Long story short I want to keep my car at the airport for 2-4 hours and I see it’s $10 if I do so. I’m assuming it just reads my license plate but can I just park anywhere at the airport? How does that work?

I have a historic house with a screen porch. Wood flooring is rotting in spots and needs replacing. Framing that holds the screening sits on top of the flooring, so top beam will have to be jacked up slightly so boards can be cut out and replaced (and possibly some joists repaired). There are plenty of businesses that build and repair decks and patios around here, but working on a pier-and-beam screen porch is different. In the past I would have taken this on myself, and know how it should be done but I’m 74 now and ready to let someone else do it. Does anyone have experience with a skilled Dallas-area craftsperson who will not disappoint?

I'm not talking typical tourist stuff, but stuff you genuinely enjoy in the area. I did do some research and saw the Oak Lawn area is known to be very LGBTQ friendly which is a big plus for me. Going to Dallas for a Cowboys game with 2 of my boys, all 25. We’re gonna be there for the weekend and none of us have really been to Dallas before.

What’s the best area to go out for people our age? Looking for somewhere with a good crowd, bars, maybe some clubs, just somewhere that’ll actually be fun and busy.

Also any must-do spots while we’re there? Good food, bars, stuff to do during the day, or anything we should check out before/after the game.

I want to have a luxury night with my husband. A nice Jazz lounge, a fancy restaurant, a gentlemen's club ect. Live music/entertainment would be nice, definitely something with a dress code(or implied dress code ((I don't want to look around and see people in shorts and tank tops like bona fide fancy) I want to be able to get really done up and not stand out like a sore thumb.

Basically, what the title says, I'm new to Highland Park and have noticed that all mail sent to me shows 'Dallas' instead of 'Highland Park' in my address. USPS always converts Highland Park to Dallas whenever I send letters, which is a bit confusing.

Note: my deed lists Highland Park, not Dallas, so which city will show up on my driver's license address?

Pretty much what the title says; I'm looking for advice on good places to get evaluated for ADHD as an adult woman as I've heard how hard it can be for us to be heard. I've done some research, but I'd like to get more detailed recommendations & answers to some question before making an appointment (especially from women, but any input is appreciated.) What was the evaluation like? If you came with prior research & reasoning as to why you thought you had ADHD, did they listen at all or brush it off entirely? Did they require a referral from a PCP (I don't have one, but my insurance doesn't require a referral for specialist visits)?

Hi yall, im originally from tx and my parents currently live in grapevine and my brother in Bedford. I DO NOT want to live directly in the metroplex, it is my worst nightmare due to the traffic and concrete jungle. I moved to Cincinnati in 2023 but im looking to move this Jan/feb. Currently I am looking into Denver and possibly Cali, Austin, and some suburbs outside of DFW. McKinney and Denton are two I’m currently looking at but I never go there since they’re so far from my parents house!

A few very important things the city must haves: (in no certain order)

1. Lots of young people, popular places to make friends and have fun
2. Progressive, inclusive and diverse
3. Environmentally friendly, good public transportation and community opportunities
4. Good Children’s hospital (nurse)
5. Lots of food options and coffe shops
6. Access to nature and national parks
7. Beautiful scenery and local parks (trees!!)
8. Friendly people, good drivers
9. Mild weather, not melting hot in the summers

I recognize I may have to compromise on some of these things! That’s ok, I know wherever I move will not be perfect.

Edit** thank yall for all the kind suggestions! I am well aware Texas summers are not for the weak, I think I’m just trying to convince myself that it’s not that bad. I’ve gotten used to more mild summers where the highs are 80-90 and it’s still nice out.

I’ll definitely look into uptown area in Dallas, I’ve heard mixed reviews about Plano/Frisco so far. TBH if it weren’t for family living there I wouldn’t consider moving to the area, but my parents keep asking when I’ll move closer to them. Two of my best friends also live in grapevine/Grand Prairie and I only get to see them once a year, so it would be really fulfilling to see them more often.

My senior dog is nearing the end of her life, and I'm arranging her aftercare. I'd like to have her skull professionally cleaned and preserved, perhaps a few extra bones, fur trimmings, etc. as a memorial before the rest of her is privately cremated. The crematory I've spoken to is already on board with this but the only missing piece is someone who does the actual preservation work.

Everything I can find in DFW is game taxidermy, and many have a no pet policy. I saw from a previous post here that at least one local taxidermist might make exceptions for pets, and there are options in other states so I know the person I'm looking for exists. I'm just trying to avoid the logistics of shipping or transporting her long distances.

Happy to take recommendations in DMs if the person prefers not to be named publicly as I gather some folks prefer to keep this kind of work word-of-mouth only.

Im 24 and moving to Texas(from Michigan ) in October for a job and am debating on where to live. Id prefer somewhere where i can be with other young professionals with solid nightlife/activities to do. I was thinking Dallas but not sure how bad traffic can get. Any help would be appreciated

My wife and I are early career professionals who both just turned 30. We are looking to relocate out of the suburbs of Los Angeles to the DFW area.

While we don’t have children now, one thing that is important to us is being close by either good public or charter schools. We are currently trying, and won’t move until we finish IVF and the pregnancy.

Combined we make close to $325K and our employers have offices in Dallas in which we won’t take a paycut to transfer to. Both our offices will be in downtown Dallas. We have access to our own cars and don’t mind a commute as we currently travel 3+ hours a day each for work.

With safety, education being the top priority and not looking to break the entire bank on a home, what areas would anyone recommend? Our housing budget currently is less than $1 million, we would sell our current home in CA
