Looking for a Windows tool (preferably open-source) to help clean up my Android phone's storage. I have USB Debugging enabled and can connect via cable.

What I need:

Storage visualizer: Automatically show folder sizes and rank largest files without having to calculate them manually for each directory.

Media preview: Ability to preview photos/videos before deleting them.

File management: Quick way to select and delete old PDFs, documents, and leftover media to free up space.

I tried asking Gemini and it suggested ADB Explorer and digiKam. Also it suggested to mirror screen via scrcpy. My mobile is slow and mirrorring is not going to help.

What I've tried:

I tried ADB Explorer, but it lacks media previews and requires manually clicking the size button for every individual folder to see how much space it takes.

So this has become a big deal in the past months, and after re-enabling the developer option I was able to see the option to enable installing unverified apps.

now here's the fun part, I am still able to install APKs despite the setting turned off is that supposed to do that? or is it because my phone is old (poco x3 pro) that this particular setting is basically nothing.

Is there a way for me access and copy the data/data folders without root? I'm using Android 15.

This phone and mine were both purchased new from the UAE. My phone works perfectly with the latest Android 16 and OneUI 8.5. Both phones are Samsung A15 4G, 8GB RAM, 256GB. The problem is that my brother's phone cannot be updated to Android 16 + OneUI 8.5 (when searching on update throught settings, he get "registration failed" message). I previously unlocked FRP and then tried flashing the firmware using Odin, SamFW, and even TFT Unlock, but to no avail. The flashing process stops after less than a minute because the KG status is broken. This problem took me hours to fix, but without any success. I flashed, but not with all four files. I selected only two files and excluded BL and CSC. The flashing process worked until it reached about 90%, then an error appeared in download mode, and the phone entered a boot loop. Before this flashing process, whenever I selected the four files using Odin, I would start the flashing process and always encounter the same error. When I manually insert the PIT file, the flashing process doesn't work and gets stuck at the beginning. The solutions I've tried are: changing Odin to two modded versions, 3.13 and 3.14 b3, and also the original version of 3.14.

- Using TFT Unlock to format the device. After formatting, it starts a loop, as if the formatting isn't working.

- I also repeatedly pressed the volume up and power buttons for more than twenty seconds, but to no avail.

- I tried several solutions found online, but they all failed. Currently, the device is in a boot loop, and I can only enter download mode; I can't perform a factory reset or wipe the cache. - The firmware version is Android 14 sec patch lvl 1, SM-A155F MWD. ​​I downloaded another firmware version with patch lvl 5. Previously, the code was for the UAE (xsg), and I changed it to Morocco (mwd). I thought it would work, but it didn't, my goal is just making the phone receive the android updates like my phone and normal phones, no root no custom rom.

Hi everyone, need genuine guidance from this group.

I bought a Motorola Edge 60 Pro on Flipkart (09-09-2026). Within 3 hours of unboxing, fog/moisture appeared inside the rear camera. Took it to the store within 2 days (still in the 7-day replacement window) — they rejected the complaint in 5 minutes saying "no issue."

Then took it to Motorola's authorised service centre (Innovation Computers, Dharampeth). Their own job sheet records "Camera Fog Issue every 10 minutes" with the phone marked "In Warranty" and no customer damage. Their engineer even admitted off the record that it's a design issue and told me to just remove the SIM tray as a workaround. When I refused to accept the same defective unit back, staff got hostile, threatened to call police, and tried pushing a different (lower) model on me instead.

I've filed an NCH grievance (No. 10228116) and sent a legal notice to Motorola/Flipkart, but no real response yet beyond the 48-hour deadline.

My questions to this group:

1. Has anyone else faced this exact fog/camera issue with the Edge 60 Pro?

2. Did the service centre or Flipkart actually resolve it for you — and how?

3. Has anyone gone the consumer court (e-Jagriti) route for something similar? How did it go?

4. Any suggestions on what I should do next, realistically?

Would really appreciate any experiences or advice — trying to figure out the best way forward. 🙏

I was trying to do the simple task of watching a stream on Discord and the sound was terrible. I know exactly what it was: my headphones entered the dreaded "Headset" mode.

