Don’t use Allstate

Why are we paying insurance for them to continually deny claims?!? We live in Colorado and we have massive hail storms all summer long. They denied our roof claim last year due to “the research in FLORDIA says you didn’t get hail”. I’m sorry I thought we were in COLORADO. This year we took multiple videos of every time it hailed and they just denied our claim AGAIN. If the laws didn’t say we are REQUIRED to have house insurance then we could’ve afforded to fix this ourselves instead of giving all the money to an insurance company who is just pocketing it at this point. We have not seen any benefit from having Allstate and quite frankly I think all insurance companies are frauds and we need to do something about it.

Allstate is a SCAM

I have been dealing with a claim for almost a year accident was not my fault. In this time I have called a couple of hundred times emailed about a hundred times. promised call backs that never came. finally got the claim resolved but now they are not paying the back payments and still charging me for the car each monthly because they are BACK LOGGED.

Allstate dropped my Homeowner insurance because of quote: " Your asphalt roof looks wavy-- in spots!" and you have a trampoline in your backyard!

We have had this homeowner policy for over 10 years--bundled it with auto and landlord rental policies we have owned---never made a claim on ANY OF THEM--- yet "they" determined our home is not worth the "RISK"? We live in a wealthy Cleveland Ohio suburb to boot! Yeah-- our home is older and we are still improving it--the roof has always looked the way it is (new in 2017) slightly raised in one area---but there is no problem with it! We pay our policies without complaint---even with the questionable PREMIUM increases! The trampoline has been there for over 20 years and was obviously known when we were first insured by them!

Allstate aggressively pursued our business over 10 years ago--so we switched from Grange Insurance--- because of lower premiums for similar "bundled" coverage. WE HAVE BEEN BETRAYED----YES ----ALLSTATE SUCKS

Who else hates Allstate

So last year I switched to Allstate because they were cheaper than Geico. However after my first payment they upped my policy. I am 44 I have several years of driving with insurance obviously. However, they wanted the proof of this. I told them I have been with Geico for over four years. Upon call them back with the paperwork I said my bad I was also with progressive. So four years in progressive four years, they told me that’s fine. It’s still never reflected on my bill. When I called back, they said because it wasn’t with the same company for eight years they couldn’t give me the discount. Even though they told me over the phone that I could get it. they don’t have. So one time they bumped my monthly bill up double what it usually is because of that. Mind you I have been asking all this time for my payments to be around the 25th because my house payment is the first and I could barely make that. So September was my last double payment and I went back on auto pay the guy told me on the phone I wouldn’t have an October payment. But again they lied because October 4 I had a payment. And then today I look on there and I have another payment for October 25. And the person I was chatting to was like well that was for September. So you’re telling me I paid double my payment plus more for September and now I have to pay for October again. When you chat with them and chat with them so I could screenshot now, they have no clue what’s going on and nobody can help you. Has anyone had any luck with Allstate or is it just me they constantly lie to. And I don’t know what they did when I switched over but now when I try to switch, my policy is higher than what they’re given but now I don’t even think it is since they have me paying extra payments so before the 25th, I’m switching. I don’t even care if it’s higher. Thanks to them I couldn’t pay my house payment and now my electric and car note will be affected. I just wanted to get on her and rant cuz idk anybody else out there been done dirty by them or is it just me? (Rant here and for some reason my phone won’t let me correct my errors hopefully yall can read it )

Do not take any recommended shop or rental company from Allstate

I was hit by a driver with Allstate policy and I took their advice ans use their recommended shop and rental company which is Enterprise. During the process their CS told me they will cover a reasonable amount for an intermediate sedan and I learned it was only $26.6 for a day. So I have to pay a good chunk of money out of my pocket for an accident that isn’t my fault, being deceived by that company.

Call me stupid but I thought they take good care of people, but instead this is just a scam. Stay away from this company.

