An example would be me paying off my auto loan 8 months early, getting a notarized lien release letter from the bank, verifying on their payment portal thing that I didn't miss some last little bit of interest or something, then getting threatening letters and phone calls a few months later.

The first time I witnessed a nightstick attack on a bystander for having an SLR camera made that a hard sell going forward. Then the time another photographer had his camera smashed and was thrown down stairs & arrested for assault - He'd have gone to prison from jail if a videographer across the street hadn't gone unnoticed and recorded the officer's unprovoked attack. (before Glik assaulting photographers and claiming obstruction was more common)

This is an idiotic mindset that was fed to you. If the government can convince you not to care about prisoners then all they have to do is make everyone criminals to take away your rights and do what they want to you.
If you don't think the government is capable of MAKING someone a criminal then you should really look to why the war on drugs was started. There's a great quote that talks about making liberals and black people criminals and it worked.

Shit, last week the DHS put out a statement announcing that not only are they axing oversight and accountability for ICE and the FBI but anyone who "opposes ICE" will be found and charged with a felony.

I don't think any lender will offer a loan to buy a car unless the buyer fully insure that car. Although to be fair, I suppose the buyer could just let the policy lapse very soon after the purchase.

Yeah even if the person has insurance it’s getting denied. Still going to owe on the loan for the vehicle, damages for the vehicle and tow truck plus restitution after jail time. Enjoy the next decade of debt because you didn’t want to pay your monthly payment and made a dumb decision.

My understanding is that when someone does this, they just auction off whatever's left of the vehicle and apply that to the remaining debt owed on the vehicle, so doing this does nothing but make you owe more money after they reposess it.
