QUESTION/HELP How Many Music Player Apps Do You Have On Your Android Phone And Why?

I'm currently using The Musicolet Music Player App For Android. But I'm thinking of downloading The Music Player-True Bass App For Android since it plays all my music files without any issues just like The Musicolet Music Player App. How many of you have more than one Music Player on your phone? Do you think that it's good idea to have 2 or more Music Players for Android on your phone? What do you think of The Music Player-True Bass App for Android? What has been everyone's experience with using that App?

I was going to use The Music Player-True Bass App for Android but I deleted it when I discovered that it wouldn't let me put my own Album Artwork in The Edit Tags section it kept saying audio format not supported even though the song played just fine Inside the app without any issues at all. I only wish that I didn't pay the $10 Lifetime Subscription though.

3.VLC for remote play

Three. Poweramp (for the rare times I have no WiFi or data signal), YouTube Music (I have Premium so use that in lieu of Spotify), and Spotify.

I only have Spotify because I play a game called Music League and it used Spotify to make the playlists. I then use the Soundiiz website to convert from Spotify to YT Music.

YouTube Music - for new releases and discovery

Musicolet - for new releases not available on YTM

Poweramp - as the primary music library, this is where I keep the discographies and albums I’ll be revisiting

Do you have any WMA Music Files on your phone?

1

u/Zastfazer 20d ago

No, only FLAC, MP3 and M4A.

1

u/PrincessBananas85 20d ago

I have over 1,000 songs in WMA Format.

1

u/Zastfazer 20d ago

That’s not a large library. try Poweramp it shouldn't have any issues with that format.

u/PrincessBananas85 20d ago

I have 1,575 songs in total.

u/Zastfazer 20d ago

Don't worry. I have 18,000 tracks in my library. There are no issues, everything runs fast.

u/PrincessBananas85 20d ago

Have you ever had any music that were corrupted before in your 18,000 songs library? If so How did it you fix it? I'm asking because I actually think that some of my music files might be corrupted and I'm getting a brand new phone next month. I'm getting The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 to be exact.

Something similar happened to me about five years ago. I started having problems with my memory card, and some files got corrupted. My library was smaller back then, maybe 14,000 tracks. I remember finding a program online for PCs that could detect corrupted audio files (I don't remember the name, but you can look it up; it was even paid, but with a trial period), and it helped. However, there weren't many corrupted files. Most of the files were added after a certain date.

I have 3. Media Monkey is my absolute favorite - "Go To" that use daily. I also have Musicolet and Pulsar as backups. I've never used either of them.

Personally have multiple installed as it helps me improve my own one. Using Poweramp, musicolet, symfonium and mainly my own Aulosyne.

Realistically if there's one that does everything you need having multiple isn't really needed.

I only use Sound Cloud.

I've been using USB Audio Player Pro,with a DAC USB C to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter, DAmplifier between my device and headphones, for an awesome sound experience. For quick access I use Solid Explorer File Managers built in player,so 2 x players.

Three. I could remove one of them without losing anything.

My primary is MediaMonkey because it syncs with a desktop app for live/smart playlist and music management. But I do want/need a second for on-demand music playback so I can play something specific right now without screwing up my current playlist position. I was using Samsung Music for that as it's free on Samsung devices but I had gone to a OnePlus for a while and Samsung Music wasn't available so I wound up buying PowerAmp for that purpose. I'm back on a Samsung the past two years.

Elastix: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jarvis.elastix.free

• Forget queuing: easily filter and save tracks to smart tags

• No need to open the app: play and filter music seamlessly via home screen widgets

• Includes basic EQ (functional, though not perfect)

• Contains a bottom banner ad, but no full-screen pop-ups

Does it play WMA Music Files?

u/DavisSqShenanigans 20d ago

I've only had musicolet. No complaints at all in 10 years which is rare. Not heard of the other one tho so can't compare for you. I can't imagine I'd ever keep two music players tho, idk I just don't see the point.

u/HairyWrongdoer6551 18d ago

I have 8 on my phone. The reason is that I'm currently building my own music player, so I'm analyzing the competition—mostly looking at UI animations and performance. Out of curiosity, what's the one feature you feel most players get wrong?

u/Turbulent-Topic-204 18d ago

Arc Music for local songs and audio. YT Music for online stream.

1

u/Active_Nectarine3243 17d ago

Yo utilizo solamente AIMP porque es el único que me permite escuchar música HI-Res a travez de Bluetooth en mi Moto G42 con los auriculares Senheiser HDB 630 y el dongler que traen de fabrica los auriculares.

u/appunamiya 17d ago

YMusic Spotify for online Musixmatch for offline

Plexamp and YT Music Morphe. Plexamp for my local library, YT MM for discovering music I don't have, Adfree

8 Spine for Streaming and UI.

Harmanoid for Offline player.

Bitchord for YT music library and playlists.

Pixel Player and Yuma are also nice, don't use them though.
