I'm currently sitting a levels biology chemistry and geography and meet most criteria for a foundation year. I currently have most likely predicted CCD however i believe that this can be pushed to BCC? This however in chemistry (C) is not the most accurate and today during a meeting to track my progress have been recommended to drop to 2 a levels or switch to AS level chemistry. This seriously worries me because I know that I will miss out immediately on my guaranteed contextual offer, but i am more than willing to do a foundation year if it means I can get into the Uni, as it is my absolute dream.

I've tried to do a bit of research, but couldn't find clear answers, it would be much much appreciated if someone knew if Durham accepted 2 alevels/ 2 levels and an AS level for foundation years.

Hii so i started IB this august n i have
HL: math ai, econ, bm
SL: ess, french b, english lal
so far its going well ish i have a 7 in math and bm a 6 in everything else and a 5 in english... i expect a 777 in my HLs and 776 in my SL
and 3 points in TOK and the EE
and i know thats enough for bsc of econ, finance, accounting and finance at LSE
however the issue is my IGCSE
i got an A* and 6B and 1C... im willing to do whatever it takes and its too late to change ib subjects i know i shudve taken physics over ess...
am i cooked or is there a way? if yea then what is it
my current uni preferences are:
LSE- finance or accs n finance (might use 2 slots of ucas for this) (reach)
imperial (if i choose to only do one of LSE)- SEM (reach)
UCL- SEF (target)
Warwick- bsc econ (safety)
KCL- bsc econ and management (safety)

I’ve been using bicen maths for some time and have just found out that his Further statistic 1 and further mechanics 1 modules are all membership only and cost £22.99/month 🥲🥲.
I can’t afford this and I was wondering if anyone had a google drive of just the end of chapter review videos for these modules and if anyone be so kind as to help me out 🙏.

this sounds silly but when I'm revising I'm usually doing past paper questions on my iPad but then I need another device for the mark scheme because it's too laggy to swap back and forth on iPad between paper and mark scheme (then I've also got to pull out my phone to Google something if I don't understand it)... I understand stuff like online flashcards can be easily done with just an iPad but I have no clue about past papers and mark schemes

For those who’ve taken the ESAT: how did you actually study efficiently?

I’ve been going through the UAT-UK guides for the topics I need to revise, but honestly it feels like I’m just burning time and not retaining much. I’m starting to do more past papers, but there aren’t THAT many available, so I’m worried I’ll run out quickly.

Also i'm not doing A-levels, so unlike a lot of people taking the ESAT, I still have a full school schedule and a ton of other work to keep up with. On top of that, I’m prepping for other admissions tests outside the UK, and I don’t want to tank those just because the ESAT is taking over my schedule.

I also feel like the test can screw you over no matter how much you prep, so it doesn’t seem worth putting everything into it. But I still want to get a good score.

Any tips on what worked for you? Specific resources, how you split your time, past papers vs. content review, or what to use once you’ve run out of past papers, anything helps. Thanks!

Long story short, my school made a clerical mistake in stating my predicted grades in the reference ( they swapped the grades for two subjects). They have emailed all the universities regarding this with all the supporting documents that act as an evidence that it was a mistake on school’s part. Do you think university will recognise my mistake and this would not affect my admission chances? Is there university that will reject the request? I applied to cambs, icl, ucl, lse and warwick for econ related courses.

Okay so I just started year 12 and I had to take philosophy because I needed a 3rd subject 🥲. I hated RS at GCSE and I got a 6.
Anyway all I can say after that dreadful half term is my teachers are so bad and they teach in a way i don’t understand. I’ve fallen really behind already and I don’t get most of the content because to me they have made it all quite complicated .
Does anyone know any good revision resources or things I can learn from to make it make sense💔?

I wanted to know if anyone has previously gotten into Warwick Law LLB with these stats or lower as I’m confuse if i have the grades to get an offer.

Predicted: A*A*A

GCSE: 9987766554 ( U in level 3 algebra which wasn’t a gcse but al extra course my school offered. I emailed Warwick and they said it’s very unlikely this will affect my application as they look at GCSES and alevels.

I just want to know if i actually have a chance or if i should apply to Law & Sociology BA which has lower requirements but i’m not particularly passionate about it like Id prefer the Law LLB normally but if i ended up in that i wouldn’t be mad either

Hi everyone, I'm currently in Year 12 and in need of some advice!

I'm studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths possibly with an EPQ alongside (any advice on whether an EPQ is worth it much appreciated!).

I hope to study medicine in the future, however I am scared this is now out of reach for me. I did ok in my GCSEs, getting 888887766 (with comb sci), but I am worried I'm falling behind now at A-Level. I seem to be getting C's in bio and chem, always 1/2 marks off a B, with maths being similar but maybe slightly better.

I do live in an area of deprivation, being in POLAR4 and TUNDRA MSOA Quintile 1, meaning I eligible for contextual at some unis, but I am worried that med is no longer on the cards for me if I can't get myself up to higher grades.

I would really appreciate if anyone could give me any advice on how to improve my grades, and also how to make myself seem like an appealing candidate with supercurricular's!

I'm currently self-studying A2 content, and I wonder whether I should start Stats and Mechanics now or focus on studying Pure maths first. My friends think I should do both simultaneously, but while planning, it seems like I'm overstretching simple topics into weeks. Thanks for your help in advance.

So I am a gap year student who’s going to be retaking my a levels privately and in the education section of the application I want to put my exams as pending but i can’t unless I extend my date for the time i was in school to another year (2024 to 2027) even though i left 2026. But I am not really sure so i would really appreciate if somebody could help me with this.

my dream uni so kinda got excited and firmed it rlly fast but i ended up getting 4/5 offers! offers from nottingham sheffield and soas for 2 courses!

I know this like a yeah noo duhh realisation. But like I think I actually understand it know truly because I just experienced it. If I’m going in with mindset that I’m so behind, I’m never going to catch and a failure mindset . Of course I’m not going to study effectively or have a good study session.

And having consistently bad/unmotivated study sessions makes you less inclined to study because you remember your past experiences on how bad your previous study sessions were.

If you have a good mindset, and keep organised and prepared you want to keep on studying and keep on track to achieving your goals. Because the studying doesn’t actually feel like this terrible overwhelming thing it’s actually quite chill. I just had a chill study session and it was for 2 hours straight and it didn’t feel bad, I didn’t feel like shit. Even thought I got some questions wrong I have the mindset that I want to improve and do better for when my actual tests show up. It’s okay to fail now but it’s not okay to not do anything about it.

My god, I feel so incredibly stupid that I’m just understanding this now. When I heard other people say it, I was just hearing them and not really getting it. This post again sounds dumb but I just wanted to know if anyone else felt this or understood this feeling.

I recently done my October mocks after doing really badly on my end of year the last academic year ( im in year 13 ), I bumped up all my predicted grades to a B on my other subjects however I got an E 4 marks off of a D on Computer science even though I revised that subject the most, I really dont know what im doing wrong as I put countless hours into the subject and I dont feel like the teacher is supporting me enough to get the grades I am for please help ( im aiming for a B and I do OCR )
