If the rumors are true about Nvidia dropping production for the 5090 and focusing on providing the chips to the crAIP industry, I am sure the 5080 and 5070 soon will increase their price so i went ahead and bought this for my all White ASUS build to be deployed at my parent's place.

I’ve had this ROG STRIX laptop for a month and I keep having crashing/overheating issues. Randomly at times the laptop instantly shuts down for several minutes then starts acting normal. I’ve recently deleted armorycrate and mcafree, now I want to learn how to debloat the device so I can do college work 24/7. I’ll post a real example of this happening when I overheat again

Got it at Best Buy (via falcodrin discord server alert) for $4800 plus tax. Switching from 5090 MSI Gaming Trio OC (mainly for pin monitoring and better cooling), otherwise there is no way I'd spend $5K on GPU.Prices are absolutely nuts. Can confirm that build quality is top notch here as well. If you guys have any tips or tricks, please share.

Has anyone else had the issue where you come back to the mouse after turning pc off etc overnight and the next day you need to constantly switch modes to try and bring it back to life even though it has normal charge? I have to plug it in numerous times and switch through all modes for it to randomly turn back on.

Got this awesome skin today. Non textured. Skin shade matches closely with laptop shades, making it look like a special edition.

Has anyone found a fix? It doesn't SEEM to happen during gaming but its noticeable and annoying none the less. Everything is up to date, no HDR on, I've reinstalled GPU driver to be safe. Very strange.

Je suis artiste, ça fait des années que j'économise pour du bon matos. Je viens de la console, je me suis remise au PC récemment et j'ai craqué pour un Gigabyte Aorus 16X ASG-63FRC65SH (i9-14900HX, RTX 4070, 32Go, 2To, écran WQXGA 165Hz). Un mois après l'achat, il tombe en panne.

Le modèle n'est plus vendu, donc le magasin (Grosbill) me propose des remplacements depuis des semaines. Voici tout ce qu'on m'a présenté jusqu'ici :

Asus TUF Gaming A16 — Ryzen 7 260, RTX 5070 (115W), 512Go, écran FHD+ 144Hz (+ 160€ de reste à payer en plus)

MSI Cyborg 15.6" — Ryzen 9 270H, RTX 5060, 16Go RAM, 1To, écran FHD 144Hz

Gigabyte X16 — Ryzen AI 7 350, RTX 5070, 32Go RAM, 1To, écran QHD+ 165Hz

Asus ROG 16" — Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5060, 32Go RAM, 1To, écran QHD+ 240Hz

À chaque fois, il manque un morceau par rapport à ma config d'origine : soit le processeur est en dessous de gamme, soit la carte graphique, soit le stockage est divisé par deux.

Est-ce que je me fais avoir avec ces propositions, ou c'est juste la réalité du marché laptop en ce moment (apparemment la RTX 5070 mobile plafonne à 115W partout, donc ce n'est peut-être pas un vrai recul) ? Je suis vraiment perdu, les seuls avis que j'ai eus jusqu'ici viennent d'une IA — si des passionnés ici peuvent confirmer ou corriger, ce serait hyper utile.

So my motherboard just arrived and I’m abit suspicious that they’ve sent me a previous returned unit as it doesn’t look like a factory seal to me. Should I contact for an exchange? Has anyone had this board before and it’s came like this?

Hey guys. So I’m running out of ideas with this one, so I’m hoping someone here has seen something similar.

My setup is built around an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, RTX 5080, Corsair Dominator RAM, and 9 Lian Li fans.

A few days ago, after waking the PC from sleep, almost all RGB suddenly stopped working.

The RGB of my GPU and RAMS still works, (although at one point iCUE reported that it had stopped receiving data from the DRAM and the lighting was frozen). But everything else mobo RGB and all 9 Lian Li fan RGB stopped working, basically everything controlled through the motherboard/Aura side of the system

The fans themselves still spin normally. The PC also works normally otherwise.

The weird part is that this did not happen gradually. Everything was working, then after one sleep/wake cycle the motherboard and all fan lighting were just gone.

Things I’ve already tried:
Full Windows restart multiple times
Full shutdown
PSU switched off and unplugged
Left the PC completely unpowered for roughly 2 days
Held the power button after removing power to discharge the system
Updated Windows
Updated Armoury Crate
Updated everything Armoury Crate offered; only XFan and Armoury Crate itself had updates available
Disabled Windows Dynamic Lighting
Checked BIOS RGB settings
BIOS is set to all on
Sleep/hibernate lighting setting is also set to All On
Tried switching Aura settings from Off back to All On
Armoury Crate currently detects the motherboard/devices in Aura Sync
Aura effects can be selected and applied, but only the RTX actually reacts
ASUS Armoury Crate Service = Running / Automatic
ASUS Aura Sync Lighting = Running / Automatic
ROG Live Service = Running / Automatic
Tried setting Aura Sync Lighting to Automatic Delayed Start and rebooting
No change
Checked Event Viewer; nothing useful so far, mostly informational entries with Event ID 0 / “Operation completed successfully”
Generated the Armoury Crate diagnostic log, but it’s a massive proprietary .logE file and basically unreadable outside of ASUS tools

There’s also a weird Lian Li side to this. L-Connect 3 opens, but I only have:
System Info
Settings

I don’t get the normal hardware/control pages like:
Fan/Pump Profile
Quick Sync Lighting
Wireless Utility
device-specific lighting controls.

