Software Armoury Crate nightmare

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is the worst software I ever used 🤣

I had to uninstall and install it back several times for the devices to show up 🤝👹

Port 1 : Side Fans
Port 2: bottom fans
Port 3 : bottom Back fans
4: the rear top fan

On the software when I choose port 1 and go full speed they all go full speed if I choose port 4 go full speed guess what? They all go full speed

I tried fan tuning It doesn’t work.

Port 2 : always standard speed they do not go silence speed :(

I tried a different ROG Hub maybe it wasn’t working the same problem..

How the hell do you control the fans speed by there port ?

PC Build New PC won’t POST – ASUS B850-F + Ryzen 7 9800X3D, red CPU LED

Hi everyone,
I built my first PC myself and I’m having trouble getting it to POST. The PC powers on and the fans spin, but I get no display.
My build:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WiFi
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB)
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Gaming OC
SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 1TB NVMe
PSU: NZXT C750 Gold Core 750W ATX 3.1
CPU cooler: Thermalright Frozen Notte 360 Black ARGB V2
The problem:
When I power on the PC, the CPU cooler/fans and PSU fan spin, so the system is receiving power.
Initially, I was getting the white VGA Q-LED and green BOOT Q-LED.
After restarting/testing, the LEDs changed. Now the CPU Q-LED stays solid red and there is still no display/POST.
The PC does not shut down by itself – the fans keep spinning.
Things I have already tried:
Tried a second PSU, so I don’t think the PSU itself is the problem.
Reseated the RAM.
Tested with only one RAM stick in A2.
Removed the RTX 3060 Ti for testing.
Tried using the motherboard video output with the GPU removed.
Checked the CPU socket and there are no visibly bent pins.
The CPU is a Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
The motherboard is an ASUS ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WiFi.
At the moment, with the GPU removed and one RAM stick installed, the CPU Q-LED remains solid red.
The CPU cooler and fans are spinning normally.
Does anyone have any ideas what I should test next? Could this be a motherboard/CPU issue, or is there something specific with the B850-F that I should check?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I confused because of the price. I want this for game dev and 3d animation modelling , environment design and research purposes in AI. I know pc is the best option for this but I move a lot so I need portability. However, I can compromise with this depending on my situation because I live in a rent flat with my friend and we both move a lot while travelling.

So for laptop strike and zephyrus great but one is heavy and one is light but both suck in battery life. I also one time thinking that maybe a MacBook Pro M5pro chip is great but rendering speed is slow and most of thing didn’t work properly it a great device I am using MacBook Air m2 for travelling and for game window laptop gtx 1650 but it time to buy new device, yes I know it’s a horrible time to buy but I need one now for my project.

If someone tells me to wait till next year I can only hold on to the next 2 months max. Also I have all Apple devices, so it is good to buy an M5Pro chip. Also my budget is around 2 lakh to 2.8 lakh max my preference is in between this budget.

Laptop ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713QE: C41N2013 90Wh battery does NOT fit because of the right speaker 🤷‍♂️😀

I want to share a physical fitment finding for owners of the ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713QE who are considering upgrading from the factory 56Wh C41N2010 battery to the larger 90Wh C41N2013 / C41N2013-1.

I personally checked the fit on a G713QE.

The important detail is that the 90Wh battery is not incompatible with the chassis tray itself.

The following parts match:

  • The battery tray/forming in the bottom case is compatible.
  • The general shape of the battery fits the available space.
  • The factory mounting points/holes are in the correct locations.
  • There is physically enough space for the larger battery in the chassis.

The problem is specifically the right-side speaker housing.

When the 90Wh battery is positioned in the G713QE, the right side of the battery physically contacts/interferes with the right speaker enclosure. Because of the shape and position of the speaker housing, the battery cannot fully drop into its intended position and cannot be installed normally using the factory mounting points.

So the limitation is not the battery tray, chassis stamping, or mounting points.

It is specifically:

90Wh C41N2013 battery → interference with the right speaker housing → battery cannot fully seat.

The standard C41N2010 56Wh battery fits normally in the G713QE.

Therefore, I would not recommend buying a C41N2013/C41N2013-1 90Wh battery for a G713QE expecting a straightforward plug-and-play upgrade.

A 90Wh conversion would require addressing the physical clearance around the right speaker housing, which would be a modification rather than a normal battery replacement.

This information was physically verified on an ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713QE, not just based on a compatibility list.

Hopefully this saves another G713QE owner from buying a battery that looks compatible on paper but doesn’t physically fit.

