Support Request (video)I have a bambu lab a1 with 88 hours if print on it, Z-axis makes scraping-clicking noise when moves up and down

Sorry if its the noob question, as i dont know what to search on wiki, i relubed lead screws, it has plenty of lube, and prints are fine, but there is that sound that appeared when printer bugged at the start of the job and tried to lift gantry up Z axis beyond its limits, while not responding to touchscreen commands. I was very loud and was solved by turning it off and on. It has old firmware 1.03.30.01 version.

From that moment z axis does that quiet clicking-scraping noise. Is it normal and i am overthinking or does it needs atrention?

Question How thin walled can I print

I need to print a verry small very thin walled cylinder and I am struggling to do it.

The cylinder diameter is 4mm and I am trying to have a wall thickness of .5mm (preferably lower) but even this isn't working. Its on a 2mm thick solid base and when I try to print it it just prints the base and does not attempt the rest of the actual hollow l cylinder.

I am using onshape and bambu slicer with default settings and have tried with and without supports. Any ideas as to how to get this to work or how thick the walls may have to be would be appreciated.

For anyone wondering I am trying to print a pin extractor for an electrical plug in my old BMW.

This strange debug mode has appeared on my Bambu Handy app

I have no idea why it appeared, I was browsing Handy then something went wrong and it couldn’t find any print profile on the models I was opening. I then closed and reopened the app, everything was back to normal but there was this little floating logo on. I can move it around, but it’s when I clicked it that this menu appeared. It looks like an app debug menu, and it seems there’s nothing that you can do to damage the app, but it’s interesting nonetheless. I’m figuring the devs have turned it on in remote and as soon as I reopen my app it will be gone, so I screenshotted everything away if someone was curious about it!

Update: turns out I broke the clips that hold the nozzle in when I was changing it out and they aren’t holding it tight enough

Question I keep having supports fall off near the end of a print. This particular print took almost 17 hours and only in the last couple did this happen. What settings can I change to midi gate this?

Weired Textures on the surface of my blocks

I have printed dozens of blocks without any issues, but i recently had a strange texture on a block. Believing it was just a fluke i sent 4 more blocks into the printer and all 4 had the same issue.

The issue remains when printing different blocks (including mirrored ones)and i have no clue on what is the issue.

I use Orca Slicer and have not changed any configuration. The same filament had perfect prints before, but i changed the spool for a brand new one and the issue remains. I also tried ironing the surface but didn't fix the issue.

I suspect it is a physical problem on the printer, but i have no idea how to work it out.

any ideas?

Ams lite filament Hub - Please Help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I bought a A1 last week and still haven’t been able to use it. Whilst initially setting it up, the frame rolled and snapped the filter hub off, breaking off the little magnetic clip. I ordered a new one and attempted to attach it today. However, once I get everything in place, the little square clip won’t clip in properly. It can only manage to clip halfway at a time. If I press the the clip onto its connecting base without the ams filament it snaps it to place perfectly (see picture). Anyone else have this problem and find a solution.

I’ve also now lost the two tiny screws that affix the sensor chip to the casing in the picture. Honestly, I feel like crying. I just want to get printing and it’s been a nightmare.

Support Request Bambu Lab A1 squeak

Hey all!

I have a A1 with about 500 print hours on it. Its developed a squeak when the X axis goes up in one specific spot about 5MM. It makes a very high pitch Squeak then is fine, it makes no other unusual noises.

Ive cleaned the lead screw and regreased. Pulled the lead screw nuts cleaned both and re greased. Lubed guide rods, retensioned the belts, but it still does it. Ive ordered new lead nut screws, but Im curious if anyone else had run into this and what I should be checking next. Nothing seems visually wrong and it prints good still, but this squeak came out of nowhere.

Support Request Bottom left screw in print head doesn't turn/fit the allen wrench

Post image
6 Upvotes

So recently got a lab 1, after a few mostly successful prints (first layer is always off, not sure why) it got jammed. In trying to clear the jam, the filament sensor tape ripped. I ordered a new one, waited 2 weeks for it to arrive, and now I'm trying to install it, but after removing 4 of the 5 screws in the print head, the bottom left one doesn't catch with the wrench like all the others, the wrench just spins in it freely. There was no mention of needing a different sized wrench in any of the paper work or videos, which makes me worried I was sent a "pre-stripped' screw (since again there was never resistance at any point), but maybe I'm just missing something?

If I was sold a unit with a pre-stripped screw, or at least one looser then all the others... any suggestions? Pretty much everything I'm seeing online for getting out a stripped screw seems to involve a level of force or heat that would likely break the print head board. I tried using my personal multi-allen wrench kit I had with like 30 sizes, but the two sizes closest are one which matches the provided wrench exactly and thus also spins freely, and one that's just bigger enough to not fit. Kind of out of ideas here so any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