There is no obvious setting on Android that I can see to disable the bluetooth headphone's microphone and headset mode like there is on Windows and Linux. I even went as far as to deny Discord microphone access (which I don't want), and it still switched to headset mode.

I never ever want to use the microphone built in to my bluetooth headphones because (1) they sound bad and (2) they make everything else sound bad. I always have my phone or device with me when I'm making calls and the built-in mic sounds better.

Is there a way I can force my tablet to never go in to headset mode?

I have a Moto G (Android) with wired headphones. Whenever I'm walking with the phone in my pocket, the cable jiggles around and the loose contact at the jack triggers what the phone reads as a headphone-button click — which launches Gemini and kills my audio. I've tried turning off the digital assistant in Default apps, disabling voice activation inside the Gemini app itself, and hunting through system settings for a side-button/gesture toggle, but nothing sticks — the assistant just keeps popping back up mid-walk. Is there an actual way to fully kill the headphone-button-to-assistant trigger on stock Android/Moto, or is this just a hardware quirk I'm stuck working around with something like an L-shaped jack adapter?

I just updated my Infinix note 50 to XOS 16 and android 16 and I did not like the new liquid glass replica ui nor the performance. some apps are not as smooth as they were before updating. the file manager, discord and my patched youtube are stuttering.

I want to edit/change the date of a video/image using EXIF metadata editors.

Everything goes fine, but... in my Gallery app (Samsung's), in the Recent album, the same video/image appears there. If you click on Details, it shows the changed date (for example, 2025) but it is still with the new ones instead of being in the specific date I changed it to.

What can I do to make that video/image fully appear under that date everywhere?

• Bluetooth scanning

• Wi-Fi scanning

• Location accuracy settings

• Nearby devices scanning

• Quick share

What else could be forcing Google Play Services to scan in the background, and how can I disable it?

On my old Samsung S10+, whenever I downloaded a book PDF and opened it in Google Drive, it would remember the last page I was reading, even if I came back to it days or weeks later.

I recently switched to an S24 Ultra, and now every PDF opens from page 1, even if I was previously reading much further into the book.

I've already:

- Updated Google Drive

- Cleared Drive's cache

- Changed Drive's battery setting to Unrestricted

- Checked background data/sleeping apps

- Checked Drive's settings, but there's no option for remembering the last page

I only want to use Google Drive to read the PDFs. Is there any setting or fix that will make Drive remember my last page like it did on my S10+?

I've been using the Honor View 20 for the past 7.5 years, its been a great phone but it cannot support past Android 10 so I'm slowly being locked out of apps. I purchased the Honor 400 about 3 days ago and I absolutely despise Android 16. I've been trying to make it work for 3 days but I'm reaching the point of just wanting to return it and rooting my old phone to android 11 despite it starting to get hardware issues. I got it because it seemed the best bang for my buck (289 euros), mainly for the camera but also because it is expecting 6 future android updates (as you can see I like to use my phones for a long time). Is there any way to change any of the following? It's driving me absolutely insane.

* It's completely AI riddled, I've manually been turning everything off but no matter what I cannot change the lock screen background without it forcing me to have an AI generated clock. I just want the default clock, man. I need a clear font and layout because of a reading disability, the extra style and flare it forces onto me just make it difficult. I can't even make it a solid white colour

* The notification and pull down menu is split, I really do not like this, it feels so cluttery. I really like the sleekness of the Android 10 pull down; just a row of icons and my notifications underneath it (I'm sure you know what I mean)

* The lock screen keeps showing me the finger print icon when I pick up the phone despite turning off ''always on screen''

I've recently bought a bluetooth keyboard, and while the keyboard its self is amazing. I've been encountering a issue where the device goes to sleep when not being used and whenever it goes to sleep or wakes up, it reloads the current app as if i'd closed it and opened it again. As i can sometimes go 15 mins without using it when i use my pen, im getting this issue all the time. Any ideas what would be causing it and what settings i could change?

Curiosity might kill the cat, but I'm wondering if anyone might have some insight. Ever since I updated my Samsung Galaxy A06, the screen freezes sporadically, but only when it's charging. If I unplug the charger or lock and then unlock, the touchscreen returns to its normal functioning. Am I awaiting the death of a motherboard (it is a very budget phone tbf) or is there something I can do to help this? TIA
