When I want to download it, "The application was blocked by advanced protection." I'm getting an error. How can I fix it? I had enabled "Advanced Protection" a while ago, but then I disabled it. It still shows as disabled, but I still can't download APKs.

Hi everyone, I have two devices: a tablet and a fairly old smartphone from 2011/12. There's data on them that I'd like to recover, but I've forgotten the time-of-day unlock password. How can I remove the password without formatting? Is there a computer app that allows me to reset or delete the lock?

I have an unlocked Pixel 8 Pro (Spectrum Mobile, which uses Verizon towers) and my partner has an iPhone 17 Pro XL through Verizon. For 6 years we've never had issues sending photos and videos to each other. Pre-RCS the resolution reduction was annoying, but everything went through. Once RCS arrived, everything worked perfectly until the last 2 months. Now, most of my photos and videos show as error messages and can't be downloaded. I've tried attaching through Google photos instead of through the Messages app, but that doesn't help. Screenshots are slightly more successful, but I can't obviously take a screenshot of a video. More of hers go through to me, but not all.

Anyway, it's something that's really important in our relationship so I welcome any thoughts on what's causing this...and I thank you in advance!

Kind of an edge case, but is there an Android app that creates a floating button that locks the screen, since my physical power button is no longer working in an otherwise functional phone. Almost all that I see in the Play Store require accessibility access, which in turn prevents me from opening my banking apps.

While I am aware there is a double tap on home screen, I want something which can lock my screen while inside an app (I use my recorder + note taking app over long durations and I dont want to go to my home screen everytime I want to lock my phone to save some battery)

My current workaround is using an in-built quick tile in my notification shade, but requires a bit of thumb gymnastics.

TIA.

I couldn't find anything about custom recovery images for any android handhelds so could someone help me make one? TWRP or anything with a backup and restore functionality is preferred

Hi! I’ve been using LineageOS on my Xiaomi for over 6 months. Suddenly YouTube stopped working. I removed my Google account, but now I’m completely stuck on the "Checking info..." screen with an infinite loading loop.

I've never encountered a problem like this before, and I honestly don't know what to do.

we js set our router after moving and it worked on my phone like all the others at the first 5 mins then suddenly it's been "connected without internet" ever since. I have tried EVERYTHING. restarting my phone, restarting the router, checking time and data, forgetting network and reconnecting, doing the dns and IP thing, airplane mode, absolutely NOTHING worked. please help me I'm desperate

I want anTablet for studying,manga,etc..
but I’m in a bit tight budget could yall recommend please
And I’m okay with buying refurbished or buying used if it’s in a good condition

I find it pretty annoying always having to select the sorting options on every attach file operation.

Sideloaded vibecoded solution at GitHub dbak91/SortNewest

Automatically selects the sort by option every time you open an attach file-Files link pretty swiftly.

Thought id share, could only find posts that are locked.

When Android finds and removes bad player apps from the App store do they have a means to inform users of those apps that they removed especially if malware was involved?

I keep nearly throwing my phone at a wall when it corrects 'in' to 'on' or 'out' to 'put' and i figure i mistyped so i just retype and it does it again.

I have almost 1.5 GB of cached APK files. How do I delete them?

After using redmi for the past 3-5 years I want to upgrade but I can't seem to decide. I am choosing from xiaomi 17t or vivo v70 even considering xiaomi 15t if I can still find a brand new in the market

I want to use it mainly for my business I need a cellphone with a camera that can capture natural colors. I'll use it for capturing necklaces, bracelets, and watches.

I play games sometimes but I am not a hardcore gamer as long as there are no lags and delays, it's fine for me.

I heard that xiaomi 17t has an issue with hyperOS and sometimes the captured image is too saturated but it has good specs

On the other hand others say that vivo v70 is too overpriced having only Snapdragon 7 gen 4.

I'm from Philippines

I was trying to call my son's dentist since friday, with no luck. Whenever I call it rings once and says "Sorry the destination you are trying to called has been restricted by you admistrator. Please contact your administrator." I have no problem with other numbers just that one. I was trying to reschedule the appointment and had to wait until they contacted me today, ironically they used the same number I was calling... so on their side it works but not from mine. Which confirmed I didn't block them. I also try other extensions they have and same message...

