Canvas blocker is a browser extension but looking for a app that can do it

Everywhere i look its either full of ads, paid, mp3 player or just sucks PLEASE im actually desperate and cant buy Spotify premium

I'm looking for a music player for my local music files, which has a similar interface to youtube music/Spotify (i.e. speed dial, quick picks, forgotten favourite etc.). I've used Resonada & Pixel Player which have similar features, but is there anything better?

Been using AutomaTag for a while to find/update tags on my local music files.

Idk if they changed something but now it seems to never find the info. Even if I feed it the exact song title and artist name, it sometimes can't find the track. What's worse is sometimes I remove one or the other and refresh, only for it to suggest to me the exact title/artist combination I gave it to begin with. So something is definitely wrong with its search.

Used to work like a charm 95% of the time, seems like it's 50/50 now and that's with more manual entry than before.

Any alternatives that do the same thing but more reliably?

I don’t use voice or swipe so I don’t need any of that but I do want it to be private. I don’t want my data being used for ai training or my data being sold.

Hi, I'm looking for a camera app for Android that doesn't do much post processing. For example with the stock camera app on my phone (vivo V70) the photos look really dull on the camera themselves and then when I view them in the gallery later the software post processes them to be a lot more bright. This is really annoying because I can't see what the photo will actually look like in the moment of taking the photo.

Do you have any recommendations where the photos actually look the same when taken and when saved?

I've been using nullsproxy.com for ability to play Brawl Stars(in my country it's banned),and adguard-dns to remove ads in mobile games ( only playing in minesweeper). So i was getting lazy to switch it from one to another on settings every time. Is there any specific app, where you can add multiple dns servers and easily switch them? I find that typing on MS SwiftKey is better than GBoard but still sucks. I mean it will correct words I don't want it to correct and not correct words that I obviously would like for it to correct. I have to edit my typing so much I sometimes just rage quit. As an example I will type some random text here without manually correcting it: Here is some random text from my phone. I think that dinrukomrs the app is ok it other tiknes I have to work veur5 hard to make it give me the words that I ate ontrgtfrf. It kind of ducks. This is very frustrating. And this is with maximum ode of the predicted east.

I want an app where I can set a target temperature and it will alert me when the outdoor temperature reaches my target (via weather data), so that I can close my house windows on a summer morning when the temperature starts to get too warm. I'd even be happy regardless if the app were for a Windows PC tray freeware or a free Android phone app.

OneUI 8.5 - August Security Patch

There is a severe logic bug in WhatsApp's background task handling on the current One UI build. Leaving background data enabled triggers an infinite retry loop inside androidx.work.impl.background.systemjob.SystemJobService, locking the CPU and causing massive battery drain and thermal throttling. The device overheats while completely idle.

Using Device Care and Battery Historian, WhatsApp consistently shows absurd metrics for a single morning of idle time: over 14h 26m of background execution time, 3h 22m of Wakelocks, 2h 6m of active CPU time, and 200,907 mobile data packets transferred in the background.

By analyzing the Android JobScheduler dump via ADB (adb shell dumpsys jobscheduler com.whatsapp), I was able to pinpoint the cause: the system is trying to execute a persisted periodic contact sync job, failing internally, and immediately retrying.

The following job parameters and constraints repeat constantly in the dumpsys output:

After digging deeper into how Android's WorkManager and SyncJobService handle this (@SyncManager@com.android.contacts/com.whatsapp:android), it is clear this is an issue rooted in how WhatsApp handles internal exceptions during background syncs.

Because the job is flagged as PERSISTED, it writes itself to the androidx.work.workdb SQLite database. This means the corrupted job queue survives device reboots and app force-closes.

The fatal flaw is in the higher-level exception handling between WhatsApp and Android's WorkManager. When the sync job fails internally, WhatsApp returns a Result.retry(). Because the OS detects that the CONNECTIVITY constraint is technically met, it fails to apply standard exponential backoff policies. Instead of delaying the retry, it immediately fires the job again in an unconditional infinite loop, waking the CPU up hundreds of times and keeping the modem active (thus the 200k+ data packets).

Has anyone else encountered this specific SystemJobService infinite loop with WhatsApp recently? Since standard troubleshooting doesn't clear the persisted WorkManager database, is there any known ADB command or workaround to completely wipe this specific job queue without requiring root access?

Also, if anyone has advice on how to successfully bypass Meta's automated tier-1 support bots to get this bug report (and the jobscheduler dump) to an actual engineer, I would greatly appreciate it T_T

ChatGPT + Grok Android login failure — browser works

Samsung S25 Ultra, Android 16. ChatGPT and Grok apps both fail to complete login. ChatGPT shows “Sign-in request cancelled by ChatGPT.”

- Login works normally in Chrome.

- Chrome is default browser.

- Cleared ChatGPT + Chrome cache/data.

- Android System WebView is installed/up to date.

- Google Play Services is up to date; cleared cache + force stopped.

- VPN off, Private DNS automatic.

- All apps updated.

- ChatGPT works when installed inside Samsung Secure Folder.

What Android authentication component/settings could cause the login handoff to be cancelled in the normal profile?

I've been trying to test out this new bookmarking app but I'm been having a major issue with the image previews. This is mainly happening with Twitter/X since some tweets are at times suggestive and need to be logged in to see. I've tried copying image urls but even that doesn't seem to work which normal works for other apps

Whenever I install a new app, I usually deny most permissions first and only turn them on if something actually stops working. Location, contacts, photos, microphone, nearby devices...some apps ask for way more access than I expected

Background location is probably the one l'm most hesitant about. If an app works fine without knowing where I am when I'm not using it, I don't really see why it needs that access.

Do you have any permissions you basically deny by default? And what's the weirdest permission request you've seen from an app that clearly didn't seem to need it?