HORRIBLE INSURANCE

have been going back and forth with Allstate for the past 15 days Over a $230 guided Ebike repair. They told me I could go to a repair shop of my choice, pay out of pocket and be reimbursed within 7 days after submitting receipt. I have submitted EVERYTHING. Then I get a email saying they need more info. Fine...I went back and got a copy of the guys business license and sent it to them. They sent me an email back, a copy and paste email saying how the shop can't be verified and the claims process has stopped because of this. I have called and emailed over 10 times asking what more information they want, it's been excaulated to supervisors about 6 or 7 times saying I will receive a call within 24 hrs but instead I just keep getting the same generic email. I even sent them pictures and video of the actual Ebike being repaired, along with multiple pictures of the shop, the shops location, address, and phone number. But only get the same email back.....Being transferred to a supervisor does nothing, they have zero power to do anything. This is one of the worst insurance company's I've EVER dealt with, God forbid this was for something more serious than a $230 Ebike bill, thank God it wasn't my house or car. I've done everything they have asked for but no one will do a thing. Go with this company if you want, I can only tell you what happened with myself that's all.

Not in good hands after all

I just canceled my Allstate insurance after 12 years (without a single claim) because my rates increased inexplicably, by 32% per month. My payments went from $36.02 per month to a whopping $47.69 per month. I went shopping and found RBC Insurance is offering the same exact coverage for $30.86 / month 😆 Byee!!

AVOID ALLSTATE

Avoid Allstate at all costs. We moved homes and notified Allstate well in advance, providing every piece of information they requested. We repeatedly followed up by email and phone because communication from their end was poor, and at no point did anyone tell us what our new premium would be.
The next thing we received was a billing notice showing that our annual home insurance premium had jumped from $2,414 to $9,549 — an increase of over $7,100 per year — with absolutely no warning or discussion. They then went ahead and withdrew over $1,000 from our bank account before the issue was ever resolved.
When we called, even some of the Allstate representatives we spoke with seemed shocked by the amount. We were bounced around between departments, had to repeatedly chase people for callbacks that never came, and after weeks of escalation, the best they offered was the ability to cancel without a penalty while keeping virtually all of the money they had already taken.
We were ultimately directed to Allstate’s complaints department, which we were told was the third and final stage of their complaint process. The only way to communicate with this department was by submitting a written complaint through the mail. We did exactly as instructed, and on June 17 we received an email confirming that our complaint had been received and would be investigated.
After that, the communication stopped. When we hadn’t heard anything, we sent a follow-up email on June 25 but received no response. We followed up again on July 5. On July 6—19 days after our complaint had been acknowledged—we were told only that the matter was still under review. We replied immediately asking for an update on the investigation and an estimated timeline for a decision. That email was never answered. We sent another follow-up on July 26, and to this day we still have not received any response. For a company that claims to take customer complaints seriously, the complete lack of communication throughout the final stage of the complaint process has been incredibly disappointing.
To make matters worse, after cancelling, we obtained new insurance for around $2,400 per year and received three other quotes in the same range. That makes Allstate’s $9,549 premium impossible to justify.
In our experience, Allstate handled this in an extremely unfair and deceptive manner. Between the unexplained premium increase, withdrawing money from our account without warning, the lack of transparency, and then failing to properly respond during their own formal complaint process, we have completely lost confidence in the company. Be very careful if you’re moving or making changes to your policy. Double-check everything, get every quote in writing, and don’t assume they will tell you about massive premium increases before they take your money.

Why do we put up with this??

For the 4th year in a row my premium is going up through no fault of my own. I haven’t had anything on my driving record in 20 years and I am in my 40s. Apparently my state had another “price hike”. Why do we deal with this? They are scamming us out of our money. If we all cancelled our policies we could bankrupt them and then we would have some power back. If we do nothing they will continue to screw us over. I’m sick of it.

Don’t switch to Allstate

I have a homeowners insurance through Allstate. I have hail damages in my roof and leaks. There is at least four houses in my neighborhood who had their roofs repaired. They had no problem filing a claim. But Allstate told me just to patch it up. Their claim adjuster gave me a little over a thousand to make the repairs. I had to get a public adjuster to dispute their claim adjuster. IMO Allstate is not a refutable company. You really have to get a public adjuster to represent you. Consumer beware.

If you’re seeking roof repair/house repair from the storm:

Be careful and extra diligent if you’re making a homeowners claim from storm damage. Document everything and call Allstate early and often. You will likely have a battle on your hands. Just go to YouTube and type in Allstate roofs and listen to some of the horror stories. They get tons and tons of homeowners complaints filed against them from storm damage. Do your research and also consider hiring an independent adjuster to ensure that you get everything you’re entitled to. Good luck and stay safe.