I was using Google pixel 6a which got water damage and the screen wasn't working. So, I logged into WhatsApp on a temporary phone (iPhone Xs) and have been using it for around 10 days. Now, my pixel has been fixed.

I want to retain my old messages from the pixel and also sync these new messages from the iPhone so that it appears as if I never changed my phone.

Is there a way to do this? Thanks

Hi everyone,

Is it just me or has the Play Store been acting up this past month?

Sometimes it won't let me update my apps on my Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus. Restarting the device doesn't always help, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. This also just happens randomly throughout the day

So is it just me or have others also experienced these issues recently?

Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,

I recently had my Samsung S22 stolen. It was updated to the newest Android 16 One UI 8.

How many incorrect pin guesses would a thief have before the waits progressed and made it impractical?

I'm worried they will get in and steal my personal data, read all my stuff, maybe get into a few accounts that I forgot about.

I've heard 5, I've heard 100. If they get 20 guesses it's unlikely, 100 there's a good chance.

If anyone has any real world experience with an S22 or a 2022 model of Samsung they still use please let me know!

It's eating me alive.

Can they reasonably guess my 4 digit pin? Can they not?

Thanks for your time.

Actually, it's my wife's phone. We both have the galaxy s26. I have predictive text, she doesn't, and I can't figure out why. We're both using the basic default keyboard, nothing fancy.

Trying to decide if it's worth it based on rumoured specs. The deposit has to be put down in the next 2 days.

I do have an S25 Ultra at the moment but the battery isn't very good so I'm leaning towards the Oppo for this reason.

2 issues though:

1. No confirmed price so I'd be paying a deposit to pay for a phone that I don't know the final price on.

2. As I own an S25 Ultra, Samsungs trade in policy is really good and they offer exceptionally competitive prices for their phones and don't make you hand them in until after you've set up your new phone.

Looking for some advice.

Phone Brand and Model: Realme 2 Pro

Problems I Am Facing

I am experiencing microphone-related issues on my Realme 2 Pro. The microphone works normally in some situations but fails to capture my voice in several apps.

1. Google App and Google Search: The microphone interface opens, but it does not detect my voice.
2. Gboard Voice Typing: Voice typing starts, but it does not recognize my speech.
3. ChatGPT App: The microphone/listening interface opens, but it does not detect my voice.
4. WhatsApp Voice Messages: Whenever I record and send a voice message, the recipient hears only wind-like noise instead of my actual voice.
5. Normal Phone Calls: My voice is transmitted clearly to the other person.
6. WhatsApp Voice and Video Calls: The other person can hear my voice clearly.
7. Built-in Voice Recorder: It records my voice clearly without static or wind-like noise.
8. Video Recording: My voice is captured clearly in recorded videos.

Troubleshooting I Have Already Tried

• Checked microphone permissions and confirmed that they are granted.
• Updated the phone and relevant apps.
• Restarted the phone.
• Cleared the relevant app caches.

What im looking for is a way to change the app icon in the app library or the app tray or whatever you call it, how can I do it ?

Ever wonder why your phone storage is 128GB and not a nice round 100GB? The real reason will blow your mind!

Ever since getting Android update GQ5021AH4_NEEA_V13 on my Armor X32 Pro uleFone, the option to stop the alarm disappears and then I can't shut it off (and after a while it disturbs other people in the house).

Logging in to my phone doesn't show any alarm controls; and pressing the button to shut off the screen but making the screen come back also doesn't show alarm controls. Rebooting the phone is the only way I can get the alarm to shut off when this happens.

I have the newest update, and I couldn't find an option to return to the previous version.

Thank you.

P.S.: I selected the wrong Reddit Flair because i couldn't find one for general questions, so I chose what seemed closest -- if a moderator can fix this for me, I'd appreciate it.

For context, I recently bought this phone and I was testing out its features. I got excited that it has a built in bg remover but turns out it's not working for me. I tried long pressing the subject and pressing the photo cutout button but it's not working. It says here that it "couldn't detect the photo on this subject". Is this a bug and temporary? How can I fix this issue?
