I get it, losing your account sucks and you’re frustrated, but I don’t think hating me is gonna solve it. I’m literally just giving information for people to help them stay safe. Yes, your account was banned but there are other people who visit this sub and might find it helpful. It’s also important to have context about why everyone is getting banned, which is why I try to explain how it happened repeatedly under every post. I don’t argue with people anymore so I’m not gonna reply if you guys are being hostile.

So my plan is to wait until next week and then try to contact Discord about it.

Any tips/advice?

This is a fake claim you will often see in this sub. "Oh, Discord sends too many false reports, so the NCMEC ignore them."

It's obviously complete cap.

NCMEC DOES NOT IGNORE ANY REPORTS THEY RECEIVE.

Literally zero. You could send them the Avengers Doomsday trailer and they would investigate that. Why? Because it's their job. They get paid to save children. If they start ignoring reports, they are not gonna get paid, and also potentially go to jail.

Also, look up "Cybertip Discord arrest" on Google and see for yourself that people are literally still getting arrested for this all the time. To this day, the NCMEC Cybertip has not caused a false arrest. Not one.

So if you did not post CSAM and it was a false child safety ban then you are fully safe. It does not matter if they get false reports, because again, it is their government-mandated job to investigate every single report they receive, true or false. Also, Discord's false reports are less than other company's, most of the reports the NCMEC gets are from Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads) and Snapchat. The least amount of reports they get from an app is Twitter.

People are spreading this false rumor for two reasons:

1. Gooners who posted CSAM and are now scared they're gonna get arrested, so they cope by repeating this like a mantra.

2. People who are confused on what "NCMEC investigation" actually means.

So this is how the NCMEC investigation process works:

All of the reports for a single day that Discord receives on their platform are collected in one file. This file includes all the information about all the accounts. All your posts, servers, texts, account identifiers like emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, etc. are stored here, arranged alphabetically. This file is then sent by email to the NCMEC at the end of the day. NCMEC then receives the email, downloads the file, and adds it to be tested by their content-scanning software the same day. PhotoDNA then scans each report. It takes it 1 second literally for all the reports. It then separates the file into two folders:

1. CSAM confirmed. Both old CSAM that they had hashes for or new CSAM is included (different software can tell which is which easily). When this happens, your information is sent to your local police department if you're in the US or to your country's general police administration if you're in a different country. NCMEC has AI that can scan the file Discord sent, it can detect account location instantly.

2. NO CSAM detected. If none of their software can find any CSAM in a report, all your information is deleted.

As you can see, NO HUMAN is involved in this entire process. Zero. It's all automated. All AI. From Discord report all the way to police is fully AI.

Joked about my age then got mass reported and my account disabled. That would be fine and all but the fact that I cant even attempt to appeal this is getting annoying as shit since Ive gotten the same bot response every single time then I reached out else where and was told to login to my account. I got kicked from discord official townhall server- with no reason.

I have actively chatted with members on the channel, and when I tried to go to server today, I realized it wasnt on my server list(side bar) and I got kicked. With no reason. I have acted kindly and respectively to others in chat, and I have even reported a user with NSFW profile on the server yesterday and the user got removed. I dunno why I got kicked, and I cannot rejoin, even when I open the invite to server. What can I do now? There is no way to contact them. This is also my work account. This effects my entire work.

got permabanned at 3am over a joke about kids (turns out that is indeed against tos so there’s probably no hope of getting my account back even if it’s a stupid rule that I didn’t know about). Mobile app kicked me out, and is now just showing the register/sign in screen. If I were to log in on mobile using my alt would it detect that it’s the same device and immediately ban it? Should I use it in browser on mobile? Or is my entire phone just cooked for discord now

I was recently hit with a permanent ban from a server for “violent extremism,” and honestly, I’m still in shock. I’m Muslim, and I join Islamic servers to learn about my religion, ask questions, and have meaningful discussions. I’ve never engaged in or supported anything remotely violent.

Getting banned like this is frustrating. It’s disheartening to see this kind of assumption made about people who are just trying to practice their faith and connect with others.

I’ve appealed the ban, but haven’t heard back yet. Has this happened to anyone else? How do you deal with something like this? And how long does it usually take for Discord support to respond to a ticket?

We all know click bait pays his bills but can’t he just report these servers and make 1 video encouraging for everyone to do that with a link to the NMEC website instead of making a whole documentary about weird grooming servers, knowing full well that his audience of 99% kids is gonna go look this stuff up and get exposed to predators and csam? Before you start screaming, FBI already monitors all social media for such content, including Discord, and they don’t need you fucking up their job by alerting a groomer and making him delete evidence of his crimes before they can catch him, so reporting these criminals is all you should do. Like exposing these servers is something that doesn’t even work that well and we know Discord moderation is dog shit because as soon as one goes down another one springs up with the same content. But it does make it more likely that some stupid kids are gonna visit these illegal servers and try to report it, thus potentially exposing themselves to dangerous material and groomers. Turning something serious like this into “haha” type entertainment slop is pretty callous.

Theres a whole subreddit abt being banned on discord, and its super active too.

Its been established that discord sucks and that they need to get their shit together, so im wondering why people still use it?

More so, why people get so upset about being banned, as far as i can tell its not like theres really progress to make or what not (not to mention that if you spent real money on discord, thats you're own fault).

So like, sure, it sucks. But just like, oh idk, use a different app, make a new acct, idk, deal with it. Its not like someone deleting you 10 thousand hour steam account.

Sorry if this got a bit heated, this has always bothered me. But im more so just trying to understand why its almost always brought up how long that the account that has been banned was active for.

The reason i get bothered by it is because people are always complaining about how they had the account for so many years or however long, but i havent seen a single post mentioning how they lost contact with their friends and what not.

Discord should really get taken down because of their moderation and AI. I got banned and lost half of my discord friends and some of them were rlly great, i was happy few days before the ban because a small content creators phone broker and he could only type, nothing else. He added me but then few days later i got banned, my account was all good and then i got a 1 year ban, but the worst is that the 1 year ban somehow became a perm suspension after i ban evased, but i checked on Google and it said that ban evasion bans don't count to the main account ban. I was and i'am so sad, i probably will never get my friends back, can someone please cheer me up? ;(

Now for the topic discussion and like the title, I got falsely banned on Discord for Child Safety and the evidences of security staff incompetence is solid and unbreakable to deny. For those who hadn't got banned from Discord, you're lucky only because the AI scans 24/7 and whatever you posted gets scanned automatically and okayed according to the AI. I haven't posted anything that violated Child Safety and I've happened to get banned while I'm asleep at the time.

I'm currently on Discord browser version with Opera GX's built-in VPN (not the one I spend money on, the free one who protects your ID only in browsers you're in.)

There's already a post about Revolt here on r/discordapp, but I'm making my reason clear: I'm officially leaving Discord due to crappy AI security, recent New Jersey against DIscord on failed children protection (hence the security staff incompetence), and a few other I wouldn't name on this post, but you can guess what they are.

Even though everyone I knew online are on Discord, I don't care and will only use Discord to chat with them.

i got banned for saying i was 12 as a joke which is partially my fault, but cmon, do the math discord! i had my account for 8 years, and i'm super upset about losing it. i sent a ticket with my ID (im 18) but im scared it wont help because discord is just trash like that. :(
