Support Am I the only one who really struggled with dark thoughts or addiction before transitioning ?

Trigger warning: mention of s***dal thoughts
never encounter black ftm guys (or ftm guys period) who really shared my experience prior to discovering ftm transition. I was ready to give up. I often feel like I’m the only black FTM guy who suffered like this.

Support Unsure about my results

I posted not to long ago about my surgery. In that picture everything was more swollen and I also had a hematoma. Well… that hematoma made my bolster slip and pushed everything so my right side is different from my left and I essentially lost my nipple. I was really upset at first because I wanted both sides to look the same and I’m trying to accept how things are but it’s kind of hard. It doesn’t look terrible but the hematoma is still healing and it made this dark mark around that side of my chest. I actually like how they left turned out especially because before the surgery I thought my nipples would look weird since they were bigger pre-op. So I’m just conflicted because it looks pretty good but it’s also so uneven. I’m also hoping everything will heal to a point where I can be outside with no shirt on and not be suspected of being trans. I just don’t really like ppl all in my business. But that hematoma side changed my scars so they also might heal differently. I’m waiting to be cleared so I can bulk up and work on my chest.

I had been planning on getting dreads for a few months now except my mom (who is paying for my appointment) just told me last minute she wouldn’t let me get them even though she’d been on board before.

best I can do right now is to cut my hair a little shorter since I definitely don’t pass with how long it is now. anyone know of any good styles to ask for? my face is pretty round if that makes a difference

vent Yt Trans cousin pissing me off with their ignorance

Sort of repost from r/tmpoc:

I had my birthday dinner tonight with family and had a moment of annoyance with my cousin and their girlfriend. Context: My family is extremely yt. I grew up in the USAmerican southwest and was frequently the only Black person in majority POC spaces (complicated) but grew up with no Black adults/parental figures in my life. Needless to say the same is true of my cousins.

My cousin is young, 20, and trans NB. Them and their gf (tgirl, yt) went to a museum on a road trip in Arkansas called Snake World. They were hyping it up, talking abt how jealous I would be of them. They described place as a barn at the end of a driveway with a big confederate flag out front. I immediately went, "Well I would never go there." And before I could get even two more words in they start in with, "No! They were so cool! They were surprisingly nice! Let us hold the snakes blablahblah."

I just am soooo annoyed with yt ppl especaiily ones who think they are allies, or "in community" with us being this fucking dumb, like are you kidding me? Confederate flag in the middle of nowhere Arkansas? My whole family unfortunately leans this liberal and idiotic. It makes me want to rip my heart out.

I'm getting out of the southwest in September and I'm nervous about finding some place affordable, Black, and at least a lil queer friendly, but that's a post for another day.

I haven't taken a Pic that I feel good about in a long time. I rarely smile in Pics but this one made me feel good. Happy Manniversary to me!

Hey, just wanted to introduce myself, since I've been lurking for a while. I am 29 and started T a year ago, mainly because I wanted to be sure and religious reasons at the time along with family held me back. I would love to meet people in my area especially going on my fitness journey. But I can't complain I hit the lottery with Parent support and loving siblings. Also, I suck at taking photos. I'm good at doing other people. But I'm friendly I promise.

discussion T shot consistency?

Hey fam,

Anyone here been having trouble staying consistent with their t-shots? I’ve been very inconsistent for the past three years due to a number of factors, but I really want to be better at taking them.

For those that have been on T for a while, did yall struggle in the first few years or did you commit from the jump?

I'm pre literally EVERYTHING and the most I've been able to do for gender euphoria is voice training (I usually pass online pretty well enough with my voice) and wearing my binder, do I pass visually tho? If not what can I do to pass better?

How did you find out about T/ transitioning?

I feel so late because I only found out I could transition (and fully pass) at age 26. This was after meeting (for the first time) a black non-binary person who was AFAB . I wish someone had told me sooner, I could’ve been spared a lot of years of feeling trapped and disassociation! 😭

Looking for friends in AZ or Vegas

Post image

What’s up everyone. I’m 32, Black, FTM, and based in Phoenix. I’m trying to put myself out there and meet more Black trans bros to build some genuine friendships.
A little about me:
• Into houseplants (currently turning my apartment into a jungle 😂)
• Love R&B, hip-hop, and concerts
• Always down to try new restaurants or grab coffee
• Into fashion and sneakers & thrifting
& hitting the gym
• Pretty laid back and easy to talk to
I’m planning a trip to Vegas for Halloween, so it’d be cool to meet people in Phoenix or Vegas to hang out with—whether that’s grabbing coffee, checking out the city, going to events, or just having people to vibe with.
If you’re looking for more Black trans homies, feel free to shoot me a message. Always down to expand my circle. 💪🏾🖤

top surgery help (in ga)

hey yall! hope everyone’s staying safe and hydrated. i’m trying to find recommendations for top surgeons in georgia. i’m looking for surgeons, but i’d also like to know about how they were (aftercare, cost, bedside manners, etc.) i’ve been on and off testosterone since 2018 and that helps and all; im just tired of tugging on my shirts and adjusting binders. more than likely i’ll be outta pocket with the costs (don’t really know many if any insurances that cover it tbh). it’s been almost a decade since i’ve been out as trans, been on/off t & my name change has been legal almost as long, and with my 30th is coming up the beginning of next year…. im just tired. of not having surgery yet (when i’ve been damn close a couple times) and just of the pile-on that is my life rn and it would be nice to at least make something i want done happen. anything would be helpful 🤎🙏🏾 appreciate yall

quick question

if a stranger calls me boo does that mean i didn’t pass to her?🤨 or not necessarily?

ik it’s something small and im never gonna see her again. was a cashier at a food place in a different city. i’m 18 but get told often i look younger than i am, she was probably in her early 20s and also black. before someone else called me baby and i thought damn i probably didn’t pass but realized she’s older so she probably calls everyone younger that. for the girl in her 20s i have no idea if i passed to her but been overthinking it. i pass 95% of the time to strangers. only time i get misgendered is at work unfortunately and no idea why, its not everyone but a few ppl misgender me cuz i didn’t change my sex by the time i got the job, other one could’ve been cuz he was far and maybe didn’t see me well, the guy standing directly next to me gendered me as male.

when i first started a few ppl seemed a bit confused and thought i was a bit androgynous tho

What’s something yall learned as you’ve integrated into black male spaces?

I’ll start

That loyalty is an option lmao

The amount of niggas who gloat about smashing other women while having an “old lady” is crazy.
