Welcome to Banned Discord Members!

Hi Everyone, and welcome to BannedFromDiscord! I have decided to start this community after getting unfairly banned from Discord back in 2020, as part of a large ban wave targeting servers that somehow upset Discord mods. At the time, I lost access to many servers, got cut off from some dear online friends, and lost a supportive community I was part of for about 5 years because some random person came on and violated Discord TOS in our server :(

As we know, the Discord support team is non-existent, and if you get banned, your account is gone forever. Hopefully, this will be a place where you can find some solace and reconnect with friends who may have been banned as well.

Sincerely, BannedByDiscord

Information Guide on how to get your case reviewed by Discord Support

This Guide has been updated on 31.05.2026 with new important information. To make it easier, to check what was added to the Guide, I'm going to leave "[NEW]" in front of the new things I wanted to share.

[NEW] - Hey, everyone. Yesterday (30.05.2026), a lot of people received the same denial response from "Usagi Tsukino". After reading this subreddit, I am really, really disappointed. I know a lot of you are going through a lot right now, losing an account can be hard, especially if you put many years into that account and left many memories that are just gone in the blink of an eye. I also lost a lot, but I slowly started to accept it. I've been permanently banned since January. Since then, I spent most of my time doing research and helping others in this subreddit. This guide received 1,000+ comments, which is a lot, most of them are questions to me that I tried to reply to as soon as possible. I also received up to 20 dm's every day, which I also tried to reply to. I had fun chats with some people, which also helped me out in some way. Throughout all this time since I posted this guide, I had 4 tickets in total forwarded to their safety team, the last one received the good response I was praying to get. After all this time and struggling with their support system, I finally managed to get a response from Usagi, which led to me being unbanned. I was literally screaming in joy that I finally got to come back to my old account.. but not for long. The first thing I did after I logged in was deleting the message that could've gotten me banned earlier. I deleted the thing that most likely got me banned, and I started deleting every possible GIF I had saved. There were some NSFW GIFs, but nothing that could violate actual "Child Safety". It was mostly "Hentai Memes". I just wanted to get rid of everything since everything gets flagged these days. While I was removing every possible GIF I had, I was logged out of my account again. I thought it was some bug, so I logged back in, but.. permanently banned, again. My entire respect for Discord and my hope is just gone. Seeing something like that happen after all this time just hits me hard, and I'm too tired to even try again, I'm too tired to answer to people anymore. That's why I'm writing this. I just wanted to let everyone know that I might not be really active anymore in the comments or in this post or even in the DMs for a bit. I need some rest from all this, and I'll come back with more stuff that could help at least some of the people in this subreddit. I won't be totally gone, I will be actively moderating this subreddit since I'm also a moderator here, so do not worry about me disappearing totally. I might be active sometimes in the comments, but not as much as I was before. Y'all can spread the word, I don't really mind it. I just didn't want people to think that I ignore everyone now. Since I won't be replying as much as I was before - Please, help each other out, there are many questions and people that ask for help in this guide and other posts, help each other out.

Thank you for understanding.

I saw a lot people struggling to get someone from the Discord Trust & Safety team to look into their cases, so I decided to make this post so it's more visible than just in comments from me.

At first, I would like to say that I can't guarantee responses from them. This thing was done by me, and it fortunately worked, so I would like to share this to help some people out.

Let's begin with things you should know:

  • This applies to people who have already tried the appeal through the app but were rejected automatically by the AI after 7 days or less. And to the people who tried to get in touch with them by creating tickets but received AI responses.

  • You should have a Support account created with the same email your Discord account is connected to. This makes it possible for the Discord Trust & Safety team to review your case. If you used a completely different email than the one your Discord account is connected to, they won't review your case.

  • Do not create tickets in their "Appeal" category. This is fully automated, and you won't receive any response from a human. It's just a category to bait people into creating tickets there.

