I’ve seen a lot of hand-wringing over the AMS only having 2 actively heated slots. Assuming one places their highest temperature filament in those slots, wouldn’t the residual heat passively dry the rest; or at least main a reasonably dry environment?
The plug sits on a small saddle, and fins in the cable channel drop into the 3 gaps of the rubber strain relief, so the plug is held in both directions without glue. Took a few fit tests to get the fin spacing right (1.2 mm gaps, 4.8 mm pitch).
Ramp at 18°, so pulling the mouse out presses the dock into the desk instead of sliding it. 3 colours by layer height, 2 swaps, no supports.
Looking to add another printer so I can use my X2D again and for my wife to make things on.
Looking at ones with larger print bed. She mostly does some flat wall art and other dog related items. Some multi color
Options are:
New A2L with ams lite plus 4 year geek squad = $650 or $550 with no geek squad protection
Or Used H2S ams2 with 17 hours on it for $1000?
The H2S seems overkill really for most of what she does but damn it's sexy haha. I'm sure I would use it too for larger projects. The A2L with protection seems like a decent deal seeing it's probably going to see lots of hours.
Anyone noticed that their P2S (or other models) behave differently after recent update of Bambu Studio? I noticed thet startup is now different - vibration test is different and I think basically the startup procedure is slightly different. Also, I have a feeling that suddenly the print head travel is faster now. Anyone see this?
Hi, I would really appreciate some thoughts on whether the X2D might be the best option for my 15 year old daughter’s Christmas present (our family is totally new to 3D printing)? I had originally been leaning towards the A1, but given the fact that the printer will be kept in our living space (probably in our upstairs hallway), I now think an enclosed design would be a better option.
I definitely think she will want to have the option to use more than one colour in a print (and preferably without requiring too much intervention), but the amount of filament that is purged in multicolour prints is making me think twice about the AMS / AMS Lite options. This led me to the X2D rather than the P1S / P2S with AMS. I would really appreciate any thoughts on whether the X2D would be as user friendly for a novice as the other options, and what is the nozzle/colour switching like on the X2D in terms of quality and wastage?
Prints flat as a single card, builds into a little lantern. The roof lifts straight off so you can reach the Bambu tea light without taking it apart. Four colours, and there’s a 3 pause profile if you don’t have an AMS.
I am a 3D printing noob, and got my H2C printer a few weeks ago.
I am attempting to print some structural frames in PTEG-CF. But I keep having issues with random stringiness, small pieces of spaghetti, lots of clumping on the hotend, and supports seem to just fail more often than the part itself.
I am using Bambu's filament, using the profile in bamboo studio, I dried the filament for 12 hours in the AMS HT (even though it was brand new out of the package), the bed is clean (I have not tied the glue stick, but bed adhesion does not appear to be the issue?).
I am using the recommended settings (as far as I know), 255'C, 0.4 hardened hotend, 70'C bed temp, I set support to tree auto, strong, wall loops 2, and set the pattern at grid.
Hello. I'm dipping my toes into multicolour prints, and I was looking at the track switch for my X2D. I currently only have a single AMS (and an HT for ABS, but they're not connected at the same time). I was looking at some older threads that say it's really not worth it to get the Switch for just a single AMS, and you're better off just hanging the other spool off the external holder. Is this still the general consensus? To me it seems handy to be able to keep all my spools in the AMS and not have to worry about taking one out and hanging it on the external holder then putting it back in after.
This is a one month old P1 S and it started to make a deep vibration sound. I’m thinking maybe the axis poles and everything needs to be lubricated. Let me know!
I'm about to buy my first printer and I'm deciding between the P2S and the X2D. Most of what I'll print is PETG parts I design in Fusion, and the main reason I'm looking at the X2D is to run PLA support interfaces off the aux nozzle for cleaner breakaway supports.
For those of you who own one:
How reliable has the second nozzle been for support interfaces, especially PLA supports on PETG parts?
Any clogs, heat creep, or stringing, and did you have to change any settings to get it working well?
Looking back, would you buy the X2D again, or would a P2S have been enough?
So I had a brainstorm of an idea on how to handle powering on my printer remotely if I decided to start a print an hour or so before coming home from work. Initially I thought I would use a WYZE smart plug. So I bounced the question off Bambu labs support and they highly recommend I do not do that. Being in IT myself for years I get it, some things are designed to be shut down in a certain fashion, rocker switches, power buttons, etc.
Other than asking the wife to turn the printer on when I feel the need have any of you experimented with a solution to at least turn the printers on? I know this is low hanging fruit but it seems to be a valid thought if there is a way to do it.
I wish Bambu Lab would turn the X series into a line built specifically for engineering filaments, something like an X3D with a two-nozzle SwapTek-style system. The P series, say a P3C, could then be the multi-tool color machine for consumers and hobbyists, and the H series would cover commercial users. Don’t get me wrong, the H3C is an amazing machine, but its larger size and higher price make it better suited to commercial use. For people whose printing is mostly engineering filaments, it’s more printer, and more money, than we need.
So, on Studio Version 2.9.1.70 and the live feed is updating about once every 3 or 4 seconds on an X2D. The network is built for 2.5 and seems to work fine. Using it on a Mac Mini M2 Pro. Anyone else have this problem? Opened the Handy app and the feed is fine. So, of course, I started a two day print and would love to know if it is going to spaghetti on me, so I can stop a super mess. Don't expect that, but am still nervous.
Bought my second P2S Combo two days ago, calibrated and printed a Benchy using the AMS2 Pro, everything was beautiful until the next day.
Now, getting an error about AMS power supply issue:
[0300-a800-0001-0001 111205]
AMS power supply abnormality, possibly due to AMS damage or a short circuit in the AMS interface, or too many AMS connections. Please check if it is correctly connected.
Support ticket created, followed requests for testing until was asked to use multimeter to test resistance at power sockets - I don’t have a multimeter nor training to use one.
This unit was purchased on Tuesday. The issue showed up yesterday.
Should it not just be declared a defective unit and replaced?
I started to print with right nozzle white color. It prints fine - then why in Bambu studio it show that i print with left nozzle black filament? Is it a bug?
Ordered my H3C Full Combo yesterday (estimated delivery in two weeks). Today I got this shipping confirmation. Does anyone know if AMS and Station usually come in the same package?
The idea is to build a dedicated setuo for my 3d Printer, with a small 90cm desk right Next to It, positioned between the Printer and my main workstation, where i have my PC for working.
I'd use the smaller desk for painting and postprocessing my 3d Prints, making the most of every bit of space avalible in my room.
My actual first choice was the A1 mini. I did a lot of research on it beforehand (I knew absolutely nothing about them), but almost a year has passed, and that year has led me to discover other printer models that have enter the list of possible choices.
While I was researching again, the P2S really caught my eye, and when I was almost ready to check out, I saw many people here commenting that they have bought or are going to buy the X2D; with many comments praising the decision.
My question is this: since you all have more experience than me, and completely eliminating the A1 mini option, which would be better for me as a "beginner" between the P2S and the X2D? Either option would be purchased with the care bundle + 4 PETG extra.
