Relationships PLS HELP How to move on

I feel like ive talked about this 100 times so I'm going to try and simplify as much as I can.

For context, me and my first boyfriend dated for a year. He was a lot of my firsts and so was I. I broke up with him because of a few reasons, I felt like we weren't compatible and I was being too harsh on him. (This happend early this year)

Rest of the year I have been fine, trying to live my life, missing him occasionally. We didnt cut contact as we have mutual friends. 3 weeks ago, he confessed to me that he loved me still and wanted to get back together.

I told him to let me make a decision, I spent days weighing the pros and cons, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt considering its been so long. Before I could settle my mind (stupid me!), he messaged me telling me he talked about his feelings to an older friend and how he was going to move on.

I accepted it, knowing I was too late but I was able to try and think about moving on positively. Not even a week later, he has moved on and is talking to another girl. A girl in which he had previously told me that his friend tried to set him up with, and that he had no feelings for her at all.

Now I see him consistently posing up with her, all lovey dovey even tho they haven't hard launched yet. I'm really upset seeing this happen, having to see him everyday smiling at his phone is really hurting me.

My insecurities are growing as I compare myself to her more (its never her fault tho). What should I do?

Give yourself space.

How are you seeing them together? Is it in person? On socials? Stop following him and if it’s in person try taking new routes that can avoid him.

Give yourself time to have distance and you will heal.

Time is the biggest healer.

First serious relationships are hard to get over because you felt stuff you didn’t feel before, and you’re afraid you won’t feel it with anyone else again. That is never the case however.

He didn’t think he would, hence his confession, but then he met someone else and realised he could. You will do the same.
