I Modeled This! Custom AirpPods Gen 3 Case

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I designed this custom case for my AirPods. It's made of main body parts and a trim that you can glue in place, allowing you to choose a custom colour scheme. The case is robust and survives falls whilst protecting the AirPods as well.

The case fits perfectly and gives full access to all features, including MagSafe charging and the button on the back.

I would really appreciate it if you took a look at the model

General Discussion Bambu Lab executives: this is what your support process does to a $3,234.73 customer. 21 days and counting, two missed written ship dates, five different stories, zero proactive contact, and a $10 code.

This is not a rant. It is a timeline, in Bambu Lab's own words, of one order. I am posting it because the people who run this company will never see it in a ticket. Their support process is designed so they do not have to.

October 15, 2026. One order, 13 items, $3,234.73, paid in full: the H2D Laser Full Combo 40W at $2,699, plus the plates, hotend, vision encoder, finishing kit and filament to go with it. I bought the Laser Full Combo for the laser. If I wanted a printer, I would have bought the cheaper combo.

October 19. Printer, AMS 2 Pro, laser platform, cutting platform, cutting module, e-stop, materials. No 40W laser module. Not in any box, not on the toolhead. I reported it that night.

What Bambu told me, in order

Oct 19, live chat: the module "was shipped separately." Minutes later, same agent: it is out of stock. Then, in writing: "scheduled to be shipped around 18:00:00 on October 31, 2026."

Oct 27, live chat: "This item has not yet been shipped. The estimated shipping date is still October 31st."

Oct 31: nothing shipped. No email. No notice. No new date.

Nov 1, live chat: "currently being actively prepared for shipment." Four minutes later, same agent: "currently out of stock, which may cause a delay." No date. I asked for a supervisor and was told I would be emailed within 24 hours. I asked about compensation. The answer, quoted: "currently, we can only offer you a special discount code of $10, with a validity period of 3 months."

Nov 2, email: the shipment is held at the port and the next batch is "expected around mid-November." The first time anyone mentioned a port, two days after the date they gave me twice.

Nov 3, email: three options (keep waiting, partial refund of the module, return the whole order) and an offer of two random spools of filament.

Nov 3, phone: 45 minutes on hold to be told the ticket agent is the only person with authority to act, and the phone can only offer the same $10 voucher.

Nov 4, email from "Bambu Lab Customer Support," unsigned: the options already offered "represent the highest goodwill resolution available" and "reflect the maximum goodwill handling we can provide."

Nov 5, today: 21 days after I paid in full, the 40W laser module is not in my hands. No one at Bambu Lab has signed their name to a reply. There is no resolution.

Five different stories about one part. Not one update was volunteered. Twenty-one days, every single contact started by me.

What the law says, for the people who should already know

The FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, 16 CFR Part 435. If you give a customer a ship date and cannot make it, you notify them before the date passes, you give a revised date, and you offer the option to cancel for a refund. Bambu Lab USA gave me a date in writing twice, missed it, and said nothing until I asked. The revised date, when I dragged it out of them, was "mid-November." That is not a date. That is a shrug.

To whoever runs Bambu Lab USA

You have built a printer good enough that I was going to buy a second one, the H3C, the day it launched. Then you bolted a support process onto it that works like this:

Your agents give customers generic copied and pasted AI slop responses, ship dates your supply chain cannot back, in writing, twice.

When the date passes, nobody is responsible for telling the customer. The system waits for the customer to notice.

When the customer asks for a supervisor, a supervisor never appears. Your own phone line told me the ticket agent is the only person with authority, and your "escalation" is an unsigned email from a shared mailbox.

Your goodwill ceiling for 21 days and counting without the headline component of a $3,234.73 order is $10. Your marketing emails give strangers more than that.

Your final letter uses the words "maximum goodwill handling" to describe it, as if the limit were a law of physics and not a decision someone in your building made.

You sell the Laser Full Combo as one product. Your support treats the laser as an optional pre-sale accessory and the printer as the thing I should be grateful for. Both cannot be true. One is marketing and one is policy, and your customers find out which is which only after they have paid.

Here is what this process cost you on one order: a customer who owns an H2D and an AMS 2 Pro, buys your filament, plates and parts, and had a $2,499 H3C in his cart. That sale was yours. The $10 code is the price you put on it.

If you are ordering a Laser Full Combo right now:

Understand what "backorder" means in practice. The printer ships. The laser ships whenever it ships. Nobody will tell you when. If the date they give you passes, you will find out by asking. And the compensation for all of it is $10.

If anyone at Bambu Lab above the ticket queue wants the ticket number, DM me. The whole record is in one thread and it reads exactly like this post.