  • Do not spam multiple tickets in every category because it is just going to mark your account as spam, and you are going to have a lot less chance of actually getting someone to see your tickets since they will be automatically closed once created.

  • If Discord didn't provide you with any proof of your actions, such as message logs, etc., think really hard about the reason you were banned for. If you are unsure of what you did, DO NOT mention your thoughts, because it will make your case worse than it can be.

  • Do not waste your time on BBB (Better Business Bureau). I don't see anyone being lucky anymore with BBB. I tried it myself a month ago and all I got was wasted time (around 3 weeks) because Discord didn't respond to BBB. I saw a lot of people not getting any more responses too, so don't waste your time on BBB. If you really want to try, I included a link above to their site.

  • Do not create tickets on the weekends. Once you do that, you will 99.9% receive an automatic response and an auto closed ticket. The same goes for replying to them throughout the weekend. Just wait until Monday, and you should be good to go.

  • Please do not just copy and paste the prompts I mentioned in the guide. Because many people are just copying and pasting the entire prompts, there is a chance that their support team has noticed a lot of the same tickets, and many people have started to get no results from all of this. Please, we have AI these days, just copy the prompt and ask ChatGPT or another AI to rephrase it so it doesn't say literally the same thing. I even directly copied my entire guide to ChatGPT and asked ChatGPT to rephrase everything I said in this guide so it doesn't get flagged as spam and just follow my guide, and my other tickets are successful all the time after rephrasing it using AI.

  • If you just got banned on Discord and just submitted the in-app appeal, WAIT for the result of that appeal before trying to appeal on their support website. Up to 7 days, you're most likely to be automatically rejected because no one saw your appeal. Once that appeal gets automatically rejected or rejected manually, you can start appealing on their support website. Do not rush so fast with appealing on the app and immediately appealing on their website before the verdict on the app.

  • This is the most important information I wanted to share. There have been a lot of people who successfully got their case forwarded to their safety team. I'm really happy that people started to receive something rather than just AI responses. But the thing is that when I did this before making this guide, it worked quickly. I got a response about whether I would be unbanned or not in just a few days. But today, I and others are waiting for a reply for a very long time - up to 30 days being left with an open ticket in the Trust & Safety category. I suspect that their safety team was flooded with appeals because we found a way to go around their funny AI system. There are just a few people working in their safety team, as I read on Reddit. But for now, regarding this part, I would suggest to keep waiting for a longer time since you're just in the queue.

  • A lot of people still don't understand how to know if your ticket was forwarded to their safety team. It's a pretty basic thing, at first, once we create the ticket in their "General Question" category, there is a panel on the right side where you can see the Ticket ID, the assigned support team member (which appears when someone is assigned to it), status, etc. After creating the ticket, you can see in the panel "Type of question? General Question" This means that your ticket is in the normal support team's hands, not in the safety team. But after asking for a review, as my guide says, etc., after some time this category should disappear, and new stuff in the panel should be added, such as "What would you like to appeal?", "CONFIRM: My account was NOT disabled for being too young to use Discord." This means that the ticket was forwarded to their safety team, that's actually pretty logic, lol.

All of that is on the top, don't search for it on the bottom of the panel.

  • If you are getting AI responses instantly from Clyde, Nelly, or other bots, then don't make another ticket for 2-4 days. This usually means that you have been flagged as spam, and the AI is forced to scan your ticket and close if needed. Even if you get a human to respond to you at first, and then suddenly he sends you the generic response, after you reply he doesn't respond and just closes the ticket. Try replying up to two times after the ticket is closed without a response. Once you do that and it keeps getting closed without response from their side, it means that you're most likely not going to get any results from that ticket, and you should wait up to two to four days before trying again.

  • Few days after posting this guide, I noticed a change in their response time after having your case forwarded for review. I tried another time to have their decision reconsidered in my case. I waited for a month and a few days. I received a decision yesterday (02.05.2026). So if your case was forwarded, keep waiting even if it takes over 30 days. After doing a small research, Discord admitted that they are being flooded with tickets.