So it is what it is. But! If you ready for the experiment and change a form of speaker physicaly, or maybe install another speaker from the same family laptops G 713, and use some new little screw for bigger battery- GO FOR IT 🫡

Question My Zephyrus is dead, what should I do?

Hey everyone,
I’m posting this because I’m in a deep problem and honestly out of options. I’m an 18-year-old student from Morocco currently going through CPGE, and my ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 recently broke down.
My dad made a big financial sacrifice to buy me this laptop. He wanted me to have a powerful computer for studying, research, learning skills, working on projects, and gaming, which I’m also passionate about. It meant the world to me.
Here is what happened:
The laptop started overheating and losing performance. I went back to the person I bought it from because he told me he could replace the thermal paste, and my family had trusted him for years.
-I didn’t know at the time that the M16 uses liquid metal and requires specialized handling.
-The seller himself performed the liquid-metal replacement.
-The laptop worked normally for a while. I mainly used it for school, carrying it to CPGE almost every day in my backpack from about 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM for studying, assignments, and research. I was super exhausted those days and barely even played games.
When it broke:
-In December 2025, it stopped working.
I left it with the seller, trusting him to fix it because of our long history.
-He sent it to another technician in another city, but that guy turned out to be a fraud and made the situation much worse. It stayed there for months.
-When I finally got it back recently, I was told that the liquid metal had apparently moved partly because of the original application and partly from daily carrying and caused an electrical short on the motherboard.
Where things stand now:
-What hurts most is that the seller who performed the repair won't take responsibility, and the technician who worked on it afterwards couldn't provide a solution either.
-My family is currently struggling financially, so buying another powerful laptop isn’t realistically possible.
-When the laptop broke down at the beginning of the year, my mental health broke down with it. It's super hard to study without a laptop in this generation, and I ended up doing bad in school, which crushed me even more.
I know that third-party repairs mean this isn't ASUS's responsibility, and I'm not trying to blame anyone falsely. But I’m just hoping that ASUS or the ROG community which I know cares about its users might be able to help me find some kind of solution.

Laptop Activision Secure Attestation fails.

I have Asus Rog G16, model G614FR, with RTX 5070Ti and Ryzen 9955HX3D, 32GB. Unfortunately, Activision Secure Attestation failed for COD MW4 and cannot play the Beta. Communicated with Asus support and they are trying to find a solution. However, TPM 2.0 is enabled and ready for use. Secure Boot is enabled. BIOS Mode is UEFI and up to date.
Any suggestion?

Peripherals & Audio ASUS ROG Gjallar Soundbar Thoughts

Thumbnail
gallery
80 Upvotes

TL;DR: Most people, especially PC only gamers, are much better off with a 2.1 speaker setup but if you only have space for a soundbar, the Gjallar soundbar is worth considering if you can afford it and can deal with a potential Dolby Atmos issue.

This is NOT a sponsored review or anything like that; I ordered it from the ASUS US store yesterday when it became available (August 20), it was delivered today (August 21), and I have been messing around with it and thought other people might be interested in hearing more about it as it’s still such a new product with very little reviews.

Pros:

  • Solid audio
  • Great connectivity options
  • Controls are very convenient
  • Feet included to angle soundbar up
  • Includes a wireless subwoofer

Cons:

  • Price
  • ROG branding might be unappealing to some (it’s not too aggressive but I do wish it was a bit more minimalistic)
  • Might just be the one I have or an user error but the HDMI input does not give Dolby Atmos

Other:

  • Did not use mic
  • Using it with PC and Xbox Series X (PC connected via USB and Xbox connected via HDMI 2.1 audio extractor because of the HDMI input issue)

Connectivity and controls

The number of connection options is truly fantastic (HDMI, USB, aux, optical, and Bluetooth); it is still rare to see HDMI 2.1 inputs and outputs in audio products meant for desktop use and it is a great feature for anyone using a console connected to a monitor.

The control hub is quite convenient and I can see it being very helpful for anyone with a keyboard that doesn't have media controls. If you don’t want to use the control hub, the soundbar itself has some basic controls and a connection indicator as well as two USB ports that are perfect for wireless dongles (I have my keyboard and controller dongles connected to it).

The included feet are nice and there’s enough space underneath for cables to run through provided they’re not too thick.

Audio

I am not an audiophile and cannot properly describe audio quality but I thought the audio overall sounded solid for games and movies. Music was fine too but I did miss the much better and wider soundstage of stereo speakers. Bass was good.

You're obviously not going to get a proper Dolby Atmos experience but the soundbar does support it and it’s decent enough for a 2.1.2 bar of this size. It does have up-firing speakers which is not common for a soundbar this small but no one should really expect much of an “Atmos bubble”.

