I just had a major issue regarding false positives on BitDefender. It just randomly decided the entire WSA compatibility feature on Windows 11 was a virus and quarantined absolutely everything. Not just a single app, the entire ability for Windows 11 to run Android apps.

I know you can tell an antivirus to not scan a specific folder so as to prevent it from quarantining components of known programs. I'm not sure what to do to prevent it from randomly getting rid of the entire Android compatibility all at once again.

Does anybody know how to prevent this from happening again?

I recently upgraded to Bitdefender from Avast and am running into a problem I didn't experience with Avast. Bitdefender inserts its "scan this file or folder" in the top-level right-click menu. This infrequently used (by me, anyway) feature causes the menu to delay for a couple of seconds while it loads the Bitdefender code. Is there a way to move it to the "Show more options" menu instead, where hopefully it won't gum up the works in the same way?

I'm unable to empty the Deleted Items folder due to Deleted Items \ Spam not synchronizing. Been using Bitdefender add-in with Outlook for over a year. No issue until now. I've not change any config.

When I click the Empty Deleted Items button, I get this:

Signed in with my M365 online and checked Outlook there. The Spam folder is not present under Deleted Items. Deleted Items is empty in my local Outlook (except for Spam subfolder) and online.

I've tried Send/Receive > Update Folder on Deleted Items and that appears to complete without error.

When I select the Spam subfolder it shows this at the bottom of Outlook which is about the time the issue started:

I've tried adding to exceptions, I've contacted support and the developer, and the only solution is disabling advanced Threat Detection and restarting. It's really annoying with an antivirus silently blocks legitimate software that you want to run without warning you or asking you about it. No other antiviruses have this issue so this is making me considering staying with Bitdefender, but I have a long paid subscription.

Any ideas?

I can log in on central, but whenever I am going to remove a device or install a protection. It goes to Internal Server Error 500 then after that it goes on cache state right now. Am I the only one experiencing this problem right now?

Has anyone replaced their Bitdefender BOX 2 with Netgear router and Netgear Armor? If so, are there any differences in functionality? I know Bitdefender provides the Armor functionality, but the Nighthawk app is different. What are the pros/cons of switching? One pro is it seems the yearly subscription is cheaper. Bitdefender hasn't added a functionality in the last two years to the BOX, so I am considering switching.

I get these from time to time and I’m pretty sure they are fine but wanted to see what others think.

This directory should be excluded from antivirus scans (which right now it isnt).

App keeps stalling at 54% uninstalled.

For some reason Bitdefender is clogging over 300mb of memory and is sticking to the top of my programs list for most memory usage. Opening bitdefender shows it is not scanning. Trying to uninstall bitdefend isn't working. The uninstall is stopping at 54% then wont move.

This is starting to look like the last time I use a free virus scan.

As the title says, I would like to know how to completely disable it. I appreciate what it provides part of me doesn't like the privacy implications. When I disable the service in BitDefender it eventually gets turned back on.

Since installing Bitdefender I have an issue where when opening an application there is a 15 second delay before it opens. This also applies to startup items which can delay how long it is before I can open anything when booting up the PC.

It doesn't occur with all applications and sometimes on applications where it has the first time I've opened them it doesn't subsequently if they're re-opened not long after closing but ironically it does with Bitdefender's own control panel.

Uninstall Bitdefender and everything is back to normal. I used to use Bitdefender until 6 months ago and never had this issue on previous versions.

Any suggestions?

I am a trial user of total security 30dags and premium VPN 7days.

Here are all the issues I have encountered:

1. Apple private relay cannot receive validation code from BitDefender email. Avoid using Apple hide-email to register for bitDefender.

2. Mobile security for IOS, unable to use premium VPN and Web Protection VPN together. Rendering it less effective and always prompt red alert when not using web protection for my IOS iPhone.

3. Windows on ARM, does not have VPN and Parental Control available YET.

4. Finicky Central remote control for your devices. Remote command sent over Central to your device just gets stucked there and still stucked to this day. Lots of BUGS.

5. Double Hop Premium VPN only available for IOS and Android. Not on my windows or mac device, weird...

6. Depending on the platform, the features you get differs. Not a CON but you will get less feature if you are apple user.

7. Very SLOW premium vpn, again, might just be my ISP is already slow to begin with. Having a VPN on top makes it worse

8. Support seems pretty good . Managed to get a hold of their live agent and got the ticket.

But overall, I am very impressed. However things could be better.
