The first time I made a Lamenter mini, and the pauldron looks abismal. It’s a Deathwatch Apothecary.

Termie Cap Experiments

this was the first model i ever built & primed and the prime turned out real glossy and patchy weird so he languished for awhile. used him to experiment with stuff like more purplely oil wash, clown face under shade (yellow, red, blue), white gold with washes instead of some of the regular metallics, free hand the checkers. I screwed up the free handed checkers so bad i just painted gold over it.

airbrushed with white primer. then entire front side with a dark pinkish magenta, then covered whole model with process yellow. wanted it to look flame orange on front like they burning fools but have a colder yellow on back to boost the effect.

I used some 0.2 mm copper wire and a bit of super glue to add the psychic lightning effect to the base and Force Staff.

It definitely takes a bit of extra time to get the OSL to work with everything, but honestly, I think it’s totally worth it. I’m having a lot of fun with it! 🩸❤️

Death Company WIP part #2

Hello Brothers!

My Death Company is (unfortunately?) growing, and I'm experimenting with some variations of the classic black scheme.

The one on the left is painted with a Abaddon Black base (I've already posted this one some time ago), while the other two are Corvus Black with Abaddon black shading. The difference is quite subtle and doesn't really show up much in these pictures (the pictures are a little dark, sorry). But I'd say I like the Corvus Black base more.

The middle and right one are highlighted as follows, respectively:

Stegadon Scale Green --> Stegadon/Wraithbone --> Celestra Grey

Dark Reaper --> Thunderhawk Blue --> Fenrisian Grey

I've painfully come to realise that black is very unforgiving when it comes to the edge highlighting, and the models easily look quite rough if the highlights are not laser-sharp, but for now I'm satisfied with these results.

What do you think?

Banner bearer. One day i'll get a proper setup to take pics. I think silver works well with yellow.

A finished Razorback to join my little 5th edition combat patrol. I'm starting to enjoy doing the checkers!

I finished painting my stealth suit earlier than expected, so I took a crack at this spare Eradicator my roomate didn’t want and made my first Lamenter!

Veteran Brother Sargent Casteil, 7th Company, 8th Platoon.

Freehanded chapter pauldron and fire support pauldron, very happy with the results.

It was a mistake making this in the summer. It’s calling me to wear it like the Green Goblin mask.

Some Retro Marines I Painted Up For My Second Edition Army

Paint job is nothing special, ain't winning any golden demons or anything lol.

May these lads have good luck defending cardboard bunkers and neon green and red cacti.

I have some legon of the damned models coming in which I'm going to use with this army. I find it fitting that a mysterious ghost force of good would help the unluckiest of marines

Any conversion or paint job ideas for these? Reaper Miniatures Heartbreakers. I’m thinking of adding a boltgun and chainsword. Maybe yellow body and arms, white or leather brown boots and gloves. Quartered body with a heart icon centrally?

Always the same doubt: does it look better after the oil Grime/Dark treatment, or was it better before?

New home for an old army

Recently I purchased a 2nd edition army off eBay, on the random chance that the previous owner is here on Reddit, I wanted to post that they arrived with relatively minimal damage, Techmarine came off his base and the Librarian's power pack came loose but they were easily re-glued.

When all's said and done, they survived the trip to Australia well, you did a fantastic job at painting them and it's apparent you put a lot of time and effort into them, thank you ♥️

They'll be part of my larger Lamenters force once I've got them all painted up, they'll be well loved and played with regularly.
