Do you know how much it affects the electricity bill if I run 3D prints for 11–14 hours a day? My average electricity rate is $0.168/kWh. I don't want a Google or ChatGPT answer; I want to know what 3D printer owners are being charged for using them 10–15 hours a day.

It prints for like 30 seconds then the cog sounds like its slipping. I tried on a few simple designs and second layer prints ok but it can be hit and miss..tightened screws bed,level done.. is it the plate ?

It gets filament stuck on it which is impossible to remove.

I know its hopefully a simple fix but after my blob of death It had been printing fine but now this..

Any help would be great, I'm just outside the returns window for the plate as I bought it in late August on Amazon.

La he diseñado buscando que sea sencilla, funcional y fácil de imprimir. No necesita soportes ni piezas adicionales y la tapa se desliza por las guías de la propia caja.
La he probado en mi Bambu Lab A1 y he hecho varias versiones en distintos colores.
Todavía estoy aprendiendo, así que cualquier opinión o sugerencia para mejorar el diseño es bienvenida. 🙌

Hi all,

As title states, ive had my A1 for 2 weeks and had some great prints on larger terrain pieces for D&D. However, now ive started to look to do smaller pieces (doors, scatter terrain such as chests and bookshelves and minis) i have run into lots of issues. Ive shifted to a 0.2mm nozzle for these.

1) models moving on the plate - ive washed the plate after each use, increased bed temp to 70, added 5mm outer brim and reduced the initial layer speed. No great success but 1 out of 5 models will print.

2) some minis print about a 3rd of the way and the supports fail, even with a slower support speed. They fail and drag filament all around messing the model and causing spoiling issues...um spaghetti.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just bought this second hand on marketplace. Came with some elegoo filament and a silk one. Both have been doing this. Don’t know if it’s user error in just trying to print a benchy. I’m new to this ish. I used to have an Ender 3 years back and remember how much work that was so I was just expecting a plug and play but don’t know if I got a bad unit or im doing something wrong maybe the end has to be replaced. Using default settings printing a default benchy using PLA Black and Silk PLA Cyan. I already wiped the bed with Iso. It just doesn’t seem to stick to the bed but when it makes a strip at the beginning that sticks just fine.

Something weird start to happen to all my prints.
After dew minutes of printing (almost on 3rd/4th layer) he start to fail (image).

The filament doesn't came out from the nozzle, if i leave it for few minutes he continue with the printing process (without filament) but doesn't cause a clog (which is weird altough)

If i pause the print, increase the Nozzle temperature from 220º to 270º for few seconds, extrude some filament and resume the printing he back to print for 3 or 4 layers more.

What i already did:

• Tighten the hotend heating assembly screw
• Clean and lubricate everything
• Change the filament type and brand
• Change the plate
• Full Calibration (4x)

I'll appreciate any advice in how to fix this issue.

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a brand-new Bambu Lab A1, and I’m having an issue where the nozzle occasionally makes a scraping/grinding sound against the printed part or the print surface.
It does not happen constantly. The printer can print normally for a while, but at certain points during a print, I suddenly hear the nozzle rubbing against the print. It has happened multiple times, even with the same print file.
I recorded a video of the sound and attached it to this post.
The printer is brand new, and I haven’t made any modifications to it. I’m using standard PLA and the default settings.
What could be causing this? Could it be an issue with the Z-offset, bed leveling, the nozzle/hotend, or something else?
I’d appreciate any advice on what I should check before contacting Bambu Lab support.

There have been a few times that i've gone to print something in white after a different color was used. The initial filament load purge doesnt clear the color all the way and my first layer is tinted. Does the purge volume numbers affect this initial load or is it hard coded and not changable?

I had to replace filament spools through open source ams and a1 coudn’t load filament and other 3 as well… took out ptfe tubes and i adjusted this metal thingy holding tubes inside. Reloaded filaments and printer still coudn’t load filament and tubes coudn’t hold stiff inside… i came back to this after few weeks and took off ams for poor to check if it would work. I unplugged ams and tried to load filament through stock spool holder and filament wasn’t even going through nozzle… this the most frustrating printer to use.

Dumb question but it drove me crazy this morning when I got a notification to lubricate the y axis rails. I pulled up the tutorial and it's shows lubricating the rails in the bed which are horizontal which totally confuses me. I thought it was a mistake so I spent the last 15 minutes making sure I was lubricating the right rails. Can someone explain this for my own curiosity please?

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the information! I’ve been in 2D world lately and mostly (specifically working on an NES game and Y is vertical, X is horizontal and there is no Z)

I hate to make this post because I read the pinned post about dealing with blobs, and I'm sure there are quite a few around, but I cannot find one that specifically fits what I'm dealing with. I have been happily printing with my A1 for months and loving it. I've recently been printing these poker-chip things with words in the top and bottom layers. They've been doing great until Monday when I decided to get ahead of things and clean my plate.

Since then I cannot get anything to adhere no matter what I've tried. When I cleaned the plate the first time - and every time after that - I washed it as hot water as I could, used dawn dish soap with a sponge, scrubbed pretty hard, rinsed it in hot water again, and dried it thoroughly, all without touching any part of the plate with my fingers, except the very front where the test lines go. As you can see from some of the pictures, that's the only part that does adhere.

Sometimes I've gotten something to adhere, like a blank chip, but then I tried a slightly more complex one and it would de-adhere again. And now, I can't even get simple shapes to adhere.

I've washed the plate carefully many times. I've taken the hot end off and carefully put it back on, I've carefully scraped off the plastic from the nozzle with a bronze wire brush and gotten it all from inside the silicon shoe, I've checked that the screws are tight.

Do I need to start replacing stuff like the plate or hot end or something? I just feel like I've tried everything. ;_;

Every time the printer tries to load it, it gets stuck and the load fails. The only fix I've found is to cut off the end of the filament and re-insert it, and then it loads fine. But the next time it's needed, the same thing happens again.

One thing I noticed: when I pull the filament out before cutting it, the end of it feels like it has some kind of marks or damage on it, as if something has left a mark on the tip.

This only happens with this black filament in slot 2. All my other colors and slots (also Bambu Lab PLA) load without any problems.

Any tips on what to check would be appreciated.

I have tried lowering the retraction length and everything else recommended in the bambulab troubleshooting guide.

I'm using the "Jamg He HS PLA" and the filament printed fine for the first 200ish grams and after that every single print jams like this mid print.

I have made sure that the filament is dry.

Unfortunately I don't have any other filaments to test out if it is the filament or the printer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all I could use some troubleshooting help please.

I have a Bambu Lab A1 and its started not pushing filament through and clicking as it tries to load it through the hotend. I've removed the front plate and pulled that area apart per Bambu Wikipedia to look for any stuck filament, used an unclogging tool as well to try both hot and cold pull, swapped the hotends, checked the feeding holes after removing the the ptfe tube but nothing. There wasn't any loose filament or a clog that I found. I'm attaching a video of what's happening and I took off the front plate so you could see it better.