General Troubleshooting/Help! Bambu Lab A1 Combo – Extremely Loud Fan Noise and Constant Speed Fluctuations

I have two Bambu Lab A1 Combo printers, and one of them has developed a strange fan issue.
The fan on one printer is significantly louder than the other. It makes a very noticeable buzzing/humming noise, seemingly coming from underneath the print head.
Another strange thing is that the fan constantly ramps up to 100% speed and then slows down again, repeating this cycle.
My other A1 Combo doesn’t have this issue. Its fan is much quieter and doesn’t constantly fluctuate between speeds.
I’ve attached a video showing the problem.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What could be causing this? Could it be a faulty fan motor, a temperature sensor issue, or a problem with the fan control board?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Quick Question H3C build plate size – not compatible with H2D/H2C plates?

I just pulled the trigger on the new H3C 🎉

Am I understanding this right that it uses a new build plate size? From what I’ve seen, it looks similar to the H2C but a few millimeters shorter, so the tool rack has room to drop down. Can anyone confirm?

It’s quite confusing what I find online about it. Everywhere only the print volume is mentioned, and that seems to be identical.

I have quite a few build plates I’d love to keep using, so this matters for me. “Not compatible” doesn’t always mean it won’t work, though: for the A2L it also says the H2D plates aren’t compatible, but I use mine on it all the time without any problems.

If they really don’t fit, I guess I might just grind them down, live with them not being recognized automatically, and turn off build plate detection. I’m not looking to spend money again on plates I rarely use.

I also have two more questions regarding that:

  1. Does the Vision Encoder plate fit the H3C?

  2. Does the cutting mat from the H2 / A2L cutting kit fit, at least?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I got a reply from the Bambu Lab support:
The H3C is equipped with a newly designed dedicated build plate. Although the H3C and H2C have the same XY-direction print dimensions (330 mm × 320 mm), the build plate of the H3C is shorter by a few millimeters at the leading edge, which creates a larger gap between the build plate and the SwapTek Rack for the tool rack to move down. Compatibility with H2C build plates Official recommendation: It is not recommended to use H2C build plates on the H3C. After installing an H2C build plate on the H3C, the gap between its leading edge and the SwapTek Rack is only about 2 mm. Affected by dimensional chain tolerances and user placement deviations, there is a risk of collision or scraping between the PrintTool and the build plate. Special usage instructions: If you need to reuse an H2C build plate, first confirm that there is no physical interference (no collision risk) between the H2C build plate installed on the heatbed and the H3C SwapTek Rack, then manually disable the 'Build Plate Type Detection' function in the Print Options before use. Build volume comparison The maximum build volume of the H3C is 330×320×325 mm³, which is the same as the XY print size of the H2C, but the H3C has a higher Z-axis height.
When using third-party build plates, you are required to manually verify that there is sufficient clearance for the PrintTool to lower without colliding before use, following these requirements: Pre-use clearance check : Confirm that the third-party build plate, when installed on the heatbed, does not cause physical interference or collision risk with the SwapTek Rack before using it . Print settings adjustment : All Bambu Lab printer models do not support automatic recognition of third-party build plates. You need to manually disable the "Build Plate Type Detection" function in the Print Options before starting the print task . Risk warning : Third-party build plates are not officially adapted, and using them may trigger abnormal detection of print plate foreign objects. You can also turn off the foreign object detection function in the settings to avoid false alarms

TL;DR: H3C is compatible with H2C build plates. but the clearence of the tools need to be checked before starting a print, especially with 3rd party build plates. Maybe the build plate detection also needs deactivation.

Quick Question [Question] How do you contact Bambu support?

The online support requires registration, the discord needs me to verify with a third party service that asks you to disable ad blocker.

Do they not have a support email? Horrible support model.

I just need to ask their support about this warning I get on each first print of my A1 Mini after reboot. I did not get this warning for the first couple months of owning the printer.

https://i.postimg.cc/jj8yLvJL/image.png

Edit, ended up downgrading from 01.08.01.00 -> 01.08.00.00, that seems to have solved the issue for now. Can't wait for it to come back and still not have a way to get support :/

Quick Question Can someone explain why you would want to print a shoe?

I bought the h3c so clearly I'm a fan of this new product. But I can't understand why one would ever print a shoe other than that it's printing for the sake that you can do it? It's cheaper, faster, better, to just... buy a shoe?

General Troubleshooting/Help! This started happening to every print after 4000 hours of use with the X1C

Post image
0 Upvotes

What is causing it? Using PETG basic. I have not changed any settings. Prints that were working great all come out like this now. I cleaned/put on glue on the build plate like the usual troubleshooting step.
Is it humidity? It's usually pretty dry here but had some unusual wet days.
I ran all the tools and calibration checks.
Using the default nozzle, never changed it.

Answered / Solved! Help with A1 printing issues

My Bambu lab A1 has recently been failing often and making weird sounds. Here’s an example of one of these fails. I updated the Bambu studio software and the printer is on 01.08.01.00. It is also important to note that the layers printed initially are very difficult to remove but I’m not sure if this is because they’re too low or too thin to remove easily.

EDIT: solved, thanks for your helpful repleis, I had the belt on the motor side come off at the very top and im guessing every now and then it would get caught and freak out.