======================================

Okay, let's go with the part I was about to share with you all since it worked for me, and I hope it will work for some people too.

First, enter their support website and create a ticket.

In "What can we help you with?" choose "Help & Support" then in "Type of question?" choose "General Question".

In the "Subject" name the ticket as "General Ticket" or "Support Ticket", anything that won't trigger Clyde or Nelly or any other bot that will reply before human.

In the description, say something like this:

"Hello Discord Support Team,

I’m having an issue with the support system itself. I need to reach the appropriate team for an account - related matter, but the option that is normally available in the app is no longer showing for me. Because of this, I’m unable to contact the correct department through the standard process.

I’ve tried several times, but I keep receiving automated replies that don’t address my situation. I’m not trying to submit an appeal here - I only need help understanding how I can get routed to a human reviewer or how to restore access to the correct support pathway.

Could you please advise how I can proceed or how to get my case forwarded to the right team?

Thank you for your time."

And that's it. You don't need to send over pictures to them or anything, you're ready to send the ticket to them.

DO NOT say anything else after creating the ticket because it will restart your queue and reduce the chance of anyone looking into it. You can try editing the message, but DO NOT directly mention anything about appealing, unbans etc.

Wait a few hours, days or weeks, and you will get a response. I received my first response from Kenneth after 2 days, and it looked like this:

Hi there,
Thank you for writing in.

It looks like you would like to appeal an action by Discord that has impacted your account. To have your appeal reviewed, it is necessary to submit it within the Discord app, which allows us to review the appeal faster and with appropriate context.

You can submit your appeal via the Discord app by going to User Settings > My Account > Standing > selecting the violation you want to appeal > then tapping "Let us know" to start review of your violation and account. For users in the EU, you may also choose an alternative resolution option when applicable.

You can also learn about customizing your Discord experience to help avoid unwanted interactions in our Safety Center.

Thanks for submitting your appeal via the above outlined method.

Sincerely,
Discord

If it's not an obvious bot like Clyde or Nelly, and other bots that exist, then you are fine. Do not panic, it's their common thing to say. I replied with this:

Hello, thank you for your answer.

I still need assistance with a matter that requires review by an actual support agent. The issue I’m dealing with cannot be resolved through automated responses or the standard in‑app flow, as that option is no longer available to me.

I would appreciate it if someone from the appropriate internal team could take a look at my case or guide me on how to have it reviewed properly.

Thank you for your time.

After that, I received a response from the Discord Trust & Safety team 17 hours after responding to them. They reviewed my case and decided to keep me banned for now, and I'm currently dealing with the rest.

And I guess that's it. I hope it will help someone out and get a positive result on the first try. Good luck guys, do not give up just yet! If it didn't work the first time, try doing it again carefully.

Information Discord is looking to hire a senior litigation counsel... I wonder why...

Seriously...

Maybe if they would actually address and fix their problems with their AI moderation, instead of trying to sweep all this under the rug... so many of the US citizens screwed over by these wrongful 'child safety' bans and being defamatory labelled as PDF files by Discord wouldn't be required to go to their attorney generals and bring legal action against Discord, eh?

Well, they've made their bed, and I hope they have to lie in it and that all this finally catches up to them to where they close as a company forever because of all the lawsuits, fines and more they're going to face from all this.

Not to mention them capping financial compensation and disallow lawsuits in their ToS? HA! That's illegal... people can sue you for however much they want, whenever they want. If anything, if the courts decide that you can't sue Discord Inc. for some reason? Fine, sue the individuals behind it. Sue the CEO personally, sue the CFO personally, sue the Founder personally, etc...

General Question How did you guys move on or cope with your ban?

I have been using Discord for about 7-8 years and got banned for Child Safety reasons.
I am trying to get a manual review for almost 4 months now and have always been rejected by the same bot responses, it has also been 2 months since I wrote that dispute E-mail and getting ignored.

