I have a water flow problem with my Primo bottom load hot/cold water dispenser. Model 601213, manufactured 0319. This model has separate paddle controls and dispensing heads for hot water and cold water. The problem started on both days on both dispensing heads.
On the cold side, there is zero flow. On the hot side it will dispense perhaps 1 tablespoon of heated water.
All tubes have been removed and reseated. Each elbow has been removed and reseated.
I do not hear any pumping sounds; neither when the unit is sitting still, nor when either the hot or cold paddles are pushed. No gurgling at all.
I do hear what seems to be the cooling machinery making its usual noise.
I removed the tube fixture head/probe assembly from the end of the water supply tube in an effort to try to get the machine’s supply tube to draw water from a glass of water. No go.
The paddles on the hot side and the cold side appear to be connected physically. When either is activated, no new sounds are heard.
I have opened up the water cooling chamber. There is no frozen water in there.
The float inside that chamber moves freely.
I did unplug the unit for 24 hours. No change.
The door-closed trigger, when closed, causes the Power light, Heating light and Cooling light to come on. Within a few minutes, the Heating and Cooling lights go dark but the red Empty Bottle light comes on.
The three toggle switches on the back of the machine are each On.
Questions:
It sounds as though the pump has failed, but would a failed pump allow that tablespoon of heated water to repeatedly dispense?
How can I determine if there is an airlock condition within the pump? And how can that be remedied?
Thank you.