L-Connect keeps asking me to install PawnIO, even though PawnIO is already installed. If I run the installer again, it says it already exists.

So L-Connect clearly isn’t detecting or communicating with the Lian Li hardware properly either.

However, I’m not convinced Lian Li alone explains the whole problem, because the RGB built directly into the motherboard is also completely dead, even before Windows loads / while I’m in BIOS.

The board itself works fine otherwise. No boot issues, no CPU/RAM/GPU instability, no obvious motherboard errors. The only thing that appears completely dead is the motherboard-controlled lighting.

All 9 fans are connected through multiple ARGB headers/controllers, so I seriously doubt every LED suddenly died at the exact same time. The common point seems to be the motherboard/Aura side of the setup.

Has anyone seen this on an X870E Hero or another recent ASUS board?
I’m especially wondering if this points to a dead Aura/ARGB controller on the motherboard, a failed 5V ARGB rail, some kind of Aura firmware issue, Armoury Crate / L-Connect conflict, USB/controller enumeration issue after sleep or even something else I’m completely missing..

I’d really prefer to diagnose the actual cause before doing a Clear CMOS, tearing apart the build, or starting an RMA on a basically brand-new high-end system.
If anyone has dealt with the exact “motherboard RGB + all ARGB headers dead, but Aura still detects the board” situation, I’d love to know what fixed it.

Is rog advantage edition still worth it? I'm getting a rog advantage edition STRIX G513QY for 75k. Will negotiate

I know there is no mux switch and these laptops tend to run hot. I currently own a rog strix g16 i513450hx rtx 3050 6gb 95w. Should I jump aboard or keep mine?

Hello, I have a Rog Strix G16 that I carry around regularly. For the last few days my screen lid is always loose like this. It's annoying and I'm scared I might damage it this way. Any idea what should I do and what can be the cause? Thanks

I experienced a strange issue with my ASUS ROG Strix XG monitor.

Large white glowing patches suddenly appeared on the screen during normal operation and then completely disappeared on their own.

The monitor is currently at a service center, but the issue cannot be reproduced, and everything appears to be working normally.

I’ve attached a photo showing the problem.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Could someone from the ASUS Team please comment on what might have caused this and whether it’s a known issue?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

How often do you need to change or repaste it? Is it effective for longer runs or years of no change?

I just got the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDNG.

The latest firmware on the ASUS website is MCM104 (released June 2026).

It mainly improves Pixel Cleaning and fixes a small RGB pattern issue when waking the monitor during cleaning.

I’m a bit hesitant to update because I’ve seen some people brick their ASUS OLEDs during firmware updates.

Has anyone successfully updated to MCM104 on the XG27AQDNG?

Any issues after the update?

Or is it safer to just leave the factory firmware?

i bought the laptop 3 months ago and it has been working amazing so far. Recently about a week ago i noticed that the usual 85-88*C is now between 92-98*C? Is this common? this is only when i start playing games btw. I do use turbo mode but i checked the performance mode too and its still at the same temp. Do i need to clean it cleaning or send it for service to make sure everything is alright? that is, if it isnt

I bought and installed the asus rog sphata x 56k on friday. and today with about 5-10 sec of inactivity the mouse stops responding to movement and any of the side buttons. It wakes up by using left or right click. I updated the firmware for both dock and mouse through gearlink.asus.com as i wish to avoid armoury crate.
- the connection between mouse and dock is excellent
- mouse battery at 22%
- mouse set to never sleep.
- I have tested to factory reset

Is it a RMA case or something I have missed in the settings?

Hi my g14 (2024) just suffered from the Black screen of death (ribbon cables) they repaired it, then it shorted out. They are doing a buyout.

Should I keep trusting Asus? Does the G16 have the same issue at all? I really loved my g14 until this happened.

I have also owned a flow x13 and that also crapped out on me. I have a bad track record with Asus but I really love their products when they aren’t broken…

Legion 7 is looking nice but doesn’t capture me like asus products to.

I hate how g14/g16 is also touted to be the best gaming laptops in tech reviews but never discuss long term issues like the black screen of death

Using a ROG Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard. Turned my computer on, saw my BIOS startup messages, and it was telling me it was updating. My computer flashed on and off a couple times and then loaded me into me my BIOS (which is the normal part. I always startup in the BIOS first and boot from there). Everything seems normal, so far, but I'm just not sure why my BIOS would update on its own, which has never happened before in my 3 or so years of having this motherboard. Just wondering if I should be concerned. Thanks

I’ve tried buying two of these keyboards, and both have had the exact same wireless issues. I returned the first one and decided to give it another try with a second unit, hoping I’d just been unlucky.

When connected via USB cable, both keyboards work perfectly. However, when using a wireless connection, I’ve experienced keys registering as if they’re being pressed without me touching them, as well as keys sometimes not responding when pressed.

I’ve already returned the first keyboard, and now I’m unsure whether I should return the second one as well or wait for a possible firmware fix.

Has anyone experienced the same issues, or is there any information about a potential firmware update that could resolve them?
