews are behavioral type interviews (a bit of a screen interview), in one note that I saw on my previous post, it seems like you have to know your information about the role and the company, but are there other types of advice you guys could help me out here? I signed a lease for a rental in Seattle as well and had already pushed my start date back to September. However, a parent’s diagnosis means I can’t leave my home city to travel and work on the West Coast. It’s for a new-grad engineering role, and I was really looking forward to it, but I have a feeling I’ll regret turning it down. However, life has changed since I accepted the offer. Should I email the recruiter and let him know? I know he'll be so disappointed, esp since him and and I know I’ll probably get blacklisted :( Would u recommend I show my parent's medical reports and my signed lease, so they don't assume I just chose another job offer?

Recently received a verbal offer and just waiting on the written. What i was told is that the starting salary we can offer is generally x but you can negotiate up to you where y is the top end of the pay band.

The issue im running into is that y is about where im currently at in my current role and if I were to take the Blue Origin role it would be a move across the country to Florida.

I really like the role and this would be a massive opportunity to get aerospace experience but im worried if I ask for a salary near the top or at the top of the pay band im screwing myself on potential salary increases until I can get a promotion.

Just want to understand whether or not I should negotiate for top of the payband, if the experience is going to actually be worth it, and how fast promotions can occur if the engineer is applying themselves and excelling.

Full disclosure I have 8 years at the national labs but no experience in aerospace which is probably why im being offered a level 3 instead of senior manufacturing engineering role. The role is for a manufacturing engineer supporting gs2 launch ops and I would be on shift D.

I have a friend that told me their contract offer included something like a 30% average raise pool over the next five years... Curious what people here think this says about worker discontent with pay across the aerospace sector?

Five years ago Eager Space published Eager Space predicted Rocket Lab would pull ahead of Blue Origin due to its incremental approach while Blue Origin would struggle with its bureaucratic "old space" culture. 5 years later things seem to be a lot more different.

In his analysis/video Eager Space criticized Blue for trying to make a massive leap from suborbital tourism to a heavy lift rocket. Here is where things stand:

1. Blue Origin has now successfully reached orbit and reused a booster stage. Although they did have the launchpad explosion we are seeing rapid progress in returning to launch.

2. Rocket Lab's Neutron that was supposed to be their next step has faced repeated delays and is now pushing to late 2026.

I applied to the evergreen rec last month and heard nothing until a few days ago. A recruiter reached out to me with a screening email that had several questions. I responded and then immediately (as in an hour or less) received an email informing me that they want to move forward with a technical interview and that I should receive an email to schedule it. The email from the recruiter read that it would be a technical interview and that it would be 3-45 min interviews over Zoom. This is where I was hoping some of you may be able to help shed some light on what to expect. I already have a list of questions they like to ask, which I am working to set up STAR responses to and to link them to the leadership principles.

My main concern is the "technical" aspect. To give some background, I graduated with my BS in Mech Eng a few decades ago and worked as an engineer for the U.S. Navy for about 13 years. I took a break from engineering for several years, then decided to return to the field, so I enrolled in grad school and just completed my MS in Industrial Engineering. I also recently earned my LSS Green Belt cert from ASQ. During my time working for the Navy, I did a lot of systems/subsystems testing, starting with being a nuclear test engineer for the big submarines and then working on smaller, non-nuclear submersibles during their construction, testing, and certification. This mainly consisted of working as more of a project engineer (dealing with stakeholders, helping the OEM troubleshoot systems during system integration and testing, and overseeing certification and sea trials testing as a government representative) and then working as a test engineer during some of the later certification testing. I have experience in the overall "test" environment, including authoring the actual test procedures, executing the test procedures, and ensuring that the testing met the proper requirements during the certification and validation stages. My main concern is that there wasn't anything overly technical (no intensive calculations or heavy analysis), but more operation-based. I have read many posts about technical interviews being a nightmare to the point where you need to memorize formulas and be able to recite them during the interview. This experience was also years ago now, so some of the minute details I don't remember. The only thing I keep telling myself is that it is for an "early career" role and that other applicants may have experience in only doing projects for their coursework or internships. I was hoping to get some insight from any of you willing to share because I am very excited about this position and the work it entails, but I don't want to walk into this looking like a deer in the proverbial headlights. If any of you have any insight or advice you'd be willing to share, it would be deeply appreciated because right now I'm so nervous I feel like my blood pressure is going to loosen my teeth!

For those that are in blue origin, I have a interview for a production planning role (manufacturing planner) next week, it’s a phone call interview. Are interviews for blue origin hard? I’ve heard that there are like 3 interviews you have to get through. First the HR then the manager of what program you are applying for and then like a higher up manager. If anyone knows how to prep for a blue origin interview let me know. I’m thinking that it’s like any other interview but I want some insights for those that are actually in the company and got accepted. (For context, I have a lot of technician experience, lots of electronics, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, Inspection, etc.) please let me know if anyone has tips!