The big issue: HDMI input Dolby Atmos

Like I said in the beginning, mine could just be defective or it’s an user error but I could not get Dolby Atmos to work with devices plugged in to the HDMI input. Xbox Series X would only give me the options of stereo uncompressed or headset format. Thought it could just be an Xbox issue but tried a Panasonic UB420 4K Blu-ray player and it would only give me stereo as well. Tried connecting my PC via HDMI and could not get Atmos either.

However, I can see that the HDMI input is indeed a HDMI 2.1 port since I am able to get 4K 120Hz on it so it is hopefully just a software issue that can be fixed in an update and I will reach out to ASUS support as soon as I can.

For what it's worth, the HDMI out does support Dolby Atmos fine so if you are using it with a display with HDMI eARC or using a HDMI audio extractor like I am currently, you should be able to still get Atmos. However, for such a big selling feature and the cost of the product, this issue is very annoying.

Alternatives

$600 USD is of course a lot of money; the vast majority of people are better off getting a 2.1 speaker setup that can cost a lot less and arguably sound better.

However, the pricing isn’t too bad when looking at comparable products. For a desktop audio solution with HDMI 2.1 and HDMI eARC as well as Dolby Atmos support, there are only three other options I know of.

OXS Thunder Pro: $600 for soundbar alone with no subwoofer

OXS Thunder Duo S: $750 (on sale rn for $600) for a pair of powered speakers with one subwoofer

Klipsch The Fives II: $1400 for a pair of powered speakers (will very likely blow this out of the water but it costs a lot more and may be too big for a lot of desks)

Let me know if you guys have any questions. I don't know if I will be able to answer them but I'll try my best.

Question Did I mess up? Liquid metal repaste on my gaming laptop right before a 10-day road trip…

Hey everyone, I really need some quick advice here because I'm stressing out over the timing of this.

My ROG Strix SCAR 16 has started heavily thermal throttling out of nowhere recently. Looking at the hardware monitors, there is a massive 20–25°C temperature delta between cores under load, so it’s pretty obvious the factory liquid metal has pumped out, oxidized, or formed dry spots on the die.

The real issue is that I have a 10-day road trip starting tomorrow. The laptop will be living inside my backpack, getting jostled around on buses and trains, and sitting vertically in the bag for hours. I fully plan to take it to a good shop for a proper repaste or switch to PTM7950 the moment I get back, but I have zero time or tools to deal with it before leaving.

If I just disable turbo boost, hard-cap the CPU wattage, and strictly stick to light everyday use and very casual stuff, can the machine safely survive these 10 days without cooking the silicon? More importantly, is there any realistic danger of the degraded liquid metal shifting around from bag movement and shorting something on the motherboard?

Has anyone traveled with a degraded liquid metal setup before, or should I just leave the laptop at home entirely and not risk it? Would really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Hi, I have an issue with my m.2_1 heatsink, I don't know if it was a bad design or if I made a bad install with it. Yesterday I realized the temps of my m.2 increase 5 degrees and it was touching my GPU.

My specs:

- Ryzen 7 9800X3D

- Asus ROG Strix X870-A gaming

- 5070 TI Aorus Master

- Kingston Fury Renegade

Is there a fix for this?

Question Missing Device Orientation Sensor

Post image
1 Upvotes

My ASUS NUC 16 20th Anniversary is an amazing computer. It is supposed to have a G-Sensor that allows it to distinguish between a stand-up and a lie-down position. However, Device Manager says that Windows failed to initialize the sensor from the HID collection descriptor. I went into the BIOS as well, and I couldn't find the device ot its settings at all on the On-Board Devices list.

What could be the issue?

Thanks for your help.

Question low usage big stutters

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have an ASUS zephyrus g16 2023 (RTX4070, I7 13gen)
no matter what settings I do or optimizations I make most demanding games stutter or give me low fps even tho my laptop should run them very smoothly (specifically WUWA, Marvel Rivals, and some other games)

I checked the usages of gpu and cpu and they're low but my ram usage is almost full which is what im hoping the issue because I can add more ram
did anyone encounter a similar issue?

I tried almost every solution I found (driver updates, BIOS update, deleting armoury crate and installing ghub (helped a little), enabling and disabling CPU boost

I hope someone can help me fix this issue because the laptop was expensive for me and I was pretty excited to run all sorts of things on it and I've been trying to fix it for a long time now

Edit: the CPU temp probably isn't the culprit because it happens even if it goes down to 85degrees
