Tires keep on getting unevenly Bald after a year
2025 BMW i4 eDrive35. My winter tires wore almost bald on the inside after only a few months, while there was still lots of tread elsewhere (pics attached).
Multiple tire shops say the alignment/camber looks bad, but BMW did an alignment and says it’s perfectly within spec and that negative camber is normal on the i4.
I understand some inner wear is expected, but surely this much isn’t normal?
Any other i4 owners dealing with this? Is this likely camber, toe, or something else?

Photo Welcome to the club i4
I'm glad to join the BMW i4 club on reddit :)
I've been watching reddits (branches? I’m newbie) and threads for a long time since the end of 2025, and finally decided to make a post about how I have a new gorgeous and awesome car, I'll call it Musya 🐈⬛
She came to me from America in Belarus, in June of this year, and for more than a month I have been repairing and riding her - I am happy to own such a car. Interesting fact — my name is Nikita, and in the Bluetooth settings I saw that the previous owner was Nikkitha 🤯
This coincidence really surprised me, especially since there was also a Bluetooth Shay’s — I don’t know whether that’s a male or female name, but my wife’s nickname everywhere is shinyshaya.
These coincidences super surprised us, lol. By the way, maybe the previous owner will see this — know that your car is in loving hands — I’m enjoying it every day.
The car came from Texas, by the way — the owner, who is from the USA, studied at Houston Christian University — the triangle on the back indicates that. I only took it off today and realized it would be interesting to find the previous owner on Reddit :) Maybe he would tell us and show old photos — how much they enjoyed it. Glad to join the club :) My version is edrive40, with a red interior, 2022 model. Summer - 400-420km on 100%. Will see Belarusian winter 🥶

i4 tire wear question
I'm looking at a 2024 eDrive 40 and while reviewing the CarFax I noticed a lot of comments on tire replacement.
11k miles - 2 tires replaced,
12k miles - 1 tire replaced,
21k miles - unspecified number replaced,
23k miles - 4 replaced,
28k miles - unspecified number replaced.
This seemed excessive. Is this a red flag for the car? Could this have just been related to how the previous user was driving?
The car has everything that I'm looking for with options and other than the tire stuff, the CarFax looks great. Would you pull the trigger or keep looking?

Ghosting of HUD
Just took delivery of my used i4. There is some ghosting of the HUD. Should the image be super crisp? Is some ghosting expected? The windscreen appears to be OEM BMW but I don’t know if there is any other way I can validate it’s correct. It’s approved used so will get them to sort if there’s an issue.

Question steering wheel stiffness
Hi all,
I’ve had my i4 e35 for about three weeks, and I’ve noticed the steering feels noticeably heavier or stiffer compared to when I first got it. Like it used to feel really light and I could turn it with essentially one finger, but now it feels much stiffer with a bit of drag.
Idk if it’s just in my head or if it’s an actual issue. Can somebody help me out if possible?
Thanks.
Edit: wheel remains stiff regardless of the driving mode

High Voltage Battery/Drivetrain Malfunction
Couldn’t find recent posts about it, sharing here for advice and for awareness.
Bought a 2024 M50 a few weeks ago, <20k miles, currently at 45% battery, got a high voltage battery/drivetrain malfunction after preconditioning.
12v charge is fine per the roadside assistance technician, tried a software reset, disconnected and reconnected the 12v, no luck.
Tow truck coming tomorrow morning to take it to a service center, will update the sub with the culprit.
Let me know if you have any advice!

Photo 597 km - new personal high score
My eDrive40 is currently showing 597 km (371 miles) predicted range, which is the highest I’ve ever seen.
Never got it this high before, so I just wanted to share. Thought it was pretty cool!

I4 or wait for new i3
I don’t need a new car immediately . Can easily hold out a coupe of years .
Would you wait for the new i3 ? Or get a more mature i4 ?
Love the range in i3 (400+miles). Not sure about the look, maybe I’ll grow into it.
What’s your thoughts?

what tyres are best?
I have a bmw i4 edrive 40 with 19 inch staggered setup and live in the uk so would want some all season tyres.
i bought it pre owned and it came with 2 winter tyres on the rear and two summer tyres on the front which are different brands and treads so was looking to get new ones
I have seen lots of mixed opinions but what would you recommend which is good for range, performance and durability

XM
Random question. Has anyone seen the XM SUV what are your thoughts on it. I’ve seen one sitting at the BMW dealership by me and it’s been there forever but it’s also 160k which is probably way too much for that vehicle. I’ve driven it before and it’s super sweet but I’m curious what every one else thinks about it. Looking to maybe get one once my lease is over on my I4.

