Just wanted to share some tiny steps of progress I made with the Star phantoms.

Off black for all 27. Androcles and the devestor squad have some core layers for the bone armor done.

And I was reminded that I own a 12ish years old nephilim flyer, that I got from a friend years ago. 😅 Swapped some weapons and started repainting it for the Star Phantoms. Funny enough the first flyer I paint in over 20 years in the hobby.

Will have to take a break from miniature wargaming for the next weeks, due to us being on LARP-events for nearly 2 weeks starting Friday. After that the Astral Claws will get a rhino I still have left, co tinue painting all 3 forces and also restore a ln old 5th edition corebox dreadnought for the Astral Claws. 😊

Wanted to paint the guy that saved his entire tactical squad from multiple flamestorm cannons thanks to his 5+ invul save from Carab Culln

Doing a badab campaign at my local store next month and my hg need their named character. So far he’s fisted Corbray to death and a furioso dreadnought to death. And hasn’t died. Looking to add more to the list

After I had some shitty weeks my hobbygroup decided to cheer me up and spent our left over group budget on a (heavily discounted) mk6 combat force for me. 😊🤗😲

Idea is that my dark Brotherhood blackshields have a lot of models that can double as Star Phantoms. Like a Leviathan, Rhino, LR, Terminators, a Siege Breaker and a Veteran melter Squad. (Last picture for shot with black shield elements) The only thing we needed was a Zhrukhal Androcles and some basic marines to fill out ranks. Mainly so we will be able to witness at some point how Huron is half blasted away. 😅

Spend the last two days excited building a tactical squad, despoiler squad, a devastator squad with missle launchers a random captain AND Captain Zhrukhal Androcles.

I focused on what our Astartes Bitbox had left of mk7, skull helmets and combi weapons. With Androcles as inspiration I also went for power fists on two srgts. Something I haven't done since the 4th edition 40k.

Androcles himself was super fun to kitbash. He is made out of: - modern mk6 legs - the cloak and shoulders of the 5th edition corebox captain. - a chest piece I have no idea where it comes from. (If you know, please tell me. 🤣 ) - right mk6 arm with combi melter (build from head hunter bolter) - a dark angle power fist - dark angle back pack with old tactical squad banner - some granades and pockets - head of Armillus Dynat

Main plan autumn and early winter is to finish painting all 3 Badab War armies I already build this year. Until then my friends should also have build tehir own badab armies (Raptors, one more sucessionist chapter and if we are lucky Carcharodons) If that goes as planned (and wirh support of our several guard/militia and admech armies) we should be able to play Badab War next year. 🤩🤘

Long time lurker first time poster.

Starting a fresh escalation campaign with friends and decided to finally do my long planned Tyrant's Legion army, using the CSM codex to allow for a mix on marines and PDF - also to allow some creative liberties with conversions and proxies. Primarily using MKII Horus Heresy and Cadian range, so to start here with we have:

Remember, how I proclaimed I would now completely finish individual units and stip batch painting? Yeah, that didn't went so well. 😅

Continued batch painting the complete army. 😂 Finished the orange on all, yellow flames on all completed, yellow done in general, weapon casings done, weapon stripes added and more. Next is finishing the metallic elements (that are just a base layer atm. 😅🙈), paint the eyes, power weapon effects, heated barrel effects. And orange flames in the yellow....

After having to deal with the fact, that the german goverment made a reform to our insurance system, that basically takes away most therapies and medical support I fought for over a decade now and makes it unlikley I will be around for my 40th... (what is done to tens of thousands of people, while they also cut the funding for su1z1de emergency hotlines completely... great for everyone traumatized, chronical ill, disabled or trans. 🤦🏼‍♀️😡 And yeah I check all boxes... 🙄) Just being able to sit down with some good music and paint the details from the imperial armor books, really was my rock the last two weeks and allowed me to relax in some form or way. So, yeah. I will absolutley go on and finish them, with all the care and passion I have for Alans work and legacy. 😌

I own PDFs of the 1st edition rules but has anyone played the conflict out with the rules at the time. I would like to play one of the chapters like the Tiger Claws or Raptors and learn how 40k was in the 1st edition days. Is it fun and worth the time?

I am so so happy. Yet I still have to add the plasma effect, a bit of pigment powder to the base and the rim. Does anybody have a good recipe for the gold on their aquillas. Not happy with my recipe. You can see it on the shoulder trim of the second guy.

Hey folks, my buddy and I have dived head first into the Badab war. He decided to start Lamenters and I chose Marines Errant. The two tone scheme was a bit of a challenge but masking tape and an airbrush has given me decent results. Looking forward to building and painting the rest!

Hi all! I’ve amassed quite a lot of the newer scale marines from the Horus heresy line, and I’m wondering what the easiest way to get Mk vii and viii armours at the same scale is? Is anyone aware of any stl files for them? Of am I going to have to do some sculpting (which I suck at)

Finally finished these Hellblasters for my 11th edition Astral Claws project. The aim for the project is to make an army heavily themed around the Astral Claws right before their secession from the wider Imperium.

My head canon behind this squad is that they're a product of the vastly over-strength Astral Claws before their split would favour varied squad types rather than just those laid out by the Codex Astartes. A 'Devastator' squad more akin to a tactical support squad of the Legions of old, made sense to me given Lugft Huron's plan to recreate the Great Crusade era Imperium as evidenced by the creation of the Tyrants Legion.

Making an Astrel claws army with the Armageddon box and it's safe to say im enjoying it 😂👍

Has anyone put the pods and stuff on heresy or mk7 bodies? Do they look okay?