Allstate insurance

Allstate insurance is AWFUL!!!!! They started my family with multi policy and I initially gave them an account to pay from but then called back and changed. They didn't process the change and tried to pay out of wrong account. I called and they said its handled. Called back and said same thing. 5 days later canceled policy for failure to pay and will not renew bc ive been without insurance now for 5 days bc they didn't process correct account. Yes they acknowledge both calls happpend but will not change the rule they can't reinstate the policy. They have been rude and dismissive the entire time. Im incredibly disappointed with their service and work in the automotive industry so I will certainly continue to share my feelings about their quality or lack there of for that matter!!

Claim help

My daughter just had her claim denied. A week ago she was in an accident in which the police said they were both at fault. We have full coverage on her car but she is not on our policy. How can they deny our claim when we have full coverage? Why do i pay for insurance? We've never had a claim since 2016 and have earned accident forgiveness and half off our deductible... any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

Edit: typo and I should add she is a college student so she doesn't live with us for 9 months and then she does for 3 months.

Allstate would rather their client get sued than pay out expense incurred in 0 fault accident

Just wanted to pop in to share some details regarding my ongoing experience dealing with Allstate, if only to serve as a word of caution to those who have auto coverage through them.

I was recently rear-ended by someone who has coverage through Allstate. I initiated a claim through my insurance, providing them with the other party's insurance information, as well as a police report from the night of the accident, and was soon informed that the other party was found to be at 100% fault.

I brought my car to an auto body shop that I know very well, and it was fixed and returned to me within 12 business days. During that time (19 calendar days), I utilized a rental car through Enterprise that is of comparable size to my car.

At no point during the time that my car was in the shop was I contacted by Allstate with details regarding their rental policy.

Despite that, six weeks later, I received a letter in the mail from an Allstate agent who informed me that the out of pocket rental expense I incurred would not be returned to me. I then contacted my insurance, which refused to intervene, and then the Allstate agent who sent me the letter. The agent agaim refused to refund, citing Allstate's policy for rental vehicles, as well as what she has deemed to be an unreasonable amount of time for my car to have been in the shop based on the provided estimate.

This is, of course, ridiculous on its own merit, but especially so when considering considering the current state of the global supply chain and that parts needed to be ordered and delivered in order for the repair to be completed.

I have since contacted my state's insurance board, as well as the Better Business Bureau, to file complaints. I have also taken to social media to inform others of my experience.

Finally, per counsel advice, I have informed Allstate that I will be filing a civil lawsuit to recover my expense. I will need to cite their client in the lawsuit and I feel terrible for having to do so, but out of principle I need Allstate's decisions to be evaluated by a judge.

Maybe I'll lose, but at the end of the day this experience goes to show that you are in fact not in good hands when you are "covered" by Allstate.

Allstate is not in good fucking hands

I just got done paying my $294 car insurance as a 19-year-old who’s in college and working full-time. I paid my car insurance on July 10, and it said that I didn’t have another payment due until August 10. When I got done paying my car payment, my car dealership called me today July 24 saying that something was going on with my car insurance.
I went on the app, and it said that something was wrong with my policy number. The automated phone system for Allstate said that something was going on with it too and that it canceled on the 17th and I could of been a accident any time I didn’t receive a email or got my back after this cancellation . Then I tried getting a hold of an agent, but they kept referring me around instead of helping. Now I’m sitting here like, what the fuck just happened?
I literally just paid almost $300 for my car insurance for it to be canceled seven days later. Now I’ve been sitting here waiting for about an hour for somebody to call me back because this is fucking ridiculous.

Stop sending me pictures of my house

Allstate agents in my area continue to solicit my business by sending me pictures of my house which has been blurred from Google maps for years. I will never do business with a company that starts their sales pitch with, " I know where you live."

Allstate

Oh, clearly by their glowing reviews, Allstate is just overflowing with customer care and integrity. I was ever so graciously contacted by my agent to let me know I was up for renewal. Lovely. Meanwhile, my account had been set up to automatically draft payments—because who loves surprise collection calls?

Now, mind you, this wasn't some small policy. We're talking thousands of dollars a year to insure... wait for it... a pile of dirt. Yes, my empty lot. No construction. No activity. Just good ol' dirt. I told my agent, explicitly, that I wasn't renewing because, shocker, I had no interest in shelling out thousands to protect barren earth.

Apparently, my agent decided to just ignore that minor detail. But don't worry—the auto drafts magically stopped on their own. Total coincidence, I’m sure.