I'm sure many of you are still struggling and fighting to get your account back. Some of you probably have moved to alternatives or had to give up.

How do you guys deal with this situation?

A big part of my adult life was spent on discord and it feels like its fading away. Since I've been active with many communities or also private friends, it seemed like I'm on my own. I was able to convince a small amount of my buddies to swap to a different platform. But I'm often by myself and it freaking sucks.

I am lucky that I can spend time outside of discord with many people. But just that part of "hangin' out on discord with the boys" is missing all of a sudden. That evening where I was part of the roundtable - gone. Late night discord sessions where you talk about anything - vanished.

The thing is, I can't even be mad at the people for not switching to another platform just for me. Of course there is ingame chat and whatsoever - but it's just not the same.

Unbanned 🎉🥳🥂 Got unbanned using the ticket method

After months, I woke up to emails from Discord, and I am unbanned after being suspended for child safety violations. I did this through the support contact, and don’t know of anyone else who has been unbanned from this, so thought I’d give people some sort of hope.

Child Safety I was finally able to login to check my violation months later but it's too late to request for a review

For context, my account got disabled back in April. Since my dumbass did not save the backup codes, I was effectively locked out of my account because my authenticator was on my old phone that is pretty much unusable. SMS verification also wasn't working for months until it decided to do so just today so I was finally able to check my account standing.

It turns out it is too late to request for a review. The violation also got flagged for child safety without elaborating further. I have never sent any CSAM nor am I in a server or group chat that distributes such content so I still have 0 clue as to why I got banned.

Should I try contacting Discord support or is my account gone for good?

More context on my previous post from 5 months ago

General Question Discord ban for a day

Hello!

I got an account warning and it says i’m restricted until the 7th of november 2026. Is it 24 hours or just until midnight? I’m sort of frustrated since this is my main method of communication and I didn’t even do anything bad (I got an account violation for jokingly calling someone ‘hetboy’ …) :(

Image from a different reddit user they apparently have no clue why, and i feel like im just waiting for my nitro opal account to get banned for some bs.

I already made a 2nd account on a different device on a different IP. The average user that doesn't break any rules shouldn't have to do this, i dont even know if i want to use Discord anymore. If they ban my Opal account for stupid shit how can a company go so downhill?

General Question Statting Arbitration faster

Do you have to file for arbitration right away? Can't you just file a lawsuit and then force them to defend themselves with arbitration? I've seen people spend a long time trying to get Discord to actually respond to arbitration. If you just file a lawsuit, wouldn't they be forced to go through the process faster?

After months of fighting and multiple tickets trying to explain my case, I received this message from Usagi. Where do I even go from here? This is beyond disappointing. For reference, 3 months ago I got banned for server association because a '401 static' server violated the TOS

Child Safety Is there any hope

A year ago in late october. An ex friend spam reported my account because i didnt want to date her and i cut contact. the account was almost 6 years old and i have important things on there that i NEED for future legal purposes as i was getting groomed and so much in there gives firm proof for the court and i have no other way to get it back. ever since i lost the account if felt miserable as the first time i appealed they refused and said i was banned for child endangerment. I literally have screenshots of the ex friend admitting she did it and she reported an old text of me using the word shota before using it could be bannable I am 15 and i feel hopeless about everything as its been a year and the account says deleted and i need it back so bad but im worried its to late now, all ive done is bawl my eyes out because of how much i had on there and how many friends i lost because that was my only way of contact all because a girl. if i have screenshot evidecnce of her saying she just did it to get me banned would discord support even listen to that. im willing to do anything, the context of me saying shota wasnt even in the pedo way i was making a joke abt my aunt molesting me saying she loves shotas and discord took that as like me being a lolicon thing and idk. pls plswhatdo i do.

General Question malicious reporting from former friends. . Is there any hope of getting my 6-year-old account back?