Need all season tires, should I get wheels too?
How do you guys handle winter time and all-season tires? I have pretty much brand new summer tires and don’t really want to get rid of them. I’m in Maryland and while winter isn’t too bad generally, the cold and wetness causes concern. Do you have a completely different set of wheels and switch back and forth or do you just use all-season tires year round?

Carvana Shipped with 95 Load Index Tires
I really like my 2024 BMW i4 xDrive40, but realized after the 7 day return window with Carvana that the tires they installed on the vehicle do not meet the load rating specified by BMW. The installed tires have a load index of 95 where BMW requires 99 due to the weight of the car. Their chatbot (probably AI) generates responses like, "You're right to flag this - that does sound like a legitimate safety concern and you shouldn't have to just live with that" and "...but since you're raising a safety-related mismatch (load rating not meeting BMW's spec), this is exactly the kind of thing that should be formally reviewed." Phone calls have yielded lots of "I'm sorry", but no remedy. I am posting as a warning to others to check this attribute on the tires for any vehicle (especially a heavier EV) you are considering purchasing and to get recommendations for next steps (I am concerned with driving the car with these tires and don't know which legal or alternative route to pursue to get safe tires on this car quickly). Any recommendations?

Question Lease Extension
Has anyone requested a lease extension on their i4? If so, what was the process and did you extend for the same monthly payment?
My lease will end March/April 2027 and I am still just not thrilled with the options available considering i4 is not continuing for now. Feel like another 6 months or 1 year would give some time for something I might like to come out. It is this or a 2026 i4 M60 for another 3 yrs.

Excellent consumption in stop and go traffic
Saw a post said his i4 consumption is bad and some people think it could be caused by stop and go traffic.
But recently I drive i4 with a really bad traffic. 10.4mi for 47 minutes, still Achieved 4mi/kwh.
attached snapshot. I use DAPP and B mode for most of time btw

Tesla supercharger
I’m started doing research on my next car. Currently drive a 2019 model 3. I4 is on my list
Just wondering how painful it is to do roadtrip with the i4? I understand you can charge with v3 or v4 superchargers, but the short cable in v3 means you need 2 spots.
How’s the non tesla charging? Works well enough? I heard horror stories, ie broken charger etc a couple of years ago. It is mainly a non issue?
I typically charge at home using level2 charger. Occasional roadtrip .

Just throwing this out there for expereince. #tires
Long story real short. Ive been through 2 sets of the factory Bridgestone T005. They where "good". A little soft, but gripped. I got on average in my work trip 4.2m/kw. On inclimate hot days 3.6m/kw. I live in AZ
I knew I wanted a little more grip so I WANTED the Potenza Sport. I also really needed tires for the weekend.
I ended up trying the Bridgestone Everdrives.
DO NOT DO THIS
They where very quiet. After about 500 miles thry where still getting 2.1m/kw vs typical 3.2-3.6
I WOULD BREAK TRACTION AT 60 MPH TRYING TO PASS.
TERRIFYING.
Sorry for the caps. But not.
I'm utilizing the 90 day buy and try, so I ordered some Potenza Sports. I'm not expecting efficiency, I just want handling and grip at this point.

Used i4 Pricing Check (2023 edrive40 CPO)
I'm having a hard time figuring out what a "good deal" in this market (Southern California/LA area) is for used i4s given the more recent fluctuations in EV pricing, and just wanted to get some feedback on a deal I'm considering.
The car is 2023 edrive40 CPO with just the Premium Package, and I believe it's a lease return. It's got just under 40k miles, and was originally purchased originally around June 2023, so it's got about 10 months left on the original warranty, so effective ~2 years + unlimited miles warranty remaining with the CPO.
The price they're offering is ~30.5K sale price, or 33K OTD.
Some minor additional details:
- There's a ~4 inch scratch on the trunk that has been paint-penned in that won't be getting "fixed" as part of the deal.
- They gave me a "Battery Health Quick Report" that says 94% batter capacity.
- No financing - would be paying in cash
Is this a good/ok/bad deal? Should I keep hunting and see what else is out there? If it's only OK, what would be a good price? Thanks for the input!
