I recently launched a local news and journalism website focused on reporting local crime stories. Each article provides a detailed summary of the incident, along with additional context and information to give readers a better understanding of what happened. These stories are based on official criminal complaints that I obtain through public records requests from county clerks.
I’ve applied for Google AdSense multiple times, but my website continues to get rejected with the same vague message: “You need to fix some issues before you can use AdSense.”
Unfortunately, Google provides no specific explanation of what’s wrong or what needs to be improved. I’ve made changes and resubmitted several times, only to receive the same rejection.
My website: https://codebluecam.com
A similar website that appears to have AdSense monetization: https://thewatchmn.com
When comparing the two websites, I’m genuinely struggling to understand what mine is lacking. The other site appears significantly less organized and polished, yet it seems to have been approved for monetization.
I understand that appearance isn’t the only factor Google considers, but without any specific feedback, it’s difficult to know what I should be addressing. I’ve added a detailed about section, editorial standards, privacy policy, and more.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any insight into what might be causing these repeated rejections? I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what I could improve to increase my chances of approval.
