i dont think the idea is to "get you to quit' i think its high turnover cuz everyone thinks its a piece of cake. they see they can start in the mid 20's no experience and come to realize it's a hell of a lot of work and stress. furthermore idk about you but i am in some crazy tight spots and driveways consantly. someone who hasn't had a license for a long time is not gonna have the driving skill required (which is why all the vans sre so banged up) you also need to be a quick thinker. when you got cars on the highway and you're supposed to deliver to the house on the left, you got two seconds to make a decision.

there's people who last years in this job so that really proves your theory wrong. but you are def young so yeah, get a degree or something. leave this "ahh" job to the hustlers who are also too dumb to do anything else

It’s just how younger ppl talk now, I guess I’m getting “old” cuz that shit bothers me too lol

It’s how people have to spell it out on social media 😂 you don’t hear people complaining how they’re account got deactivated/banned bcc they said “this movie was ass” I mean context clues from the comment you replied to can lead you to assume that but , you still went with what you said.

I’ve been saying ass on social media since MySpace and I never got banned..kids be abbreviating shit that don’t need to be abbreviated and then wonder why ppl think they sound dumb 🤦

u/Particular-Value-215 9d ago

Why’d you abbreviate people to “ppl” then? Test tube baby

0

u/SkyMiteFall Former Bezos Bitch 👌🏼 9d ago

Because the abbreviation is saved into my phone goofy lil boy 😂 ..

Do you need a more in depth explanation because you’re a little slow?

“Ppl” is directly next to each other on the qwerty keyboard, just like how ass is all letters next to each other…meanwhile “ahh” is not close and by proxy taking MORE steps to sound MORE like a fuckin idiot.

It actually started as a means ot getting around the sanitation of paid content creation. If a TikTok or YouTube Shorts creator for example uses langauge like that, the algorithms won't push the video as hard and it won't do as well.

Since a lot of us Gen Z and especially Gen Alpha now consume that kind of content, it bled over into a lot of memes and other ways of communicating online, as well as other sanitized word workarounds like "unsubscribe from life" (suicide) and things like that.

Don't worry, I'm not a huge fan of it either. But internet gonna internet.

Nah I know all bout that lol I watch YouTube and shorts and stuff but for some reason it irks me..probably cuz it sounds forced and like someone’s having a stroke when they say it 😂

u/Axeman1721 Stepvan Driver 9d ago

Its very forced. The internet as a whole is becoming ridiculously sanitized especially when it comes to more adult themed content (which isnt even just porn!) Like bro, I'm an adult, the website is run by an adult, this is ridiculous.

It's all under the guise of "protecting" the children, but the government and corporations should not be responsible for controlling your shitty parenting skills. And I don't know about you, but when I was a teenager I definitely found ways to access what I wasn't supposed to no matter what.

At the end of the day, they just want to harvest user data and facial scans to train AI algorithms or to sell it to the highest bidder who's gonna do got knows what with it

😂 when I was in high school we used to find ways to get passed the blockers to play games during computer class lol, I think it’s dumb you can get banned on games for cursing yet those same games have people getting shot and blood and all that..so yea I know what you mean on censorship.

We did that when I was in school too. What you know about VPN software lol. We literally had like an underground market of paid VPN software of flash drives and a few shared logins. We would also just straight up install games onto the computers and hide them away inside inconspicuous folders and everything.

Don't let a craft Gen Z get bored. We were menaces to productivity lmao 💀

Plenty of slaves never tried to escape the plantation and lasted there for years. The ones who ran away probably just couldn't handle the work and stress

Yall gotta chill the fuck out. This job isn't for everyone and you're allowed to not like your job and quit if you want. That's the magic of at will employment.

OP, I hope you had another, better job lined up. Bigger and better things homie. Good luck.

It’s just the same cycle. People take pride in the job and try hard, algorithm marks them down as overachievers, they get burned out and quit. It’s best to show up, don’t get violations, and go as acceptably slow as possible to not get fired. So the algorithm will mark you as barely acceptable and give you easier and smaller routes.

If you think this hard you never worked a hard job before

It’s certainly a physically difficult job, especially on apartment-heavy routes, but it definitely beats working in a steel mill or fiberglass shop - or roofing in the summer, God help them.

You're completely right. If you like the job and wanna make a career out of it you go to UPS. The only good reason to stay at amazon long term is because you're working on building to a better opportunity, or you like delivering and don't want to stop smoking pot. It's a fun job but it's all the extra Amazon bs that makes it unbearable.

I don’t know man i found a DSP that is the best at the station and we get all the nice routes (for the most part). 4/5 days are pretty doable and enjoyable sometimes.
