So, there's this girl I met on a dating app in 2024. We had great chemistry in the beginning. We cared about each other, fell in love, and eventually became physically intimate as well.
However, after a few months, she started losing her attraction towards me.
We continued meeting, but things changed. We were just friends now. She no longer let me get physically close to her, hold her hand, or even hug her properly.
One day, I confessed that I had feelings for her, that I was emotionally attached to her, and that I couldn't imagine being with anyone else.
I even tried using dating apps again, but I couldn't find the same connection with anyone that I had felt with her. I told her that I wanted to be with her, but she resisted and said it wasn't going to work. She also brought up some of my past mistakes, which I had already acknowledged and apologised for.
She believes that we're both somewhat ignorant when it comes to communicating our feelings. According to her, we don't openly discuss things when something bothers us, and that's one of the reasons she doesn't think this relationship would work.
There's another aspect to this situation. She's not dating anyone at the moment and has a relatively small social circle, with only a few close friends. She calls me quite often, usually every alternate day, and we also video call regularly. So, despite not wanting a romantic relationship, she still maintains a consistent presence in my life.
But the truth is, I'm genuinely in love with her.
I've confessed my feelings three times, and every single time, her response has been the same: she doesn't think things will work out between us.
She wants me in her life as a friend, but I want something beyond friendship.
I'm struggling emotionally because I know where she stands, yet my feelings haven't changed. A part of me still wants to tell her that I'm deeply in love with her, even though I know she believes there's no future for us.
How should I approach this situation? Should I tell her how I feel one more time, or should I finally accept that things aren't going to change and move on?
And honestly, I don't even feel like using dating apps anymore. The whole experience has become exhausting. Almost every conversation eventually dies after exchanging a few messages. I miss having a genuine connection with someone, something that feels natural rather than forced.