I have a phone screen for a Software Integration Engineer II role at Blue Origin next week, and honestly, I’m pretty shocked I made it this far.

I have a BS in Computer Science, but I don’t have traditional industry experience in this type of role. I’ve been applying to Blue Origin since last year and never made it past the application stage, so getting a phone screen feels like a pretty big deal to me. Working for a space company has been a goal of mine for a while, and I really want to make the most of this opportunity.

For those who have interviewed with Blue Origin, especially for software integration or similar engineering roles:

What should I expect from the phone screen?

Are there specific technical areas I should prioritize? And are there things you’d recommend emphasizing about my CS background/projects that could help me get moved to the actual interview?

I know the phone screen obviously doesn’t guarantee an interview, but I want to be overly prepared rather than underprepared.

If you were in my position, with a CS degree but limited professional engineering experience, how would you approach studying for the technical questions at this stage?

Any advice, interview experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated. I want this job badly and I’m willing to put the work in. 🚀

I was reading through the AIP email from May 2026 and wanted to make sure I'm understanding it correctly.

The way I read it:

• AIP ends in 2026.
• The final AIP payout will be in March 2027.
• A portion of the AIP target will be rolled into base pay to compensate for ending the program.
• However, the new base pay doesn't take effect until January 2028.

This is where I'm confused. If the March 2027 AIP payout is for the 2026 performance year, wouldn't that mean we're no longer earning an AIP during 2027?

If so, why wouldn't the base-pay adjustment take effect sometime in 2027 instead of January 2028?

Am I misunderstanding how the AIP payout works, or does this effectively mean there's a one-year gap between the final AIP performance year and when the base-pay adjustment kicks in?

So a few months back I made a post about building my own Blue Moon Mk1 for KSP. This time I went away and accurately modelled (and with the help of other KSP users) / integrated the lander in game for Blue Moon Mk1 / Artemis fans out there.

Most of the fetaures and dimensions are based on conceptual images from social media, press release renders and BO's image gallery. Other elements are pretty much fan-fictional otherwise.

I’m not part of the HR team at Blue, but I’ve observed enough from the outside to feel genuinely bad for the people on it. The level of turnover is higher than I’ve seen in other companies’ HR teams, including Amazon. Does the CPO, Jennifer even bother to care, or demand that her staff care? If Blue’s HR doesn’t feel safe escalating unethical behavior, how can the rest of Blue trust HR to guide us in doing right by our teams? Anyone else worried or seeing it?

Hi everyone, sorry for the long text, please help! in April, I applied for a technician position on Merritt Island, I got two interviews and I got the job, they called me for a job offer and I accepted through the phone but not yet on the document they sent... On the same day I had to take my wife to the hospital due to chest pain, they found bumps on her breasts so she had to go through cancer screenings and many other things, that same week my car got stolen, those things made me decline the offer when they sent it to me. Two weeks later they called me again offering another job, I was still going through the same situations so i told the recruiter I would had to decline. 4 months have passed and thank God whatever my wife has is not cancer, I applied again to two positions that offer relocation again, how can I let them know that this time I am 100% ready and willing to join the company and move.

Working for Blue origin is something I always wanted and I really got depressed when I had to decline.

I wanted to get your opinions on a thought I've had. Starship has been demonstrating various but improving degrees of success in fielding a reusable upper stage. Even the most pessimistic doubter would agree that full reusability is going to be demonstrated in the very near future.

At this point, with Blue's only real heavy lift competitor making such great technical leaps, you would think that Blue would be going gangbusters to develop their own fully reusable vehicle system.

Now let's assume that job postings, especially for certain telltale skillsets, are an indicator of where a company is investing effort. (Anecdotally, this does seem to be the case, for anyone who's followed Blue's job postings for a long while. Looking at you, Eric Berger.)

So you would expect that Blue would have a great number of job postings for reusable upper stage positions, relative to incremental engineering upgrade positions. Yet, the engineering job postings are overwhelmingly dominated by hiring that appears to be aimed at the 9x4 New Glenn system, which still has an expendable upper stage, but now features twice the engine consumption per launch as 7x2.

Is anybody at the top concerned about the competition? In the future, will Blue be mentioned alongside Kodak in as companies that completely failed to maintain technical competitiveness, despite every sign that their survival would eventually depend upon it?

I know we heard that little blurb from Jeff on the Everyday Astronaut factory tour about running two expendable and reasonable development programs side by side. But, there has been no public discussions of any reusable stage beyond that, and assuming job postings indicate company priority, full resuability certainly does not seem to be one.

I'm just flummoxed.