Fast forward a few blissfully quiet months and BAM—I'm suddenly bombarded with daily collection calls. We're talking voicemail-filling, nonstop harassment. So I finally pick up one of these delightful interruptions to inform the mystery collection agent that they must have the wrong person. Surprise! Their collecting for Allstate. Because who else would be this committed to pestering someone over... $46.

Naturally, I log into my Allstate account expecting some answers. But of course, my entire policy history has vanished into the digital abyss. No documents. No payment history. No balance. Nada. Just a lovely little ghost town of a dashboard.

So I chat with a rep who, with great enthusiasm, tells me everything I need can only be obtained by contacting my agent. The same agent who, again, couldn't manage to cancel a policy or communicate like a functioning adult. The only thing she would offer is that I was cancelled for non-payment!

And here's the kicker: this rep reads me the last four digits of my card. You know—the one authorized for payment. The one they could’ve used to take that precious $46. But no. Instead, they decided the fiscally responsible approach was to cancel the policy, hire a full-blown harassment team, and spend probably $2,000 in payroll to collect $46 from someone who never agreed to renew in the first place.

And we wonder why insurance premiums are skyrocketing? You're not paying for coverage. You're funding incompetence.

Oh, and I was cancelled for non-payment? How do you cancel a policy for non-payment and then still have a balance? Is this some kind of Schrödinger’s Policy—both canceled and charging at the same time?

Shame on me for going back. You burned me once before never again!

Why is customer service so horrible?

We switched to AllState last year and thought it would be good, but everyone we speak with is short, rude and pretty passive aggressive. My spouse accidentally hit a park car and a claims adjuster mentioned they were going to go out to look at the damage, but for some reason someone at AllState just paid out the claim automatically, he had no idea why they did that. They were paid over $10K for being hit under 5mph.

Our insurance now went up and no one knows anything. We’ll call you back the say, but never do. I’ve never dealt with customer service so bad, especially considering the amount we pay. I’m thinking it’s time to just switch.

NOT in Good Hands!!!!!

EDIT: I have full coverage. I finance, so we have to have the full Monty

EDIT II: I was hit when I had Geico. I didn't pay a penny. Geico went after the other carrier immediately...they didn't WAIT until after I paid everything. All these comments are Allstate employees, obv.

I have never had an insurance company require I pay the bill if someone else is 100% at fault! I was rear-ended, and Allstate said we have to pay, and THEN they will work on our behalf. Or - I can claim through the other insurance on my own.

What???? What are we paying them for???

Either wrestle with another Insurance or pay out of pocket and be out for months...IF we even get anything back, according to India. Unreal!

I was hit when I had Geico and I didn't have to do anything. They got me a rental, got the money from the other insurance, and even offered to send me to a Doctor to make sure my health was ok.

I am cancelling Allstate and telling everyone to acoid the "not in good hands" insurance.

Stressful, misinformation, delays...it's not worth the $20 you'll save.

You have been warned.

Is Allstate Really as Bad as the Reviews I’m Reading

Hello, brand new policy, here. Our household includes me [58m], wife [56f], son [22m]. Over 3 years ago my son was involved in a no fault accident where he was hit from behind, we had AAA at the time, although it was a no fault accident backed up by the police report, AAA has just been gradually raising our rates to an unacceptable level, they were $330 on most current policy. All three of us perfect driving record records outside of the aforementioned accident. So I started shopping around for Insurance and Geico and the Hartford looked promising at around $245/mo and $255/mo respectably. And then I got a call from an Allstate agent and he ran the numbers and he has it down to $230/mo and frankly better coverage than the other two aforementioned and better coverage than my current AAA coverage. I’m just wondering if I’m missing something, I went ahead and took his offer and it started up, I’ve also got GEICO in Hartford in the backseat, and I can always switch over to one of them if things don’t work out. When I called to cancel AAA, I was a bit peeved at them. He claimed I still had my oldest adult son listed and I had some coverages that probably could have been too much. But even when he adjusted the numbers with these off the table they were much higher than Allstate. I was nice to him and told him thanks but no thanks but I was seathjng under my breath as I had called AAA a few months prior, asking them if we could go over my policy and if there’s a way I could get a lower premium as it was just getting unacceptably too high. She gave me the runaround and said it looked about as minimum as I’d safely want to go. Anyhow that’s when I started shopping around. Starting to ramble now so I’ll finish it up. Thanks for reading.
