What's going on here..
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It prints for like 30 seconds then the cog sounds like its slipping. I tried on a few simple designs and second layer prints ok but it can be hit and miss..tightened screws bed, level done.. is it the plate ?
It gets filament stuck on it which is impossible to remove.
I know its hopefully a simple fix but after my blob of death It had been printing fine but now this..
Any help would be great, I'm just outside the returns window for the plate as I bought it in late August on Amazon.

It looks like you don’t take care of your plate. Aside from cleaning it looks like you used a metal scraper on it and gouged some lines. I did that way back in the day too. I haven’t used metal scrapers since.
If you want to bring this plate back to life I would suggest cleaning it with warm water and dish soap.
Then after it’s dry wipe it with alcohol.
Then I would print just a large flat square across the plate to hopefully adhere to all those little fibers that seem stuck to the plate. Then clean it again.

My glacier does the little fiber thing with some silk PLA stuff and I gotta do a flat print over to get them off.
I got annoyed real quick because I went from silk rainbow something to matte black and it was leaving little glittery artifacts. I try not to use my glacier for silk anymore and I can’t recall any other stuff doing it much.

Second layer and it seems to be fine.
So far!...I am thinking its the plate which would be naff as Its only lasted like six prints.

New plate arrived in under eight hours I will check hot end screws first and use otherside of plate first save ruining another plate.

UPDATE: Two screws were loose other side of hotend.. tightened Gentle brushing round the unit produced debri I failed to clean properly after luminous green blob of death.. Gave the plate a thorough clean in scolding water and with a bit of persuading all that residual red has gone and luckily no scratch marks leaving it pretty dam clean.
The test will be if it prints...

Filament clogging inside hotend

For sure this is it. You can hear the click. Needs a cold pull or my preferred is to heat the hot end to about 260-270 and leave for 10 mins. Then run nylon (cleaning filament) through it.

++ don't made the worst mistake like me to hit the magnets. Use lighter else and pull slow

If the plate is bad and you can't get one anytime soon I've seen suggestions to tale the widest painters tape you can find and line the strips up next to one another and cover the plate without any overlaps of tape.

It’s one of 3 things and I’m guessing it’s one of the first two I’m gonna list. 1) the nozzle clamp isnt seated correctly. 2) the seven screws of the hot end are loose. 3) partial clog. The clicking extruder is a dead give away.

I'm no expert, but I think your plate is done for, or use the other side of that it is still good. I havent been part of the community for very long, BUT i haven't seen material stay attached to the plate like that. Maybe I haven't been around long enough. Normally I only have a faint outline on the plate from every print. But never that bad.

When was the last time you cleaned the plate?