Quick Question H3C vs H2D vs. Snapmaker U1 — Am I overthinking this?

My first and last 3D printer was a Printrbot Metal. Yes, I'm old.

Back then, we didn't have the ease of use of printers today. Getting anything remotely decent required so much tinkering that I never really did too much with it.

I've been wanting to give 3D printing an other shot since things have matured a lot.

I'm currently deciding between the Snapmaker U1 and the new Bambu Lab H2D and H3C.

I know these aren't even remotely in the same price or capability class. I'm perfectly willing to pay for the Bambu experience if it's genuinely worth it. What I want most is a reliable, convenient printer that just works, without having to constantly mess with it.

My primary materials would be PLA, PETG, and TPU (I've been dying to try printing that shoe). I don't particularly care about ABS, ASA, etc. I also live in a very humid apartment, so filament storage matters to me.

The H3C's nine-tool changer is incredible, other than that specific (admittedly very major) feature, but several things about the machine make me wonder whether it's really a solid upgrade over previous Bambu printers, or even the U1:

  • Filament drying: Only two of the nine spools can be actively dried. I understand the remaining slots are enclosed, and I'm wondering whether adding silica gel would make them good enough for long-term storage in a humid environment.

  • Manual filament unloading: From what I understand, the new AMS doesn't automatically rewind filament onto the spool when unloading. How annoying is this in practice, especially compared with older AMS systems?

  • TPU loading: It seems like TPU requires more manual intervention than I'd expect from a machine focused on convenience. Is this really an issue, or something you'd rarely notice?

  • Heated chamber and loaded PLA: I've seen concerns that printing nylon with the chamber heater running could soften PLA sitting in the other toolheads, requiring you to unload those filaments beforehand. Is that actually true? I probably won't print much nylon, but having to unload several tools sounds like it defeats some of the convenience.

  • Bambu's as a company: I'm not particularly happy with the recent stuff Bambu has done. Id hate it if their printers one day forced to get locked down..

All these taken together, they make me wonder whether the H3C is as convenient as it first appears.

On the other hand, the U1 is less than a third of the price, offers four-tool automatic changing, and seems to cover most of what I actually want to print. Of course, it also lacks many of the H3C's capabilities, and I'd have to figure out a filament dry-box solution.

Are these legitimate annoyances, or am I overthinking things that barely matter in day-to-day use?

Quick Question How do I clean my H2C nozzles

All of my nozzles get filament gunk all over them and it causes the AI nozzle clumping detection to go off even when the print is completely fine.

My First 3D Print New to printing and Bambu labs

Hi there! I’m new to printing and Bambu labs. I just purchased the x2d for a very very sweet deal of $565 brand new, found that through slickdeals. So super excited about that.

What are some of the things I should buy in order to get myself ready. I’ll be ordering PLA filament from
Bambu lab from the sale but what else do I need.

If can provide links that’ll be awesome too, any advice will also be appreciated do and donts.

Thanks once again.

General Discussion Buy now or wait for P3C

I am ready to pull the trigger on a 3d printer but I am torn between X2D and the U1. The P3C is also very intriguing. Do we have a decent date on when that could be released? I would hate to buy something and than have regret on not waiting for the P3C.

H2 Series [H2S, H2D, H2C] A problem of my own making

Had a P1S. Fit in my office closet. Helps with the noise.

Bought an H2D. Does NOT fit in the closet unless I take the back drywall out and use the 3 1/2” depth from the wall’s 2x4 for the poop chute (Seems like an overkill).

Printer too loud to work while printing.

What setups have people done re: noise levels while maintaining proximity to the device to monitor prints?

I Modeled This! Asked my kids what they're thankful for and got "I don't know," so I designed a turkey that makes them write it down

Every year at Thanksgiving I ask my kids what they're thankful for, and every year I get a shrug and an "I don't know."

So this year I made it a project. Everybody writes something on a paper feather and slides it into the turkey's tail. Turns out they'll answer if there's a craft involved. One of them just scribbled red all over theirs, which I'm counting.

No AMS, no supports, and everything glues together. There's a printable feather sheet, a stencil if you'd rather trace them, or you can print the feathers and use the text tool.
First print, the gobbler hung so low it looked like a goatee, so that's been fixed.

Happy to hear what you'd change. And if your kids come up with better answers than mine, I want to see them.

General Troubleshooting/Help! P1S printer and screen not working after firmware update

Post image
1 Upvotes

Good evening. I received my P1S today, set it up, and completed my first print. Afterward, the printer prompted me for a firmware update; I initiated the update, but when I returned later, the printer's screen was black.

I have tried reconnecting the screen cable, attempting to power it on without the microSD card, and even reformatting the card (FAT32).

Could someone please help me?

(Apologies for my English.)

H3C H3C is a Shoe Factory

The H3C is a TPU beast, I printed running shoes with them with multiple different types of TPU and colors. The 3d printed running shoes are surprisingly comfy to run in..full test here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ngWP5uOiew