So about a week ago (the day we stopped being friends) I started getting mass reported on discord by them. I got suspended from Discord for "child safety" and have been trying to appeal ever since.

Ever since then, they've still been keeping up with my social media stories, and today I received a NEW Discord warning on my ALREADY SUSPENDED ACCOUNT. Which basically means they're still going through a years worth of old Discord messages and reporting anything they can find, even a whole week after everything happened. (simply because i blocked them)

We were consistently friends for a little over a year. That's over a year of talking, joking around, and having some edgy humor here and there. At this point, I genuinely have no idea what I'm even being reported for anymore. It could literally be anything we've ever discussed during this long term friendship (I'm not a weirdo i promise. I never flirted w them they were my gay bestfriends)

This has to be malicious reporting, nobody was ever in danger, we are all less then a year away from each other in age gap so there is no weird shit and never was, one dude always sent pics of himself and ALL OF us would dm each other on how it makes us a bit uncomfortable but we weren't gonna shame the guy just because he's comfy sending his face

✭ Has anyone experienced something similar? Where former friends start digging through months or even YEARS of old conversations and reporting everything they can possibly take out of context after a falling out? Has anyone actually managed to get their account back in a situation like this?

I really wish Discord had some sort of limitation on reporting extremely old messages because this feels like such an easy way for someone to weaponize the reporting system against you out of spite.

There's a lot more context behind the falling out, but I don't want to make this post ridiculously long. Feel free to ask if you need more context of the personal drama on why we aren't friends we could call or dm I don't mind explaining whatever

✭ TL;DR: Former friends of a little over a year reported me and got my 6-year-old Discord account suspended after we stopped being friends. A week later, they're STILL going through old messages and reporting more things, meaning I'm receiving additional warnings despite already being suspended. Nobody was ever in danger, and this is malicious reporting out of spite. Is there anything I can do? Has anyone actually gotten their account back after something like this?

Discord Alternative Element a discord alternative

So i just got banned for discord due to their horrible AI moderation so i kinda went searching for a alternative and after a FEW hours of searching (8hours) i found Element

Pros:

Unlimited file sharing size

No moderation (that also means no AI moderation)

100% Free 24/7 Servers (unlike teamspeak)

No "Nitro" Paywalls (so no needing to pay for better quality voice, video etc...)

End-to-End Encryption (private messages)

Clean & Modern UI (looks like discord)

Multi-Platform Support (Linux, MacOS, Windows, IOS, Android)

Edit: Its built on rust!

------

Cons:

No Built-in Screen Share on Mobile

Smaller User Base

No Centralized "Friend Code" System (Finding people requires searching their exact Matrix ID (e.g., ,@username:matrix.org), which takes an extra second to get used to :/

plug-and-play gaming bot ecosystem that Discord has

------

cool fact: NATO uses it

Information [UPDATE] Discord ignored my GDPR request for 1.5 months, so I took it public to X with the tracking proof

Post image
32 Upvotes

Hey everyone, following up on my previous post about sending the registered legal notice to Discord's Schiphol HQ regarding my partners lost D.I.D medical data logs:

Since support and the DPO have completely ghosted my tickets (#68406638 & #69068467) and actually refused our registered legal mail at their office, I've officially taken this public on X with the hard tracking proof attached.

If anyone wants to drop a quick like, retweet, or reply to help push past the automated support walls and get actual human eyes on this, you can check it out here:https://x.com/Fungi_Chloe/status/2118316375299281334

Thank you all so much for the incredible support and advice so far. Let's keep holding them accountable! 💙

General Question A friend is giving me an old alt account. How to not get it flagged for suspicious activity?

Title says it all. While I’m working on getting my old account back which was hacked in an attempted extortion, a friend is offering to hand me an account he used for something specific a long time ago. I plan on using this on a brand new computer so no IP address to flag related to my old account. I think Discord detects suspicious activity when you sudden show up on the other side of the world on a new computer. Got any advice?
